Got this recently while looking for H2O stuff. It’s printed on a Comfort Color 1717 shit.

Not tried it yet but am planning to order. It had SLES which I really like out of all the sulfates.

Anyone else planning to try it or has tried it?

What colors are known to be less harsh smelling?

I purchased a Koala in cold brew and no reaction. I didn’t really like the style and ended up returning it. Since I did not have any problems with the smell I took advantage of the 30% off sale and purchased 3 bags. I got Naomi in sienna, the Aspen in nutmeg, and the Olivia in Jackson.

I’m not sure if it’s one of them or all of them, but something is causing me to have a reaction giving me a migraine and other issues that I usually get when exposed to fragrance. After seeing the post about nutmeg, I’m assuming it’s part of the issue. I plan to separately test the other two bags. Due to some pebbling issues I am returning the Naomi in sienna but I do love the color. As long as the Olivia in Jackson does not give me any issues I plan to keep it.

I’m asking about colors because I wanted replace the Aspen in a different color. Hoping the sienna or Jackson is not an issue as I do love those colors.

I did get a bag in nutmeg. Such a shame. The leather feels great but guess they’ve changed their tanning process or something to do with this specific color. I’ve not checked my reaction to the Sienna or Jackson. Not worth it.

Recently took advantage of the cells for Portland leather but shortly after opening up the purses, the leather smell gave me a headache. I had one of their Koala sling, purses and there was almost no smell at all. I did return the purse but it had nothing to do with the quality and more my preference in purses. I did not have it long-term.

I have a completely different brand where just the strap was leather, and the purse itself was wool. I wasn’t able to return them, and I set them out for a very long time, including in the sun and they still stink. I gave up on those and put them in a storage container.

Has anyone been able to successfully get the smell to go away?

For reference Portland leather uses full grain leather if that matters., I don’t want do anything that can harm the leather, but I would like to try something that would allow me to keep the purses. I read that you can let them air out and that should help but in my previous situation it did not help. I do have older leather purses, where I don’t have this issue and my current purse has a leather strap with a fabric body I’ve not had any issues with it.

I did reach out to the company on their social media and they quoted their FAQ which is use cedar or charcoal.

I’m not able to hang them up or put them outside. Currently have charcoal bags in them but unfortunately they are back in the box. Might have to try hanging them at night in a bathroom I can shut and then boxing them back during the day. Time is ticking on the return window. 😬

Was looking for any possible quick tricks.

I’ve have the serum and tried samples of other products including the conditioner but I wasn’t able to get a good idea of the results as the sample opened up in transit. Seemed to have good slip but my concern is more once the hair is dry. My hair typically dislikes oils. I know it has oils but I’m desperate.

Anyone else with a similar hair type that used it?

Mostly straight with less than 10% that has a curl/wave, fine texture, low porosity, medium thickness. Hair dislikes aloe, oils/butters and protein. My hair gets build up easily. Routine is shampoo and conditioner. FF leave ins often are too heavy or they make my hair feel tacky.

Currently dealing with issues from using FF shampoos stripping and conditioners not hydrating. I used a shampoo with protein and it really dried out my hair. Recently discovered aloe dried out my hair too. Which is I don’t get it because I often used Suave Essentials before having to be FF and hair looked fantastic.
