Hammock sleeper setup

I'm just thinking about getting started into overlanding, and I've got a couple thought I figured I'd bounce off this community.

I have a 99 Toyota 4Runner, no mods yet, and I had an idea for a hammock sleeper setup.

On the roof, incorporated with a rack potentially, have 4 receiver hitch style mounts, one on each corner or the rig. Have a beam slide through them left to right, let the beams slide out to one side and lock in, at the ends of the beams. Have telescoping poles to the ground and a cross beam between them at the corner. Hang a hammock between the poles, and run an awning over top.

When you're camped, the beams are slid out to the side with the poles to the ground installed, when driving, pack up the poles and slide the beams across the roof to the other receivers and lock in place.

I'm curious if any commercial like this exists or if I'd have to fabricate it myself.

First build ever. 1st gen Tacoma

I'm working on installing my first sound system. I've got a 1995 Toyota Tacoma Xtra cab that I'm working on sound deadening rn, previous owner installed a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X797 Head unit I plan on keeping, I'm installing some Kenwood Excelon KFC-X175 door speakers.

I'm looking for recommendations for an amp and sub. Once I install the speakers and finish the sound deadening, I may not even want a sub, but I plan on wiring for an amp and sub while I've got it apart.

Any recommendations and tips would be appreciated.

I'm looking mostly for good sound quality, rather than shaking the neighborhood with excessive bass.

Sound deadening prep question.

I'm installing new sound deadening material through the cab, got any good tips for removing the old tar based stuff?

Tusk pannier rack hardware.

I recently bought a Tusk Pannier rack secondhand, and it came without the hardware, since Tusk doesn't sell a hardware kit on its own, I'm curious what y'all would recommend. Anyone with the tusk pannier rack, I would appreciate measurements of the spacers so I could potentially fabricate some for myself if that's the direction I take.

While replacing my lbjs I buggered up an outer tie rod. So now I'm just gonna replace both sides since I don't know how old they are. Any recommendations as to where I should buy em?

Pulled up to the 4th of July breakfast I was invited to.

Asked the driver about it, they said it wasn't theirs. 🤔

Looking to get into carrying.

I don't own any handguns yet, but I was raised around firearms and I'm looking to get into carrying. Mostly I want to carry while riding my motorcycle I ride dual sport and adventure bikes mostly.

I'm currently looking at the Ruger LCR 9mm. I have a shoulder bag I could easily carry it in, but I'm open to other carry options.

I'm curious what others think. I like revolvers due to their simplicity, but I'm open to semi auto if good points are made.
