'Chinese have China, Indians have India, Malays only have Tanah Melayu (Malay Land)'
malaysiakini.comLeftists and Liberals are using Wahhabism as a scapegoat
i acknowledge that western imperialism and capitalism have influenced the creation of wahhabism, but islam remains its primary ingredient. You cannot condemn Wahhabism while defending islam; that is akin to claiming to hate cheese while loving milk. The logic is flawed.
wahhabism is extremist because Islam is extremist; it is dogmatic because islam is dogmatic; it is intolerant because islam is intolerant.
As ex-Muslims, we must take a stand against the current leftist and liberal agenda that scapegoats Wahhabism while shielding Islam. We cannot allow this blatant whitewashing and gaslighting to continue.
The Keyframe tab in the Fusion page is completely black. How do i resolve this?
the constant dehumanization and discrimination in Malaysia make me feel distressed
Malaysia was built on the foundations of injustices:
race hierarchy: malays are special, non-malays are not.
islam is the default religion
malay culture is the official culture.
patriarchy is natural
these injustices are enshrined in the constitution and laws. For the past 69 years, our politics, education and mainstream media have constantly dehumanize minorities, calling minorities as not loyal to the country, not patriotic, not willing to assimilate. minority culture is constantly demonized. minority religion is constantly attacked. minorities are constantly discriminated and persecuted.
it is so incredibly difficult to hold a positive outlook in life when every day, the politicians as well as the majority population considers all minorities as undesirables
are there any ex-muslim socialist/communist here?
I’m curious to connect with others who have left Islam and now identify as socialist or communist. From what I’ve seen in various discussions, there seems to be a notable overlap; some ex-Muslims were drawn to leftist ideologies due to shared critiques of inequality, while others reject both religious and capitalist structures.
Whether you’re an ex-Muslim who found resonance in Marxist theory, or you simply identify with socialist/communist principles after leaving the faith, I’d love to hear your perspective. How do you reconcile your past with your current political beliefs? What drew you to socialism or communism?
Let’s share stories, resources, and thoughts.
