Hi everyone,

I'm currently running an i7-13700K with an RTX 5070 Ti and 32GB RAM. I'm hitting severe CPU bottlenecks in large cities, and I'm planning to jump to the AM5 platform to get the absolute best performance possible for this game. I mostly just play games (very minimal streaming or editing).

My dilemma is: Ryzen 7 X3D (like 9800X3D) or Ryzen 9 X3D (like 9950X3D)?

  • Does CS2 actually scale well with the extra cores/threads of the Ryzen 9 for heavy background simulation and pathfinding?
  • Or does the 3D V-Cache do all the heavy lifting anyway, making the Ryzen 7 the smartest choice?

Basically, if I want the ultimate CPU for CS2 right now—max simulation speed and smooth 1% lows—which one should I buy?
