Hello, so I had my consultation in july , paid my retainer fee . When I paid I was told they start to work while you are still making payments. Fast forward to today the lawyer was very cold. Every time I brought up addressing my student loans in a separate proceeding he stated that it wasn’t possible and kept shooting me down basically saying it’s not possible. Then he stated that they won’t know what I will qualify for or look at paper work to officially qualify until I pay the full 2,900. We are near the median income due to the overtime the past couple of months. I just find it rude they can’t even look at paper work to decide. I don’t want to end up in a 13. Anyone have lawyers they worked with in pa that work through a payment plan? I probably won’t file now until march because that’s when I finish school.

I finish my masters program in February , should I wait to file until then? Nothing is really changing between now and then income wise just not sure

Hi everyone. I’m in such a bad place financially and mentally. Long story short I should’ve left years ago when I was pregnant with our first. I was only 22 and it just seemed impossible. He definitely was cheating even if it was just on the phone. Fast forward when we had our second kid we had many issues throughout my pregnancy and then after I had the baby he left me packed his things and ended up coming back the next day. That was almost 4 years ago. Since then any time I ask him something or don’t like something etc it’s just leave me why didn’t you leave , what do I need to do to get you to leave ? “You’ll never leave me you lack the confidence no matter what I do “I know I cannot stay in this forever unless something drastically changes but it always goes back to this. We’ve been together since high school. I don’t have many friends he really is the only person. I am a teacher and I’m just scared that I’m going to lose everything I worked for because I can’t afford it on my own. We also are having financial struggles and looking in to filing for bankruptcy. I find myself feeling sad even when we go places that weve been prior as a family because it just feels fake. It felt much happier before. I have a bad tendency of just protecting my brain and after something bad happens just shutting it out and living in lala land and denial but it’s getting harder and harder to do so. It just feels so scary ti give up and leave its almost like i feel i dont deserve it. I dont know how to describe it. He also works a totally different work schedulek than me. My anixety is through the roof and feelm downs and wishing i wouldve had the confindence 4 years ago. Im 29 and it just feels terrifying to start over after being with someone for almost 13 year

So I’m filing chapter 7 I am married but my preparer filed me head of household because we were looking at separating . Could I go to jail? Or do I just have mend and pay back

My husband and I were thinking of separating last year we ultimately stayed together but the tax preparer filed me HOH . We are filing chapter 7. Will the trustee look be weary about this ?

I’m starting the process on the 18th. I haven’t graduated yet but the payments when I do are going to be far more than we can afford monthly. I’m nervous my attorney won’t work with private loans . I don’t expect them to be fully wiped away but I definetly need help with the interest and the total itself. I already paid my retainer but the more I research Mabye I should’ve went with someone who does specifically student loans. I have a lot of other debt that will be discharged but I’m going to be back to square 1 with my student loans. I’m getting so nervous that even though I need to file 100% if they don’t work with my student loans I’m going to be stuck for another 7 years.

Hello, I’ve recently saw how many student loans me and my partner have. He never finished college. I just have so much anxiety about repayment and our future. My brain goes to the worst possible thing ever like becoming homeless or getting a bank account seized. We are filing for bankruptcy due to out of control debt from our early 20’s . I’m just having such a hard time with it all. It feels worse during the day and I feel better relieved at night. None of this seems to bother him or he just doesn’t show it. Just wondering if anyone else feels this way. It’s hard to even function tbh I just feel like crying all day long

My husband defaulted on student loans in 2024 and 2025 . They are together 9,000 . Today I called up the default center and she said my payment would be 505 a month. We cannot afford that! Would it be better to consolidate? Or wait and do the IBR form? He also applied for borrowers defense today. How long should I wait to call them about that?

I am a teacher making 60,000 a year on paper. My husband makes 60-70 depending if he gets overtime. We have a ton of debt 11,000 in collections from a judgement . 20,000+ in other debt and more medical and I have near 130k in private loans . We also owe 2,500 to the IRS. Would I be about to file for chapter 7? I have about 2,000 in my savings but that’s literally it. We rent and have two kids. My car is paid off. When I try and refinance my debt is too high. I’m going to call but I wanted to reach out here. I think this would help us as our credit has been in the 500’s forever

Has anyone refinanced and then gone back to school? Is that an option for private loans? My private loan interest is insane but I need to continue my education

I’m 29 and started getting bad varicose veins when I was pregnant at 22. I have a huge one at the side of my knee cap going halfway up my thigh. It is such eye sore and uncomfortable. I also have one on the side of my calf. I have brought up my veins to my family dr and she’s never offered me a referral or what I am seeing as injections. How do I even go about this. Is super expensive ?

So I just ate a hard gummy and I got a raging pain in my tooth. It lingered and I took a drink of water and that hurt. I don’t know what this could be I just had a routine check up end of April and a filling on may 20th . Is it possible I cracked my filling or an abscess? It’s on my top teeth. 😭

Hello, I have a 2014 rav4. Today while in idle my car randomly turned off and all the lights went on. In the past this was caused by low oil but today the oil is fine. Has this happened to anyone else ? Freaking out at a potential high car bill. 😭

Last August I was served papers due to a debt from upstart loans from 5 years ago. I negotiated to not go To court however I didn’t realize that my rent and other bills were going to go up. I signed the paper work for 175 a month. However I can only afford 50$ a month right now. I have been making the 50$ payments . I am just worried that they can come after me again. I tried reaching and out and they said no negotiating. Not sure what to do other than continuing to pay what I can.
