Need help planning a 3-day solo Banff trip without a car (public transit only)

Hi everyone!

I'm F and planning a solo trip to Banff over a long weekend and would really appreciate some advice from people who know the area well.

About my trip:

- Spending 3 days in Banff.

- No car, so I'll be relying on Roam Transit, Parks Canada shuttles, and walking.

- Staying in Banff (hostel is fine).

- Budget-conscious, but I'm happy to pay for experiences that are truly worth it.

I've already visited:

- Bow Falls

- Johnson Lake

- Two Jack Lake

- Quarry Lake (Canmore)

I'd like to cover as many iconic places as possible, along with hidden gems that locals recommend.

A few questions:

  1. What's the most efficient way to group these places over 3 days using public transit?

  2. Are there any hidden gems that most tourists miss but are easily accessible without a car?

  3. Is it worth booking a GetYourGuide tour for one day, or should I do everything myself using Roam Transit?

  4. Any hostel, food, or budget tips you'd recommend?

  5. Since the hostels and hotels are pretty costly, should I opt for day trips instead of a 3 day trip?

She moved to Calgary!?

I’ve recently moved to Calgary and I’m currently in the “excited tourist + slightly confused resident” phase.

Current stats:

-Confused but friendly

-Overuses Google Maps

-Excited about literally everything because it’s new

I am currently accepting quests like:

“Go try this hidden food spot”

“Survive this hike without becoming a news story”

“Find where locals actually hang out”

“Teach me Calgary slang before I embarrass myself”

Rewards I offer: gratitude, laughter, and maybe a follow-up post update
