Is it normal to be charged per item?

It was actually my wedding anniversary, and what was supposed to be a quick treat ended up costing almost $20 for a single ice cream.

When I ordered, I asked how the toppings worked. The employee working behind the counter told me one topping came with the ice cream, and additional toppings were 99 cents. I asked him to put the normal allowed amount. He put 5 Reese's on, then asked how many brownies I wanted. When I asked how many were allowed, he literally said, "As many as you want." So I said three, and then accepted fudge when he offered it.

I had no idea until I looked at the receipt that he was charging 99 cents per individual Reese's and brownie bite. He tacked on eight extra 99-cent charges without explaining that at all. Telling a customer "as many as you want" implies it's included, not that each piece costs extra.

I paid on the spot because the ice cream was already made and I was caught off guard, but paying $20 for a single ice cream because of undisclosed per-piece fees feels completely deceptive. I've been there before years ago and really don't remember being charged this way. They in the past gave me like 3 or 4 Reese's as my first topping if I ordered a large and then charged me 99 c for the brownies and put one or two in and 99 c for the fudge. Is this normal and I just had nice people in the past?

Edited to add: the $20 ice cream is my rock bottom of being fat. Starting my diet tomorrow. 😂😭

Saw this quite and it spoke what I could never really put into words

'When someone asks me what my biggest fear is, but I don’t know how to say “My kids not understanding how damn sorry I am for each time the unhealed parts of me came out and made them feel less than. For all the moments I was overstimulated, exhausted, and touched out and they felt the brunt of it. Or that I am going to mess them up in ways they will have to work hard to heal from.”

So, instead, I say “heights.”

Just a baby with babies. '

Petition to change enfamil containers

I would actually love for enfamil to quit putting the formula in bags and add a scoop leveler and holder to their container. It's so crazy how expensive they are, but they don't have basic things other brands have for less. However I'm getting a travel lulyboo container with the leveler just for leveling lol. Kendamil spoiled me with their leveler.

I'm covered head to toe in spit up

I'm over it. My three month old is just barfing all over me all day long. I'm on shirt three, need a bath and he does too. All his sheets are covered in spit up. I've had a reflux baby before and it's similar, but she was upset... He's happy? The type to barf and smile at you lol. He's currently on Generic for enfamil. Planning to switch back to name brand as I think he may be barfing more on the generic.

Straight to formula?

Every baby I have has a tongue tie and narrow mouth, I lack under breast tissue, always undersupply and rarely have what little milk I do make come in the first week. I've had three babies and gave it my best shot to breastfeed every time. I've decided if I have another one day I'm not going to go all in trying to breastfeed. So how was it for those that did it? I feel like I don't always enjoy the first month, because I'm trying to force my body to do something it will never really do.

It would have been nice if I'd of been buying formula feeding things instead of breast feeding. I last minute purchased the bottles, bottle washer, formula dispensers etc.

Similac Organic

Did everyone else know that it has no HMOs in it? I bought it for the first time today, but I had no idea that it didn't have hmos, mfgm or gos. Kind of seems simple now that I look at it. I was trying it because it costs less than kendamil organic, but now I'm unsure that was wise. So Similac organic users, did you already know this? I'm just so surprised.

OCD and bottle feeding

Formula really triggered my contamination ocd. I realized suddenly (as I have about many other things) that I've been using coping mechanisms again, which as we know, only feeds the intrusive thoughts. I was remaking baby's formula when I had the intrusive thought that I miscounted the scoops even though I know exactly how many scoops I put in. Then I throw out the bottle because I let the thought win. I've resorted to counting the scoops out loud to counter the thought that I'll make his bottles wrong. I've been pouring and adding water meticulously so that the water is not at the top or bottom of the ounce line, but perfectly in the middle. I'm pouring any excess water down the sink, because now the purified water is "contaminated" and can't be poured back in the jug, despite the fact I sterilized my bottles. Tonight, I'm exhausted with this song and dance and I just said, send it. My husband looked at me and told me the measurements would have to be drastically off to hurt the baby. (Which I know deep down) So tonight, I made a bottle of water at the 6 oz line and didn't worry about its placement on that line, and I still counted the scoops out loud, but a win is a win. Anyone else tend to obsess about measurements? Worry about whether your scoops are too packed or have too many air pockets?

