TIL somebody actually make a visual novel adaptation of the Communist Manifesto

So, in case you don't know what a visual novel is, it is basically, well JRPG's cutscenes, Persona 5 types, and make it into entire game. Riddiculously simplified explaination, I know

So, here it is: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3665800/The_Communist_Manifesto__A_Visual_Novel/

https://preview.redd.it/lixn48evn4kh1.png?width=1808&format=png&auto=webp&s=6918317e957472b99c9127313e2490e5a96add11

So basically, Marx read the Manifesto, and Engels answers any additional questions you might have. The game also include clickable glossary in yellow text for explaination and context. Pretty funny concept ngl, prob a more digestable way to read through the Manifesto for some

Why is the cardboard boxes (and its variants) so damn sturdy?

So, MG1, 2, and Solid 1 all have a cardboard box, which are all indestructible. MGS2 and later change that a bit, so the box actually will break apart after enough damages. However, they are still pretty damn sturdy, can take up to 5 or 6 shots before breaking apart. And don't get me started on the Cardboard Tank, Love Box (which is just bigger box, but eh), Waterproof Box, etc. Why are the boxes in this universe so damn sturdy?

How was the normal German's life in WW2 (or rather, under Nazi Germany rule specifically)

So as far as I can see, none of the movies ever focus on the normal German's life (who Hitler considered to be pure Aryan, basically), which make me curious. Doubt that media will ever focus on this, so...

How was a normal German's life back in Nazi Germany, especially after Fall of Warsaw and Fall of Paris, specifically. I'm also interested in the life of a normal German during Interwar and Barbarossa

Why is the anime's ending so different from the manga?

Might have been asked a lot of times, but here we go again i suppose

The anime is almost a 1:1 copy of the manga, except some added scenes and the ending.

In the manga, after Light got shot by Matsuda, Mikami loses all respect for Light, Light desperately try to beg Ryuk to kill everyone except him, and Ryuk wrote Light's name instead

In the anime, after Light got shot by Matsuda, Mikami stab himself with his pen, which distract everyone long enough for Light to get out. Ofc, Ryuk still wrote Light's name in the note, but it feels like Light managed to get some time to reflect on his actions

Now why are the endings so different? Does the anime change Light's character in some way I don't notice?

How would the story change if the Death Eraser exist in the main story?

First and only appeared in Kagami Taro (Pilot chapter, appear in DN13 and Short Stories), the Death Eraser allows the DN user to revive sb who has been killed by the DN, provided that the body hasn't decomposed or cremated by then. Assuming that the eraser does appear in the story, and Light somehow got ahold of it from the start, how would the story pan out?

I'd think that if Light does get the eraser, he'd revive Tailor (fake L, most likely to be revived imo since Light's prob spooked by the real L's speech) and Shibumaru (remember, at the start of the story he doesn't think that Shibumaru should be erased), and honestly I don't see Light ever use the eraser ever again beside those two. >!Maybe he'd also do a stunt to kill Misa before reviving her back.!< What do you all think?

Can the DN influence a person's personality?

It's abt the rules again. Rule IV, first bulletpoint:

>The person in possession of the Death Note is possessed by a god of death, its original owner, until they die.

Logically, maybe the author's just use the word "possessed" wrong, as Ryuk's role is presented as to be on the sidelines/sometimes do Light's bidding for apples. But the word possessed implied that the shinigami can takeover the DN's owner, or somehow influenced them. So does that mean Ryuk, other than dropping the DN ofc, play a part in Light's descent?

Light at the start of the story is shown as a model student. According to the story, from when Light get the DN to when Light meets Ryuk, 5 days has passed, and Light's already kill enough to fill at least 2 pages. And to when Light kills Tailor, at least a week has passed, and evidently he has developed quite an ego. It's somewhat believable ig

So can the DN somehow play a part in influencing a person's personality?

