Why do lots of Brits seem to think so little if the UK/England?

The other day I saw a post about a woman who moved from Australia to England. I also saw another one where someone moved their whole family from Norway to England.

In the comments of both posts where Brits saying that they have downgraded, they should have not moved here, they are waiting to leave, etc. The comments where 90% negative. I see this a lot on posts where someone has moved here.

Why is this? I was born and raised here, of an commonwealth background. I honestly love it here (other than that glumpy January weather/day length) and can see the appeal of moving here. Am I missing something?

Edit: to the person who DM me saying that the reform party will deport me once the next election is held, You can go and fuck yourself.

Question on how to describe someones colour/race in the UK?

Some background we are all based in the UK and this happened in England.

Person A: A British Nigerian male

Person B: A English British male

Person C: A British Pakistani male (me)

Person D: A British Afghanistani female

At work a new starter joined, as part of her induction (person D) she has to go around and talk to various people, who will show here a policy/product/area.

After I showed her a product, she had to talk to person A. I was asked who is person A, I replied with 'he is the tall black man sitting over there'.

After saying this, person B (who was sitting opposite us) said 'I cannot say that, he is not black but African American'.

Both me and person D were confused as he is not American and this did not differentiate him from the other black man (who is not tall) sitting in the same area.

Later that day I asked person A, if he was fine with what I said. He was as he is a tall black man and that I was using it to describe him, not insult him. He also pointed out that when the reverse happens, he describes me as the short brown guy over there.

Person B overhead and reported the whole thing to HR. Who was in the wrong here? / How should we describe people here?

Need some advice about rent

I am looking at a shared ownership apartment, the agreement states that once a year then rent will be renewed.

If the property reduces in value, will the rent portion also decrease or will it stay the same?

When does Interest become Riba?

Before someone comments all interest is Riba, please provide evidence. Just because something is called interest (in English) does not mean it necessarily is Riba, e.g Darurah.

I am looking at car finance in the UK. If I borrow £10,000, I will pay back £12,000. The payments are fixed over the time period and I am told all this information before signing, this way I can decide if I am being exploited.

Won't this fall into Murabaha? As I know what the end cost will be, the payments do not increase. The bank owns the car.

In the UK if car finance is in place, it cannot be repossessed unless it's fully paid off or it's the financing company (if you don't make payments). Won't this be considered Ijara?

Shall I walk away?

I have made an offer on a property, however, it has come to my attention that the building directly behind will be rebuilt.

That building was made with RAAC, once this was known the council brought the building. They are now going to rebuild the building however, it will be 106 social apartments, compared to the current 67.

The new building will be double the height and will take 3-5 years to be rebuilt.

I am tempted to walk away but I am not 100% sure.

Need some advice

For some context, we live in the UK. My parents have rented a house for the past 20 years, I have grown up in this house. Over the past 20 years the rent has increased to a point where my parents cannot afford the rent alone. As a result I contribute half the rent and bills money.

An opportunity has come up for me to purchase a flat, it's not big enough for the family but fine for me. My parents are telling me to go for it however, I worry that they cannot afford the rent as I won't be able to contribute to this household.

I have put multiple years of my life on hold to help my parents out, however, I still feel guilty about them needing to move out of the family home.

I am torn on what to do, shall I continue with the purchase or withdraw?

If Pakistan was a federation would the independence movement of Bangladesh still taken place?

In my own opinion I always found it odd that Pakistan was not a federation with the east and west side.

If this was the case, with two governments, two capitals under one flag, would the independence of Bangladesh taken place? Or would the independence happen a lot earlier as the 2nd government would have already been established?

What job should a bored software engineer switch to?

I am a software engineer, however, after being in the industry some time I am bored.

I want to switch to another job where I still can use my skills and preferably I am not looking at a screen all day.

Please share your recommendations, I don't mind if the job is completely random.

I am based in the west home counties, for a location point of reference.

I have found a property that I like in the south east of England. It's a leasehold with 173 years but with no ground rent, service charges or any other charges.

What is the point of this?
