What are your thoughts on Heroes Killing their Enemies?

I am still working on my webcomix, I can't tell much about it but what I can say is that my story has a lot of action in it, the Heroes fight their enemies by violence as in any action story, now, the thing that worries me is if it is fine to make my characters kill their enemies.

With what I can briefly explain with my characters and the my world building goes like this;

My characters dont like killing Innocents or civilians, even thugs but if killing is required to save the day, they will out of duty to protect others, never out of pleasure in killing

Yet, there are some Magic enemies which are irremedeable since they are magically and naturally evil, No talking or mercy will stop them from killing innocents and the Main Characters, it is beyond their nature ( think of it like Majin Buu from Dragon Ball or Ganon from The Legend of Zelda) Would you say that it is fine for my characters to kill these enemies in order to protect innocents, themselves and save the world or not? Would you say it is fine that a character can both spare or just beat up casual enemies but are willing to kill the magical ones?

On the other hand, there are stories where Heroes are constantly killing their Enemies

Lord of the rings, Naruto, Demon Slayer, Jojo's Bizarre Adventures.

So what are your thoughts?

How would you do it?

How do you balance The Relevance between the protagonist and the supporting characters?

I am still in the process of writing my story, as any story it has a protagonist and the side characters that support them, but, what seems to be the easiest and most obvious thing to know and master,I simply don't know how to it properly; balance relevance or protagonism between the protagonist and the Supporting cast.

I am scared that two possible outcomes can happen;, either I make my protagonist outshine the other characters, making them feel useless, filler or wasted, and at the same time, my supporting cast turns out to be more interesting and useful than the protagonist.

PD. Especially the last point since my protagonist is a rookie in the surrounding circumstances while the supporting characters have experience and knowledge in how to deal with all obstacles, therefore I am scared of my Protagonist feeling like a burden or luggage.

How do I deal with this?

How do you make An Idealistic Character fight the World that surrounds them?

In my story, the Protagonist has their vision for a better world and future, since their world is full of evil and corruption, they decide to become the change of this world and found a Religion/Cult/Ideology/ Philosophy to change the world, many people are inspired by them and decide to join.

However, I am not sure how to do this, I have heard that it is OK to make characters disagree with the idealistic character but at the same time I am scared that would make them too rebellious but at the same time I dont want to them to follow orders blindly or be like robots, I still want them to be humans.

The protagonist has more like a master or teacher role and the side or supporting characters are their students.

At the same time,I know that the tension is that the world doesn't bend to the idealism of the protagonist but instead both clash with each other, but I am also scared that my Protagonist always proves to be right or like their way is the ultimate way and other Philosophies or Ideologies are wrong or evil just because they are not my Protagonist's Philosophy.

The other option is that since he is the heart of this philosophy, In theory he is the only who knows how to respond to the World since he is still mentoring his students,But I don't want to have a useless side cast either.

Any tips or thoughts about this?

I feel hopeless by looking at this

So I am an agnostic in secret. My family doesn't know about my current beliefs,so today We went to a church that we were invited to go to and oh boy,I saw this whole crowd and really depresses me thinking how hard and long will take for this religion to be gone,I try to tell myself that every day more and more people are waking up from this lie or something like that but then I see this and I really think that all this system or religion will be Eternal.

What are your thoughts on slow burn Beginnings on a webcomic?

I am still in the process of making my story,( I am intending to make a webcomic) I barely am in the process of writing it,thing is that I don't know if my beginning is too slow,I won't give much details about it, Yet since I want to keep it as secret as possible but the little bit that I can share is that it is about action and there are fights,But my story starts introducing the main character and what their life is like in the first episodes, however, you don't see the action and the stakes of the story are not introduced until chapter 3.

And let's say that my pacing style is more like slow burn instead of quick hook like most mangas or comics,I might say its way to introduce stakes and characters is similar to movies or TV shows instead of a Webcomic

The other reason why i do it like this is because I have the idea or the thought that Quick Beginnings are too simple or flat, therefore they have to be more complex or flesh out the Characters more before starting the Main Conflict.

So,what are your thoughts?

Should I change and adjust it or i can keep it the way it is?

How do you know when to keep or overcome a flaw in a character?

As writers,we are always told to give flaws to our characters, since they are as imperfect as us,makes them more human, create challenges or conflicts in the story, etc.

