Can anyone recommend any GAA charities I could donate to?

Preferably in Mayo/The West.

Would like to make a donation in the name of a lost loved one but I’m a bit far removed from the local side of the game.

Babies get unwell: how often did yours?

At my wits end here.

My wee boy is turning 1 at the weekend and he’s been through the wringer the last three weeks.

We’ve been at our GP twice, out of hours and AnE twice.

Since him taking unwell 3 weeks ago he had multiple viral infections that have caused a mild fever, ear infection, conjunctivitis, two separate viral rashes, a bad cough that has now developed into croup. His respiratory vitals are low and his breathing is shallow

He’s not eaten any solids in three weeks and hasn’t slept a wink

He’s been filled to the brim with calpol and ibuprofen and now steroids.

Sitting in AnE for the second time now waiting for them to tell us it’s viral and there’s nothing they can do…

Before this he’s had a few other viral infections, hand foot and mouth, RSV and Bronchilitis.

He’s not even 1 and is just about to start nursery!

Is this normal? How did you deal with the stress?

Edit: thanks everyone for your kind comments and insight I’ve read them all. There’s just too many for me to reply to!

Any tips on removing the mixer handle?

I want to replace the cartridge in this shower but I’m struggling to access it.

I can get the screw out but can’t get the handle to budge. I’ve tried being quite a bit of force but don’t want to break anything.

I tried using wd40 as it’s the only penetrating oil I have to hand but no luck.

Just want to make sure I’m not missing anything? I’m comfortable with plumbing but this is just frustrating me.

I’m not overly precious about scratching the chrome as it’s an old shower I might need to fully replace anyway.

Car I’m buying has been written off between deposit and completion

I need opinions and advice please.

The car I’ve put a deposit down on is a 2020 Toyota RAV4 and unfortunately it was hit by a reversing lorry outside the garage when it was getting its MOT.

The place I’m buying from seems to be open and honest about it.

I’ve not seen the damage yet, but it sounds like it’s purely cosmetic. Scraped paint on the door, bumper, and a broken wing mirror.

Guys been back and forth with the insurance who have decided to just write the car off despite it being cosmetic…

I’ve put the deposit down on the car to buy it at £18000 but he’s phoned me to tell me that I’ve got two options. I can get my deposit back if I want to back out or he will get it completely repaired replacing the door and wing mirror with genuine Toyota parts and the bumper repainted and sell it to me at a reduced price of £12,000.

Only issue is if I go to sell it down the line it’ll be a reduced value. Say It should be valued at £7k it’ll need to sell for £5k etc but If I keep a hold of the car for a few years which I’m likely to do anyway the longer I keep it the less of a bother that will be.

I believe him when he says it shouldn’t be a write off and he doesn’t understand the insurance companies’ decision.

What would ye do? Take the 6 grand saving as a blessing or cut your losses?

The 6k saving would go a really long way for us.

Funny little editing mess up S03E03

In Fair Game immediately after the scene where they are removing all weapons from the base and arguing with Teal’c over his staff weapon the next scene immediately after is a bunch of soldiers running with their guns because the stargate has activated.

Clearly forgot to cut the stock footage out 😂
