Are safety gates required on landing platforms?

I’m doing an audit of all our elevated surfaces, and noticed that we have a couple of tiny landing platforms on a silo. The way these landing platforms are constructed, IMO it would make the task of hooking/unhooking a harness more dangerous, and access is restricted to even put a gate. It’s worse for anyone who is a big back, I’m not sure you could even open the gate and physically get through it. Since there are cages on this setup it’s old school engineering, but I’ve been tasked with putting entry gates or chains on everything and I’m stumped. Are there any clarifications on this or specific guidance through ANSI maybe? Everything I’m finding seems to suggest it’s a requirement.

Anyone know anything about Ford Chainsaws?

There is someone locally with a couple of these. One looks like an Olssen and Rice? This one looks like it’s based off a MAC but not sure…again.

Adults crapping in a Public Pool during a kids field trip.

My kids are in a BGC and head to the next town over to visit the aquatic center for a day trip. An hour or so into the trip, (there’s probably 75-100kids) the pool is shut down. Apparently there were 2-3 preexisting middle aged guys there, and one thought it a fine idea to shit in the pool. The kids seeing a huge log in the pool knew what was up and immediately called it out. The staff shut the pool down to go fishing and to shock the entire pool/aquatic center, since it’s all connected. I guess the guys were getting razzed by the kids so much they had to leave, but the kids field day was basically over at that point and they had to come back.

Any nifty tricks to get this screw out?

This little hex screw is stripped out, and I’m trying to think of ways to get it out without damaging this oiler or grinding the head off. Any ideas? I don’t own a drill press.

Tips on crank seals?

I just discovered that the crank seal on the flywheel side of my 272xp was sucking a tiny amount of air, causing crap idle when warm. I pulled the old seal out and am ready to replace it. I put the original one in and don’t think I got it in right. Any tips or watch outs? I plan to bang it in with a socket of similar diameter, oil the seal with 2 stroke oil, and run the outside edge of the seal with hylomar, just in case there’s anything going on with the bore. I just want this fix to hold, since I really like running this thing..

Rack ideas using just 2x4/4X4 lumber?

I have a bunch of treated fence material laying around, and would like to build some racks without investing tons of money on brackets. Anyone have some good examples they’re willing to share?

Non-Safety Degree to CIH?

I’m a CSP and have been in EHS for 20 years. I’ve always been interested in becoming a CIH, but my course of study does not allow it. If I 100% wanted to become a CIH what would be the easiest/most effective path to complete this?

Am I missing a piece? Shindaiwa T282

I just got this trimmer back online and put the echo speed feed head on it off another trimmer. The top of the head (the side that faces up) is loose. Should there be a metal cap or spacer in here somewhere, that covers the gear drive?

Safety 3” tape gun?

Anyone have a good recommendation on safety tape guns? Where I work we’re having a rash of first aids, due to packers making contact with the cutter blade on their tape guns.