My findings after reading through all of the DN's rules

I supposed that this doesn't need to be counted as spoilers, since it's the rules of the DN

  1. Quite a lot of rules feels like it's for the reader, or in universe terms, the human DN owner. For example: ch6's rule stated that

>The specific scope of the condition for death is not known to the gods of death, either. So, you must examine and find out.

Also quite a lot of rules are abt the shinigamis themselves

Which means, either the DN was also intended for the humans to use too, or the authors wanna clear stuff out for the reader. Prob the latter

Also just found out that colored DN covers are more or less a commodities

  1. Questionable rules. So in ch9, the DN stated that the note will not affect those under 780 days old, or around 2.14 year old. But in ch10, the rules stated:

>Suicide is a valid cause of death. Basically, all humans are thought to possess the possibility to commit suicide

So, will a 3 y/o have the ability to commit suicide, even if they don't even know what suicide, the act of ending their own life, even is? Also this (retranslated ver)

>Neither suicide nor accidental death can cause a death that directly results in the death of anyone other than the person whose name is written. If it would cause the death of another human being, it would be a heart attack under circumstances where the person named would not cause the death of a third party

What counted as "directly results in the death of anyone else"? Say, a taxi driver. If they were instructed to crash into a building, that, ofc, will directly result in the death of others. But if they have a heart attack while driving instead, that'd also directly result in the death of others, too, since, ya know, car accidents

Also, the fact that if you unintentionally misspelled a person's name 4 times, that person get a pass. Now, idk abt you, but shouldn't that means Shibumaru (1st person Light killed), be immuned to the DN? And also the fact that if you intentionally do so, you'll die instead. Technically, that shouldn't stop Light from asking a JP newbie learner or a kindergarten student from writing his name, since 夜神月, and the fact that his name is Light (pronounced Raito, but the 月 is pronounced Tsuki), shouldn't pose a problem for him

So that's all of the stuff I found interesting

...So, are MangaGamer VNs on Steam need a patch or not

So I'm browsing around on Steam, and I saw some MG titles, that are recently released nukiges (Welcome to a Sexy, Open World; Sleepless; Funbag Fantasy 4), with H screenshot in them. Compare this to Shiravune titles like Kuroinu, where the image is heavily censored. So does Steam ver of VNs published my MG need a patch?

What was Ho Chi Minh Thought tried to achieve?

So I'm a Vietnamese, and got interested in Communism. So I decided to tried to dig deeper, mostly trying to comprehend Marxism. Our country's ver of Marxism-Leninism is called HCM Thought, so I tried to dig deeper. I sincerely don't understand what HCM Thought was trying to achieve to say the least. According to Wikipedia, it's rooted in Marxism-Leninism, along with HCM's moral and Vietnamese culture, but that's about it

So what exactly is HCM Thought about?

How do I making any progress into the game?

Playing as Rome in Invictus, and every time I tried to play, I managed to kill and absorb some nearby faction, before one (typically some) of these happens:

- Epirus attack me along with its vassals in the Italian peninsular, and absolutely destroy me. Sometimes I managed to kill Epirus though

- A classic Roman Civil War broke out

- Etruria kills me

- My income goes negative and won't go up no matter what I does

- Most of my men become so goddamn corrupted cuz I keep bribing them and give them holdings (free hands too)

So... what am I supposed to do now?

Trying to format an external HDD as ext4 for file storage use, why isn't I the owner?

So I managed to get an old HDD from my previous laptop, intended to use it as a storage device. So I did that, and format the drive to ext4. Now for some reason, it only recognize root as its owner, and thus I have to reformat the HDD to exfat. Why does this happen?

What should I really expect from a Paradox grand strategy game?

Title. I have tried out basically the major grand strat games (EU4, HOI4, CK3, Vic3, Stellaris, Imperator) and the ending every time is my country gets annihilated or I don't know what to do next. I'm more of a Total War player, so I'm more or less on the more aggresive side, more warring/map painting stuff. So for me, this amount of excel spreadsheet is overwhelming, to say the least.

So what should I really expect from a Paradox grand strat? And which game should I give a try again?
