Having trouble landing a role.

Idk if I’m doing anything wrong. I’m in Canada and have been sending out applications since May this year. I’ve had a couple of interviews here and there, and sometimes even made it to final rounds but I just can’t seem to land one. I have 4 years of Saas CSM experience. Anyone else in this position?

How do I move on after another failed talking stage where I was hopeful?

I (31F) was recently dating a guy (33M) it started out pretty ok. He was texting and calling etc. We had our first date at a restaurant, dude even brought flowers, had a second date then became intimate on the 3rd date and I think that’s when things started to fall apart.

He was saying he was stressed out with work (he works two jobs) and he was feeling burnt out. He also started complaining that his family relies on him a lot financially so it kinda stretches him a lot sometimes and that he also has these travel plans he has yet to pay for (one is his brother’s wedding and the other is his friends wedding) I was trying to be supportive and started driving to go see him and spend time at his place instead but I felt a drop in communication. I brought it up to him and he said yes, I know I’ve been dropping the ball and I’m sorry, I’ll do better. He never really got better, and in fact got worse.

The same day I complained about communication he didn’t call, and then later texted me the next day saying he fell asleep. The next day, he called but I missed his call and when I called back, he was at soccer and he said he’s almost done and he will call me back. He never did. He said he was dropping some friends off and he forgot to call me. At the same time we hadn’t seen each other for almost a week and I still don’t know when we were going see each other.

I then asked him if we could hang out after work, he said sure but then he cancelled in the morning off saying he had to quickly get home to do something.

I also realized he didn’t really ask about me, or follow up on things I had mentioned where coming up such as interviews and such. Anyways long story short, I ended things but he seems so devastated and was basically saying sorry and if we could try again. I said no, but I’m a bit perplexed. We didn’t work out because of how you were treating me. Did I rush into ending things prematurely??

Didn’t want to make the post too long, but there’s even some stuff that happened in between. Idk for some reason I thought I had found something that was potentially going to lead somewhere but looks like another failed dating experience. In the beginning we did say that we were both looking for something serious btw.

I really liked him. What are your thoughts. Or any encouraging words to help move on would be appreciated. TIA

Stuck between not wanting to overreact and not wanting to be too chill. How should I handle this?

I (31F) have been newly talking to this guy (33M), I’m still figuring out if this could potentially be something but I’m struggling on a recent situation. He lives an hour and half drive away and during the week he’s been saying he wants to see me.

He suggested going to a lounge on Sat. so that we can sit somewhere and talk to which I agreed. He also said he was thinking of watching a match with his friend downtown (my city) though they were still planning it. I had brunch with a friend in the afternoon so we had said we’d meet later at night after we’re both done with our plans though no set time was set.

Today (Sat.) around noonish, I said keep me posted about time, and which lounge to which he said sure. The day went by, around 5pm I said to him, I was leaving downtown and heading home, and since he hadn’t confirmed anything we can do tomorrow with a set time and place.
He then called and told me that he’s not going to watch the game anymore but he’s coming (my city) with his friends for a party and that we can meet after the party. I asked him what time he’ll be done and he was saying around 11pm which was late for me so I said you just go have fun at the party with your friends and we can figure something out.
I was a little annoyed and I mentioned how I’ve been waiting on standby and 11pm is too late and I also didn’t understand how he’s now going to a party, to which he said he was really sorry and that his friend bought him a ticket and it’s his birthday blah blah blah. I said ok, we can plan for another day then. And he said I’m really sorry, I’ll make it up to you. I just said ok, and the conversation ended and i hung up the phone.

Idk how to handle it, I’m so irritated. I don’t want to overreact at the same time I don’t want to let it slide. We’ve been talking for less than a month. I have already expressed my dissatisfaction with this so I don’t want to keep bringing it up over and over. Part of me wants to pull back a little. Is he just a bad planner? We can’t do tomorrow because he lives an hour and half away so that means he’d have to drive back tomorrow again after driving my side today so if anything it might be mid week.

How can I handle this in a grown way? TIA

How long is it realistically taking currently taking to land a CSM role?

I have 4 years of experience currently employed and looking for a different CSM role. I’ve been looking since May this year, landed 2 interviews but didn’t end up getting any of the role. I just wanted to do a market check to see how long it’s taking others to land one. I’m in Canada if it helps. How long did it take you to land a $90k+ CSM role and how much experience did you have? TIA.

Would you take a CSM role that’s just being created?

I’m in the market for a new role and I’ve been at my company for 4 years as a CSM so I have about 4 years of experience. I have an interview for a new CSM role and it’s a new role that’s being created to support growing accounts or business if you will. I looked at the company and there is currently only 1 CSM who was an AE previously. Part of me feels like this could be a challenge where I can have influence on how responsibilities can be structured but part of me feels like this could be a dumpster fire. Anyone else been in the position of being the first or second CSM at a company? What has been your experience?