Edward Elric overcoming arrogance and Pride in Full Metal Alchemist

Spiderman learning Responsibility

Aang accepting hid Role as the Avatar from. Avatar the last airbender

Yet,there are other times that a character keeps having a flaw for the rest of the series, and nothing makes them change

Vegeta is still prideful and arrogant in Dragon Ball series

Batman is still hurt by the death of his Parents.

Steve Rogers/ Captain America never gets used to the modern era.

Zuko is still awkward and edgy in Avatar the last airbender

Etc

So,how do you know when it is good ti keep a flaw in a character and when it is time to make a character overcome it?

Watching a clip of Deltarune Chapter 5 and noticed...This

I was watching a clip of the scene when Aqua and Seth runs into the fun gang for the first tims, when that happens, aqua does a flip and Then for one second, she looks like this, which reminds of the cage with human parts in chapter 4.

I know that many people already conclude that Aqua could be a hint to the way that Kris was in the past but I don't know if anybody else noticed this

Did Ancient Stoics viewed Stoicism as the ultimate truth or they thought they were just another path in life?

I have been wondering about this recently, did ancient stoics believed that stoicism had the ultimate truth in life or they actually thought that it wasn't perfect and but still chose to follow it?,

Writing for fun vs Writing good

I have been writing my story in the last months,I have always wanted to make a story to show to everyone and stuff like that,I have studied storytelling, pacing, character arc, character development, etc.

Now,I must confess that since I have been a kid,I have never cared much about stories having good writing or being perfectly or even well made,as long as the story and content was fun to me,I was fine with it,now since I started to write my story,I have felt the burden of making everything good, well developed, well pacing, keeping an eye on characters arcs and development, good arcs, etc, etc. and honestly,I know that this is good and stuff, but there are points where I feel that I am making something for others instead of myself, like I am writing it to impress and be approved by others instead of writing what I want to make in my story or writing whatever fun thing i want to write,I have been in this dilemma recently, how do you guys deal with it?

Fear of someone else making your story first?

I don't know if this fear is normal and is more common that many people think, but since I started writing my story,I have been anxious that if I don't finish it soon, somebody else will make the same story too, that includes characters designs, backstories, personalities names, arcs, even the name of the series, don't you guys have the same fear?

I wonder that If this is the case, how can companies, studios or other authors take years developing their stories knowing that someone else can release before they do and therefore they will either have to throw away everything or change everything

How do i make my audience care about my story and characters if I dont have funny moments?

Humor is a tool that is used by many Authors and writers to make you feel relieved in a story after so much stress or intensity, make you connect with the characters or world, etc. But the thing is that I have never been someone with a good sense of humor, even as a kid,I always preferred emotional honesty and seriousness in the story to comedy or silly moments( with few exceptions for course) It's not that i hate Humor,I love laughing and when a scene makes me laugh, great. But I always preferred when the story took itself seriously. Now that I am making my story, there have been times where I have been constantly thinking of making a fun scene to relieve the tension or make the audience care about my characters,Sometimes I think of a good one, while other times I can't think of good humor, since the only humornthat I can think of is like very absurd or silly for my taste and therefore I think that the audience might dislike it or something. But at the same time I dont want to be 100%, edgy either, so I can't find a way to be funny naturally and at the same time,I want my audience to care about the characters and story

There are many tv shows from few to barely existent funny scenes that are loved by many people Andor Star Wars TV Show

Better Call Saul (from season 3 forward)

The punisher

Black Mirror

The Wire

They got some humor but it is a few of them ,yet they are loved by many

What is the secret?

How do I know if Something in my story is good enough? How can I know if I have to expand it or not?

So the thing is that I have always liked simple stories, since I was kid, simple themes, characters, etc.I never cared much about Good writing or character development or stuff like that until I became terminal on the internet.

Now,the thing is that I have been very perfectionist in my life,in everything,so now as a author or writer,I am scared of making my story very simple, like, making everything straight to the point, clear or not too complex.

It is like my mind is asking me to make the most complex and best structured story ever or else people will hate it for anything.

For example

If I were the director of the Prince of Egypt,I would have thought that the movie wasn't good enough for the audience since it wasn't very complex, scenes were kinda simple, even when characters argued I would have thought that their arguments were too short or not deep enough, side characters need big arcs for the story, scenes of Moses and rameses were not many enough, etc, etc.

It is like my mind can't find a way to determine if a scene, dialogue, character, goal, etc is good enough for the audience to understand or care about.

How do I know?
