Recommendations for 9y

Hi all

My 9y son has a keen interest in Norse mythology. The Neil Gaiman book is his favourite - but he just reads it over and over again!

I wonder if anyone can recommend other books, documentaries, etc I could get him?

As I said, he is 9y but he’s a very confident reader so he could probably handle something for teens.

Please let me know if there’s a better subreddit for this question.

Visiting with kids

Hello

We are visiting this weekend and planned to do Stonehaven beach and pool, and some National Trust properties… and then we saw the forecast.

Grateful for any recommendations for other things to do with kids - including some indoor options!

They are 5y and 8y.

Thanks!

Leather repair

Hello

I have a vintage leather bag. It is generally in very good condition, but the leather of the base (the “belly” - where all the stuff lies) feels quite thin and I’m worried it could tear.

Is there somewhere in Glasgow I can have it reinforced or replaced?

Risk of deactivation?

I want to start by acknowledging that I must have clicked “accept” on something in error at some point, and that is my fault. HOWEVER…

Last week I noticed that I had been paying £10 a week for about 12 weeks for a very premium version of WeTransfer.

I do not routinely use WeTransfer and I have no need for a premium version. I haven’t used it at all in the time period. I hadn’t been receiving email invoices for any of these payments as I do for other apps.

I used the form on Apple’s website to request a refund. This was refused. I then spoke to an agent. He said he felt the charges were unfair and that £120 is too much to have taken from my account for a product I don’t use. He said he would try to progress a refund.

He called me today to say the refund had been denied. He then advised me NUMEROUS times to do a chargeback through my bank.

A few minutes later, he suddenly warned me that Apple could deactivate my account if I do a chargeback. This completely contradicted his advice from only seconds before.

When I asked to speak to someone else, he claimed to be the most senior person working for Apple 😅

The call was being recorded but the agent refused to share a copy because I am not in the USA. He has also refused a transcript.

My questions are:

- How likely is Apple to deactivate my account?

- Should I attempt a chargeback?

- Anything else I should consider?

Wrong item sent

Hello

I bought a top on Vinted last week. It hasn’t arrived yet but the seller has messaged me to say she sent the wrong item. She says she will pay for the return of whatever she has sent me.

What do I do? If I collect the item and report an issue, will it give her an option to pay for a return label? I don’t want to anything outside of the app.

I feel like it would more sense for me to not pick it up so that it eventually goes back to her… But she hasn’t suggested that and I want to keep myself (and my refund) safe.

Must listen episodes?

I am a new Watch What Crappens listener but longtime Housewives watcher.

I am making a long journey this weekend and would like to download some “classic” episodes of Watch What Crappens.

What do you recommend?
