I have a 9m old female gargoyle and I have her in a 11 gallon bioactive right now but I’m worried it’s too small, i generally can’t tell and am wondering for peoples advise
i’m setting up my gargoyle geckos new enclosure and I’m using sticks from outside But I’m not sure if this one is safe. It is covered in a thin type of moss looking thing, but I’m not sure what it is honestly. I already put all the wood in my oven and I thought that would get rid of it, but it stayed on that stick. I’m just wondering if this is a bad thing and I shouldn’t use that one? thank you guys
This is Sydney, my first gecko. I got her at an expo this morning and honestly wasn’t completely prepared. I’ve done a lot of research into them because I’ve always wanted one. But I don’t have a setup ready for her. She is under a year old so I was planning on getting her a 15 gallon tank, but if anyone opposes to that, please let me know. i’m also still wondering about lighting. i’ve seen that they don’t need it at all as long as room temperatures are between 75 and 80. but I’ve also heard that some like a basking spot or UVB, so I’m hoping someone can help me out there! Thank you guys
This is my 3ish month old louie. Honestly not sure exactly how old but I’ve hadhim for two months now and he hasn’t shed. he’s not gone into blue or anything just hasn’t changed much. I’m confused though because he has grown. he’s around 15 inches and when I got him he was a lot skinner. I feed him a pinky once a week and maybe should try two? he always still seems hungry after but i thought he was too small still, so just wondering if anyone has info to help
I have a Florida king snake and I got him this 50watt halogen bulb because I heard its better to have overhead heat. he’s never seemed too interested in any kind of heat source I give him, but I wonder if that was because they all didn’t give off much light. this one does and I have it over a rock so hopefully he will use it. If anyone knows this bulb isn’t good or won’t work please tell me
I have a young brooks kingsnake, and I’ve been struggling to get him to have a good temperature gradient. it’s hot in Michigan right now so without the heat lamp it’s like 80 degrees, which doesn’t allow for a good cool side. I need tips on that if anyone can help. the biggest problem is that he doesn’t have a good basking spot because if I turn the heat lamp on, the tank gets too hot. I’ve been leaving it on to heat up his rock so he has something, but I’ve never seen him on it. I have the heatlamp set up to turn off when it hits 82 air temp, but idk if that’s a good idea. I was wondering if the light I’m using is okay, it’s a 60watt black bulb. I have UVB i dont think that’s the problem though. If anyone has any suggestions, like a heat pad connected to the themastat so it does get too hot? Or like a cooling method just for one side so I can let the heat stay on the other side. Thank you guys!
My 3 month old brooks was in a 10 gallon and I just finished switching him into this 25 because ik they grow so fast. I was wondering though if anyone had any ideas on things I did wrong or ways to upgrade it further. Also, is aspen okay or should I switch to eco earth like I used for the background?
Hey guys, I’m looking into getting a schneiders skink but I can’t find a ton of info on it. I want a lizard thatll be somewhat happy to come out and hang out with me. My only reptile is a kingsnake and he definitely doesn’t love handing yet… So I was wondering if anyone who has one can answer some question about them. 1. Are they really that happy to come out? Some videos I’ve seen says they love being held and coming out but idk if that’s true. 2. Do they have to be in pairs? I only have room for one but Ive only seen them together. 3. Is 80-83 degrees okay? Ofc I’ll get a heat lamp but in the summer my room gets super hot so idk if that’s all good. Anyone who can help I’d love to hear any advice thank you!
Hey guys, I have a few questions about my new brooks I picked up at a show around 3 weeks ago. Hes really young, probably under 2 months and is still pretty skittish but getting better fast. I have been following Lori‘s choose based handing so hopefully I can get me used to me. One question I have is when I should upgrade his tank, he’s in a 10 but already grown soo much and is very active. I have a 25 lined up and was wondering when to switch him. another question was how bad do I need to get him a background? He clearly messes with his reflection and idk what kind of background to give him fair his tank is all glass. Thank you guys if anyone can help much appreciate! I know you can’t tell in the pic but the rock in the back is hid he loves it
