Hi everyone!

I’m 27 yr old with a Business Degree and am debating to move to the CC/ Fort Myers area to be close to my parents. I currently live many States away and have a job that I like but the pay isn’t great. I’ve only ever worked in Aerospace and it’s truly my passion. I’m not fully against exploring other paths but the thought of not working in this industry definitely devastates me as I know there aren’t many Aerospace company’s out there. However, I can’t really seem to find many jobs around the area on LinkedIn or Indeed that seem to pay ok. What does everyone do for work out there??

Also, wondering about the commute from CC to Fort Myers? Do you suggest for a young professional to move to the Fort Myers/Estero area instead?

At 27, I am feeling lost, lonely, and torn about whether to stay in my expensive home state or move to Florida to be closer to my retired parents, especially since one is experiencing health issues and I only see them 2-3 times a year. My lease runs until June 27, giving me time to decide, but my current job is the only thing keeping me here; while it doesn't pay well, it offers flexibility that allows me to visit family while working remotely without burning through PTO - a perk other employers rarely offer. However, plane tickets are also not cheap so it’s not something I can keep on doing in the long run. In addition, I have a roomate and even though we get along I hate having to have a roomate and I know that will not change anytime soon staying in CA.

Two of my co workers are already fully remote out-of-state. Faced with fear of making the wrong choice, I am weighing three options for next year I believe : asking to work fully remote from Florida (not guaranteed they will approve) , staying and renewing my lease, or quitting without a job lined up to move back in with my parents temporarily while I look for a new job. I know the job market sucks (I have a business degree) so that is also another fear I have. Part of me is telling me why leave if I have a job but the other part of me is so miserable being alone here.