Salary range posted is $75k-$90k in Canada

Went through 5 rounds of interviews and no offer

I just received the dreaded email, after careful consideration we’ve decided to go with another candidate more aligned blah blah blah. After 5 rounds of interviews, a generic email sounds cold but it is what it is I guess. I was really hopeful and thought I was going to land this one. I’m grateful I still have a role, but I see a PIP coming soon so I need to land one soon. There’s no reason for this post, just feeling beat and defeated.

Edit: I’m thinking of sending an email asking for feedback and adding something along the lines of a generic email after 5 interviews isnt right. What are your thoughts?

Almost at the finish line. Hiring managers and VP's, please help

I have a final in person interview for a CSM role tomorrow. The interview has been scheduled for an hour and it will be with the sales director, a Sr CSM in person and then VP of customer success for 30 mins virtual.

For those who have made it, what has worked for you and for those who did not make it at the final round, can you share the feedback you may have received or why you did not end up getting the role?

What does the sales director and VP's want to see to give someone the role. I have a 90 day plan that I am planning to bring, but I am not sure if that would be relevant to the sales or the VP.

I am at point where I really need this role so I could use all the help I could get. I have been a CSM for 4 years now and ready to leave my role. I was interviewing with another company (my 2nd choice) and I did not make it after the panel round so I am very nervous to miss this one as well. Also, my HR rep has not been responsive. I had to follow-up to get the invite and address for the final interview after I had been notified that I made it to the next round so that also causes some anxiety for some reason.

Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Could friendship loyalty be at play here or he’s just not that interested

I’m trying to figure out if I’ll just be wasting my time and save myself the heartache.
I (31F) met this guy at a concert last year. How we met is me and my friend hung out for a bit at the concert with him and his friend. We all exchanged socials. I liked him (34M) but his friend liked me. His friend tried to purse me but I told him I wasn’t interested so me and the guy I liked spoke randomly and sporadically over the year.
He works in and out of town and this weekend I saw he was in town, I responded to his story and he was like can you come hang out if you’re free. I wasn’t doing anything so I was like sure. He had gone out with his other friends (the other one who liked me wasn’t there, also he told me that they aren’t really close like that and he hasn’t spoken to him in a while) and we all hung out but we spent some time alone.
The chemistry was there, and we were flirty and touchy. He told me he liked me but never really pursued because his friend had told him that he liked me and was planning on pursuing me but he could tell that night that at the concert we met that I was leaning towards him.
Anyways, nothing happened between me and the friend, we never even went on a date. Him and I ended the night with a kiss.
We’ve been texting, it’s a bit sporadic in the sense that he takes a while to respond and the conversations aren’t that productive or progressive. He hasn’t suggested the next meet up so it almost feels like idk when I’ll see him. At the same time the fact that I’m confused feels like an answer especially in our 30’s.
Also, he told me that he was in a situation thing during the past year as well.
Is this going anywhere or I could just be wasting my time? Help

No offer after long draining process

Just got a rejection email. I thought I nailed the interview. They provided some feedback which was concrete examples demonstrating strategic account management, commercial impact, and a structured approach to driving customer growth and expansion. I had the interview with the sales team, the director and the sales manager. I do appreciate the feedback and I’ll be incorporating it moving forward but this was after an initial assessment, HR discussion, case study for a success plan and a panel interview. The pay was good too, a huge jump for my current one so this was a bummer. I’m waiting for feedback for the other one I interviewed and now I’m scared to shits that they won’t move forward with me. I’ve been in my role for almost 5 years now and looking to leave. I’m just sad

31F and single, struggling with marriage pressure

I’m 31 years and have lived in the UK for about 10 years now. I came here when I was 21 to join my parents who had been here before me. I heard my mom on the phone talking to her sister vachiti my child is single and in her 30’s zvinenge zviri kuramba toita sei? I even heard her say hapana a lady anosvika 30 years without being married by choice. Tbh my heart broke when I heard that. She doesn’t know I heard so I’ve just been silently sitting on it. I thought my mom was more open. When she’s talking to me, she doesn’t say all these things she just says when it comes to marriage and the right person it’ll happen in God’s time so it’s like she feels sorry for me lowkey but doesn’t want to say it to my face. Now all of a sudden I feel pressure but I don’t think that’s the way to go about it.
Edited to add: I do want to get married but I wasn’t feeling like I’m running out of time or that I’m 30 or this and that, I was more just living my life and eventually meet the right person in due course. Now what’s heavy is kuti she feels pity and doesn’t directly say it to my face and how she’s talking to other people about the potential yekufambira because it hasn’t happened yet

What are the odds that I’ll be placed on a formal PIP?

I had my 1:1 with my manager who had some concerns about my performance. I do accept that there are areas where I can improve but being placed on PIP came quite as a shock. He had mentioned some areas for improvement and I was making those changes and the second time we had the conversation on performance was a PIP, and he hadn’t given me feedback regarding the changes I’ve made based on the feedback he had initially shared.

