W123 AC issues!! any good shops near Sacramento CA?

hello everyone, I have been experiencing some AC issues this past few months. normally I do all work on my car by myself, including the head gasket! but the AC system makes no sense to me. I recently took it to a European shop and they said my AC system was bone dry. they refilled it with r134a and also replaced some of the hoses that they said had gone dry. cost me about 500 bucks and the AC worked great... until today. so about a month.

that AC compressor is no longer coming on and no cold air. seems like it must be a leak.. where should I check?
