Dead Star - Muse (Bass Cover)
I have another bass cover, Dead Star. This is one my favourite song by Muse, so I had a lot of fun covering it, and trying to get a gnarly tone for it!

I've always struggled to find a tab for MK Ultra that matches what I hear on the record. Most versions are close, but there are a few small details that seem to get missed. So I decided to work it out myself and put together my own tab while recording this cover.
Really fun bassline to play, and one of my favourite riffs from The Resistance era.
Bass: Status Graphite CW-2
Effects: Line 6 Helix LT, and ToneX

I've recently released a bass cover for Survival.
This is one I've wanted to do for a while, especially since Mixing With The Masters showed off the isolated bass track. I was always curious whether Chris used a Big Muff or a Woolly Mammoth on the song. It turns out it was just the Big Muff.

Hi,
Another week, another cover. This time I tried to match Chris's Live Bass Tone for the song.
For this one, I'm best guessing that Chris was using the Pigtronix Disnortion pedal, which I don't have. Instead, I used the Clawthorn Drive in the Helix LT, on the Fuzz setting. There more going on to achieve this though, with multiple clean tracks, EQing , and Amp sims.
When you listen to the live performance, and compare, I think I'm pretty close.
This one I had fun with. Let me know your thoughts
This is my bass cover of Will of the People by Muse.
I’ve been spending way too much time lately experimenting with fuzz bass tones through the Helix, trying to get somewhere close to that aggressive Chris Wolstenholme-style sound without everything collapsing into a muddy mess once it’s recorded.
After a ridiculous amount of amp testing, cab swapping, EQ tweaking, and generally second-guessing everything, I think this is the closest I’ve gotten so far. It still has that dirty, fuzzy edge to it, but without losing all the clarity and low end underneath.
Interested to hear what people think of the tone.
Just uploaded a bass cover of Cryogen by Muse.
Really enjoyed learning this one after the official video release.
Would love to know what other Muse songs people would want to hear covered next.
