Any pastors with ADHD?

As a person with ADHD, I have a lot of anxiety around writing. Once I get started it’s pretty easy for me to continue, but I really struggle to make myself start. Obviously this is a problem in my chosen profession. Does anyone else in the same boat have any advice on how to deal with this?

Advice for this weeks gospel passage

I mostly preach pulpit supply. I have been following the lectionary and preaching out of Matthew for most of this liturgical year, and normally that strategy works out fairly well for me, but this week I have slowly realized that I have stumbled into a minefield with Matthew 18:15-20. I travel for my other job and I only brought stuff to preach out of Matthew, and on top of that it’s already Wednesday. In other words, it’s too late to change tacks and try a different passage.

Has anyone had any success preaching this before? How do you do so responsibly? Do you have any online resources you can recommend? I am already looking at working preacher, but if you know any other good resources please share them.

Recommend me a realistic detective story

The case doesn’t have to be realistic. It can have fantastical elements. It also doesn’t have to be a detective. In fact, an investigative journalist is even better.

What I am looking for is a story where the INVESTIGATION is realistic. The characters hunt for leads and chase them. Sometimes there are dead ends. Sometimes they get stuck. Sometimes there are scenes where the character rifles through old records or canvasses an apartment complex. Investigation is hard work and the book should reflect that.

Books of this type I have read:
Nightfilm
The City and the City
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
The Gone World

My updated view of the Dark One after finishing the books

I took this picture years ago while playing Earthbound and it was all I could think about during that final scene.

I finished A Memory of Light this week

I spent a straight year reading it. Don’t know what to do with my life now. AMA I guess

Tried my hand at paella for the first time

I was going to add mussels but when I realized I had to cook them alive I decided it wasn’t worth it.

Anyway. It ended up needing more saffron and more salt, but I thought it wasn’t bad for a first attempt.

How to design ships?

Hi guys,

I’ve been playing for a while (a few hundred hours) and I’ve never actually designed a ship. Auto best seems to get the job done. Am I missing out? What are the basics of ship design, and when would I want to design a ship vs. letting the computer design it for me? Basically, what do I need to know about designing ships? I assume it has something to do with what enemy ships I plan to use them against; is there a way to see other ships’ design info? Does anyone know any good tutorials?

My almost 2 year old will sometimes refuse to eat food and her favorite way of disposing of food she refuses to eat is to throw it to the ground, especially if the dog is nearby. She also will throw her water bottle, which is made of metal and I’m worried she’s going to drop it or throw it at my dog’s head. What are some techniques to stop her from throwing things without yelling at or spanking her. I was raised with spankings but I don’t want to do that to her, but it is also difficult for me to come up with other ideas.
