Dating for over 50

I’m fairly new to this community, and this is my first post.

I wanted to ask whether there are other Christian singles over 50 who are struggling with dating. For me, the dating landscape changed over a decade ago. I gradually stopped meeting single men around my age in real life, and dating apps eventually became redundant and unhelpful.

As an introverted Christian, it feels even more difficult to socialize or meet new people naturally. Is anyone else around my age still trusting God for a companion, yet finding themselves going years without meeting any genuine potential partners?

How are other over-50 Christians navigating the challenges of dating or the complete lack of it at this stage in life?

Running shoes.

Which running shoes do you feel most comfortable in?

I have been wearing Asics for many years, but I started having heel pain about a year ago after my run.

Yesterday I decided to try Hoka and they cushioned my feet better. I had minimal pain after my 10kms run.

I wore Hoka for the first time for my Saturday run on this trail. They cushioned my feet well.

I have been wearing Asics and they hurt my feet, post running. I decided to try out Hoka this time. What's your footwear?

Any advise on foot pain post rucking?

Has anyone else experienced excruciating pain after rucking?

I’m 50(F) and love going to the forest for a good ruck. I usually aim for 1.5–2 hours, but about a year ago I started developing pain in the heel of my left foot. The symptoms seem very similar to heel fat pad atrophy.

I’ve tried taping my heel before a ruck and adding insoles, but the pain still comes back. The worst part is after resting my foot for an hour or two — I can barely walk afterward.

If you’re into rucking and have experienced similar heel pain, how did you deal with it? Were you able to heal it or continue rucking without making it worse?

PS: Tomorrow is my rucking Saturday, but I dread the pain afterwards. Also, I wear good old running shoes.

Update: Thank you all for your comments and recommendations for my first post here. I actually just joined this group and find it helpful already. I will certainly plan to see a foot doctor as well as change my footwear. Any recommendations for rucking shoes would be helpful. Thanks.

Not dating at 50?

I’m basically 50/F, never married, and spent a good portion of my adult life dating on and off until about six years ago. I’ve been on dating apps for over a decade, and while I never found them particularly useful back then, they seem even worse now. I still have profiles and occasionally scroll out of curiosity, but they’re essentially inactive.

Before 2020, I was more of an ambivert and spent a lot of time outdoors and socially active. After Covid, though, I became much more introverted. These days, I rarely meet new people organically, and dating feels completely out of reach.

I genuinely miss having someone — companionship more than anything — but I’m also very selective and no longer have the energy for blind dating, endless trial-and-error, or unnecessary drama.

Are there other 50+ introverts in a similar situation? How do you navigate loneliness while still wanting meaningful company without diving back into the exhausting modern dating scene?

[50/F] 🇰🇪 Introverted but looking to connect.

Hey everyone 👋

I’m looking to connect with genuine people for meaningful, penpal friendships. I’m someone who values depth, honesty, faith in God and intentional conversations over small talk.

A big part of my life is my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and I appreciate connecting with people who are respectful of that or share similar values. I enjoy conversations about God, life, purpose, personal growth, culture, fitness & health, and the things that help us become better people.

A little about me:

• Based in Kenya 🇰🇪

• Passionate about fitness, health, and wellness

• I enjoy hiking, rucking, long walks, and staying active

• Interested in self-improvement, meaningful living, and learning about different cultures or your specific activities

• I value kindness, discipline, peace, and authenticity

I’m preferably looking to connect with males within a similar age range for more relatable conversations and shared interests. If you’re genuine, respectful, and enjoy thoughtful conversations, feel free to reach out. 😊
