10 week old sleeping 9 hours

For a few weeks now, I’ve been setting alarms over night every 4 hours to wake baby for a diaper change and feed.

Recently I’ve noticed every time during the night now I’m having to wake baby up (previously sometimes she would wake up before the alarm).

Every parent I’ve spoken to has said don’t wake a sleeping baby and that they would let the baby wake me up when she’s hungry.

Last night, I decided to not set any alarms and let her wake me up. Her last feed was 9:30pm and she woke up around 6. My app said it had been almost 9 hours since her last feed.

I’m concerned about this because what if I just didn’t hear her fuss? Is this safe for her to go that long without eating? My mind can’t help but go to the risk of SIDS.

Her 2 month visit they said she was gaining weight well (but we were still doing middle of night scheduled wakes). I mentioned to her PA that I feel that I’m having to wake her up for feeds at night and he didn’t really say much if I had to keep going that.

Has anyone experienced this? I was prepared for lack of sleep but now I feel like I’m waking every few hours to make sure she’s okay. I’m just anxious.

I didn’t think it was possible to be this happy

I am a few weeks postpartum with my first babe.

I’ve never been a person whose sole purpose in life was to have kids. Honestly, we struggled for years to conceive and during that time, I told my husband I could be perfectly fulfilled without being a mom.

I was never a “omg let me hold your baby!” Kind of girl. Genuinely, if they couldn’t hold their head up, I didn’t want to touch them.

The last few months of my pregnancy I would panic about being responsible for a whole baby.

Everything was scary.
I would be leaving my job to be a stay at home mom (I’ve never not worked before), I was scared of the lack of sleep I’d be getting, and as someone with a history of depression, I was sure I would have postpartum depression or anxiety.

I was also scared hearing about women who suddenly hate their dogs after the baby comes and was scared I would experience that too.

Despite all of those fears, my little girl came into this world and I feel like I have found a missing piece of myself. I’m in constant disbelief that I get to be her mom.

Every morning, my heart bursts seeing her little sleepy face.

My dogs are so sweet with her. They get up with me at night and sit with me all day. When she cries, they rush over like they are the ones to soothe her.

The feeling of holding her snuggled into my chest is unlike anything else in this world. I love just the two of us napping on the couch with nothing else to do except be with each other.

My husband is incredibly hands on and supportive. He was basically my live in nurse during some postpartum complications.

Now we dance in the in the kitchen while making dinner, giggling that we are finally parents.

I seriously didn’t realize I could be this happy in life. It feels like I don’t deserve it.

Breakfast is some lactation muffins I made.

Okay round 2- fit check please wildbird buckle wrap carrier 2 week old

Hello- would love some feedback to see if this is a good fit.

She seems comfy in it the short times I’ve tried to wear her. I would love some feedback or reassurance that this is correct (especially as an over anxious first time mom)

Mostly want to be confident to wear her around the house so I can get some stuff done. (:

Thank you all!

Ftm with 2 week old- fit check wildbird buckle wrap carrier

She is about 9.5lbs now. I would love to be able to wear her so I can move around the house more.

Advice appreciated! I want to feel confident that this is correct and I’m not doing something wrong. She seems content in the carrier. The few times I tried it for 10 mins or so she fell asleep.

Got shamed for buying Cheetos

I am 38 and some change weeks pregnant. My belly looks like a basketball strapped to my abdomen which gets comments pretty much any time I interact with someone.

I just walked on my lunch break from work in the pouring rain to a nearby gas station to get Cheetos because I was craving them and have been pretty stressed.

The cashier at the gas station was an old man. He said I couldn’t buy the Cheetos because “these aren’t good for your baby.”

I initially thought he was joking and just chuckled. But then he didn’t ring them up and asked if I wanted trail mix instead.

Mind you, I’m just standing there in a DRENCHED rain coat.

I said no to the trail mix and that “she’s craving Cheetos” and rubbed my belly.

He reiterated, while speaking directly to my belly that she deserved “only the best for baby”

And then I said “well I walked in the rain to get them for her” to which he said that I should have an umbrella.

He took my card and said it wasn’t working with the machine. Luckily I had cash and he did end up take that….

I have never in a million years thought I’d encounter anything like that in the wild. I think I’m in a little shock.

Anyways, the Cheetos were very good. 😊

Hello! I’m collecting colostrum before baby comes. This is our first - i noticed some white specs in the collection cup. Is that normal?

I wash and boil the collection cup before each collection and wash my hands.

I will post a photo in the comments as I can’t on the post.