When he was placing me on PIP, he said I see you’ve made some adjustments but it’s not quite there yet. I’d like to say that, I’ve been given feedback about performance before and there were times where I felt that my manager was pushing me to grow, but with this manager I feel oversighted and almost all our conversations centre around things I should do, not so much as feedback rather next steps so I honestly don’t feel encouraged.

Today he followed up on a message he had sent an hour after I hadn’t responded, it just felt a bit much since I’ve rarely been unresponsive to teams messages. Anyways during the conversation when he put me on PIP, I asked if we could try a blueprint improvement plan before moving to a formal PIP since I wasn’t aware of how sever he perceived my lack of performance and that he also hadn’t given me feedback. He said he’ll ask manager to see a path forward.

Here’s the thing, my manager’s may is out of office for the next two weeks. So what he said to me was — let’s continue working together, I see that you’re making progress and I’ll share that with my manager.

I’m making improvements and I’ve been trying, but I’m not overly confident. Will I still be placed on PIP? Or if I continue making improvements it’ll for go being placed on one? Technically I haven’t been placed on PIP yet.

What are options here in terms of outcomes? I’ve been with the company for 3 years and I’m in Canada. TIA

PIP Pending

I’ll be starting a new role in few weeks and I was planning on being OE for maybe a month or two to catch up on some debt. Reason I was planning for only a month or two is because my new role will be hybrid with 3 days in the office, plus my current job has meetings, not too many but enough. Now here’s the thing, last week, my manager brought up my performance and that he will be putting me on a performance improvement plan. I’m not the best worker I’ll admit, but I was quite shocked. I expressed this to my manager and asked if we could explore other alternatives before a pip since I wasn’t explicitly provided feedback on my short comings. Thankfully my manager was understanding, he gave me specific feedback and I’ve picked up slack. He said he recognizes the changes and he appreciates that. But, my performance is most likely to go down again because I’ll be starting a new role. I plan to take time off for on boarding and do the bare minimum for a month before I put in my two weeks because I’m excited about the new role and I want to try to give it my best. I’m now feeling anxious, I know I’m being monitored so work feels stressful, at the same time, and extra month or two of the extra income could really really help. Any suggestions? Anyone been in this situation? Would you recommend I just throw in the towel? I don’t think I can mentally handle another performance conversation especially after begging for a second chance.

CSM hiring managers, what do you want to see or hear from a candidate during an EBR mock interview?

I have a 2nd round panel interview with the VP, team lead and a Sr. CSM where I’ll be presenting a mock EBR. They given me the instructions and the summary is basically how our services have been instrumental in driving positive business outcomes. I’ve been a CSM associate level for 4 years and I’m interviewing for a CSM role. I’m genuinely excited for this role and tomorrow I’m role playing with my cousin for practice to polish my speaking skills. Question is, if you were on the panel, what would you look for? What traits are you looking for from a successful consulate? Thanks in advance

I can’t wait to start OE

I’ve been a long time lurker and always wished I could get another job because you know, times are tough. I started applying, had a couple of interviews and will hopefully land an offer soon (fingers crossed). I’m currently working remote full time, and I’ve been in my role for 4 years. I’m not an overly strong performer but I know my way around J1.

The potential new role will be hybrid 3 times in the office, which is what I was looking for since I felt like I needed a change. I was starting to get depressed just being at home all the time so I think this will be good for me. I plan to only OE for one month (or 2 months if I can stretch it) since J1 has a couple of meetings during the week, (though I’m the one who schedules them) and idk what J2 could look like. I also kinda care about my performance at the new job so that’s why I’m saying I’ll may be able to do it for only a month (or 2 if I can).

I know it sounds like I’m dreaming and counting my eggs before they hatch but I’m just so excited to be able to pay off my debt and not have to pinch every penny or miss out on life. I’d be grateful if I can even only do it for 1 month to catch up a little bit. Also, I’ve read tonnes of advice here; I’m planning on taking the first week off from J1 and since now I only have J1, I’m working extra hard to catch up on items I’ve been slacking and mentally noting which meetings to move beyond 5pm my time (since other people are in a different time zone) for days I’ll be in the office. I have my work email and slack on my phone already so I can be responsive. I’m also saving my PTO days as well.

There wasn’t a specific reason for making this post, but please pray for me y’all so my wishes come true and I can be one of y’all for a month (or two).

Upcoming CS interview - first round

I have an interview for a CS role on Monday. I haven’t interviewed in over 4 years as I have been at my current company for 4+ years. This is the first round, and I’m assuming it’s with HR. I’ve been a CSM for 4 years so I have some experience. I’m feeling very nervous and don’t know what to expect. Can anyone share how best to prepare? What kind of questions to expect or any tips really. Thanks in advance.