Question for baby brezza bottle washer pro users

What detergent tablets are we all using? The new formula is having suds every time I run it. So I've been running it twice to get all the soap out. I can't keep doing that though. Are we cutting the new ones in half? I ordered some plant based grownsy tablets, I hope they work better.

Edited to clarify I'm using baby brezza new reformulated tablets.

Mam easy active, anyone tried the switch?

Right now we use the mam anti colic bottles, I'm going to attempt to switch to the mam easy active bottles...I do worry he'll be more gassy, but I'm so tired of all the parts. Anyone made the switch? Was your baby more gassy without the vent at the bottom? I know it will still have a vent in the nipple.

Back to Kendamil Organic we go

So I heard classic was actually the best because of FOS, and it seems most babies here do better on it. I was hopeful since it's cost effective, however, FOS seems to be overstimulating for him. He's been doing constant sharts, even through his 6 hour sleep, his butt is raw, he's constantly fussy, more gassy. We're just not having a good time here. Oh and he's spitting up more. I'm surprised since otherwise the ingredients are identical. Anyway, just sharing since I couldn't find any posts about any babies doing better on organic than classic. I'm sure we're not the only ones though.

Let's talk about the nugget..

I'm growing to hate the nugget couch.... Everything sticks to it, dirt, dust hair. The kids never play with it and if they do, they fight over it. Everything I build for them falls and it is huge and annoying when not perfectly stacked in the corner. Yet I feel like everyone loves it? Am I the problem? Lol

Edited to add: my kids are 2 months, 6 and 9.

Relactate without pumping?

I quit nursing very early because of my son's tongue tie... He just had it clipped at 8 weeks old, is it too late to try to nurse now? Could I make it happen without pumping and just offering the breast? I can still hand express drops out but I hate pumping. Pumping makes me feel stressed and depressed. Right now he is fully on kendamil. He comfort nurses on his pacifier frequently.

Mam bottles in baby brezza bottle washer pro!

I've spent weeks finding the best way to fit mam in here, baby brezza uploaded a video showing their way, which sucks because the white valves weren't getting clean because they weren't over jets and the bottles kept flipping over. The best way is to stand the main bottle body up right, with the bottoms on top of them and the white valves over the jets at the bottom (should be standing against the bottles but they moved when I opened it) Left is their way, right is mine.

Kendamil classic vs organic

So my baby had been on Similac Total pro comfort, which he spit up a lot and was very colicky. Then he was on enfamil, became constipated.. then he was on Similac 360, super fussy. Now I tried kendamil organic because classic was all out, and he became an angel baby with perfect poops. However, kendamil classic is finally back in stock, so we're ready to try the cheaper of the two. I hope he does as well on it as he has with the organic. I think I'll have to bounce back and forth due to availability. Are they about the same? Has anyone done this without issue? Was your baby better on organic, classic or the same on both?

I almost replied to this, but decided I didn't have the mental energy to waste on people...

People suck for trying to make formula feeding moms feel bad. I can't make enough breastmilk, I just can't. And I mentally cannot do triple feeding for six months like last time. So this is my earliest exclusively formula fed child and it is what it is.

Idk what formula to try next

My baby has been on Similac Total pro gentle comfort for about half his life. He's 5 weeks old. Someone gave us ten cans. Weirdly I don't think he had bad gas and fussiness until we started using it. Is it possible he should try a non gentle formula? Before we were using regular ready to feed enfamil and Similac.

Lack of sleep.

We exclusively formula feed and I have done all the night feeds since birth. He's 5 weeks old and I'm exhausted. My husband was doing the morning shift for the first 2 weeks, but then he had to go back to work. I also have two other kids. Even when he's off the next day, I take the night shift, he takes him from 5 and on, on off days, but conveniently takes a shit when he wants his first bottle of the day, so I wake up from him screaming. Anyway, does anyone remember when they start eating more at a time and sleep for 5 hours at a time?
