Fixing to cycle - good resource to learn steps?

I’m fixing to cycle a fish less tank. I have my Fishless Fuel and Fritz 7 with some plants on the way. I’m sure it’s been posted before…can anyone lead me to a how to for dummies on the best way to cycle my tank? This is for a classroom tank and I’m taking my 2nd grade class on the journey, so I’d like it to be as “explain it to me like I’m a 2nd grader” 😂 friendly as possible.

Classroom tank setup ideas - Upgraded size!

I had posted earlier about wanting ideas for what to add to a classroom fish tank. After people's ideas on size, I am upgrading from 5 gal to 10 gallon tank! I am a 2nd grade teacher and want ideas for the best fish/creatures for 7 & 8 year olds to enjoy and learn from. So, what are your suggestions for my classroom tank? I am a newbie, obviously! Thank you.

Classroom tank set up ideas

I have a 5 gallon tank that I will be setting up for my 2nd grade class. What should I include? I know it’s a small space and it’s the largest I can have. I want the most interesting and humane creatures and plants for 7 & 8 year olds to enjoy and learn from. Thank you!

TSH jumped to 3.04 from .17 etc.

I had my annual physical labs and my TSH jumped to 3.04 from .17 and my T4 went to .83 from 1.2 in two months of a new dosage of 75 mcg Synthroid (brand name) and 5mcg of Liothyroxine. My endo was trying to raise my TSH slightly and had lowered my Synthroid dose slightly from 88mcg. It is SO annoying to yoyo around. I felt totally fine with my TSH at .17! I feel better when it's lower. My TSH hasn't been this high in 3 years. I know there are other thyroid labs I can do and I usually do - this is just the labs as part of my annual physical. I've had T3 Free done recently and that was at 2.6 two months ago. Question is - what the hell with adjusting my meds? I was feeling fine taking the Synthroid 88 mcg and 5mcg Lio when my TSH was at .17! What should I go back to to get closer to the .17? Maybe I need slightly more Liothyroxine? I have a message into my doc to ask her, so not really asking for advice medically here - just experiences of others with adjustments of meds. Thanks people!!

Better epilator? This one - ouch!

Suggestions for a better epilator? This one is pretty basic, is pretty uncomfortable and I feel like there has to be a model that does a better job. Or if one of the little electric shavers is better? I like the results I’ve gotten from this hand me down one and seems like a more updated version could do and feel better! I am using it on my facial peach fuzz if that helps. Thanks!

Layering sunscreen

If I use a moisturizer with SPF 30 and then on top of that use a mineral powder with SPF 25 - am I getting a total of SPF 55?
I bought the mineral powder due to greasiness of moisturizer. But I really like this moisturizer, LaRoche Posay triple moisturizer with SPF, because it doesn’t burn my skin or eyes and usually SPF does that for me! Trying to be more diligent about daily SPF even when not outside a lot, I’ve been bad about this all my life!

LaRoche Posay recommendations?

Your favorite LP product recommendations please! I bought the LP daily moisturizer with SPF 30 and it seems to be doing okay on day 3. I’m a 53YOF with sensitive skin and sagging neck. 😂

Bloodwork results from 2008 were “normal”!

I was looking for something and found my bloodwork results from 2008, where my TSH was 4.58 and “still within range”. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s in 2023ish and began taking medication. Currently my TSH is under 1.0. Point being, I wish I knew then what I know now about thyroid levels and optimal vs. “normal”. It sort of pisses me off that I didn’t understand back then and it makes a lot of things I went through physically and mentally make tons more sense. I feel like if I had been diagnosed back in 2008 (or earlier) my life would have been different. That was AT LEAST 15 years I was not medicated properly! I would have felt a lot better and struggled a lot less because I would have had the proper medication.

Goal achieved!

53YOF. Microdose of .5 mg compounded semaglutide. Started with Noom and now with Pomegranate. Began in Nov 2025 and met goal weight a few weeks ago. Plan to stay on current dose and perhaps spread out timing from every week to stretch it a few days longer. I have weighed every day, eaten 1,200 calories per day, weighing and measuring everything, with moderate walking and daily life exercise. I have thyroid disease and this medicine has not only helped me lose weight but also reduced inflammation a lot. My labs with cholesterol and triglycerides which were both high have stabilized. Starting weight 172 and my goal is 135, where I am now. I want to stay between 130 and 135. I had worked on my weight for years with no success and continual gaining. The micro dose was the key to me losing 37 pounds in 6 months! I feel SO much better!

I often feel shame and guilt for being NC with parents. Even though I tried for decades to make things work, submit, let abusive behavior slide, and be the bigger person. Thinking about it - it feels like we are trained throughout our lives to feel guilt, shame and as though we are the ones to blame for everything. We are trained to bow down and let family members be right and in control. So it seems natural it would be hard to rewire ourselves to fully realize that abusers groom people to feel like the ones in the wrong and the ones who need to keep the family secrets without protest. Still trying to overcome these feelings but I have a clearer awareness of the patterns. Can anyone else relate?

I often buy the Walmart Equate version of CeraVe or Cetaphil. Am I doing it wrong? Are the store brands not as good? When I read the ingredients they seem to be the same and in the same order, so seemingly have the same active ingredients with the same amounts. Am I ruining the effectiveness to save a few bucks?
