Hey, my biological father was a Harvard alum for his undergraduate. My parents are telling me I should write him as legacy and he agreed because he thought it was funny and worth a shot.
Does this count for legacy?
The maps are everywhere. However have any people actually got disciplined for going through them? There aren't cameras in most maintenance tunnels. What is the current status from those who just graduated and those here. Starting to explore them here.
Hey all, I have tried many times to get reforger to work on my m5 pro. Unfortunately it gets stuck on a black screen for me when trying to use wine, with d3dmetal it throws an error due to an engine refusing to start. As far as I can tell it seems the problem has to do with failing to start Enfusion.
When it doesn't crash it instead hangs at input initialization. It seems there may be a wine way around it. I haven't yet figured this out though.
Has anybody with more technical work involving rendering engines/ games had more luck than I? Somebody tried to write a DLL however it did not help.
Hey, his rate my professor is rather rough. What was the experience in his course for those who have took him?
Hey!
I am looking into double majoring and trying the math BA MA program. My freshman Schedule consists of:
Honors Linear Algebra, Quantum Mechanics I, Classical Mechanics I and Lab, and my FYS.
I do not feel like I am taking enough courses. I did over 20 credit hours when I was in high school so it could simply be the change of pace. I will be using my transfer credits for Calculus 1-3 (via a Vector Analysis credit), Differential equations (at least ODE's but I have took both ODE and PDEs), and perhaps a history credit. Are there other suggestions? I have done a LOT of math at my university (up to graduate graph theory) as well as Modern Physics (1/2/Lab) at my university at home.
Is there any advice I should take advantage of given I feel my schedule is not packed enough but I can't add any more classes?
Hey all, I am an incoming freshman who did 40ish credit hours of mathematics at my dual enrollment university. I was wondering if there were unique classes at Hopkins that may satisfy general education requirements that is a unique class like a lab type or etc.
I am curious about neuroscience (as I know my fields relate) and if there are any neuro classes I may wanna take that help me progress my degree. I was told of the brain and cognition as well as language and mind which I am curious on taking. My advisor told me the class on cognition is supposed to be difficult but like it sounds really interesting.
Thanks!
Hey guys I have been playing KSP on my MacBook Pro and it runs great. Are there good visual/ui mods I should use, or any mods for trackpad gestures? On the topic of UI, the notch covers the altitude indicator which isn't paramount but it is nice to see it, are there ways to see it on full screen ie moving it or a mod for MacBook?
Hey, I wanted to share a poor experience I had this morning with customer service.
first, i was charged for the 2hr delivery window. Second, it wasn’t reflected in the app nor website.
so I called the customer service. I was transferred to the international department, then I was transferred to the billing department, then I was transferred back where I STARTED.
i didn’t know it was such a difficult ask to have competent support personal for a $94 billion dollar business.
Hello all, id like to connect with my peers. Does anybody have the AMR II group chat link or so? Additionally others may choose to share the links to other dorms as well.
hey yall, I ordered a M5 Pro MacBook Pro 48gb memory today(unfortunately not 2 days ago as it cost me $500 extra).
How long did shipping take? The estimate provided says it will arrive between July 13-15th which is 15-17 days from now. This is my first big purchase from apple so I’m anxious about it.
For a student who will do computational physics work, does the 48GB memory with M5 Pro chip handle a mild computational workload okay?
I wanted to make a very clear post on how to make the 2026 laptop grant.
WHO: anyone receiving financial aid from Hopkins
How MUCH:they will cover up to $2000, the rest is yours to cover.
HOW: go to the sis, go to financial aid, go to forms, budget — request, laptop/technology grant, submit screenshot.
questions from me:
for those submitting them: should I go ahead and order the laptop given it will take a week to charge me?
how long does Hopkins take to direct deposit the refund given it’s setup in the sis from ticket creation during the summer?
thanks!
EDIT:
I was given an email saying the BAR was denied because you have to wait until July 1st.
