What are your top 3 less known games?

Recently I've played a few games that I'd passed on because I completely misunderstood what they were.

Pretend the likes of Sony first party games, Red Dead Redemption, and Hollow Knight don't exist. Focus on the games you see recommended much less often.

  1. Blue Prince, I had no idea this was a roguelike. I'm not far into it, as I'm yet to even get a trophy, but it's incredibly moreish. It's unlike anything I've played before and honestly I probably wouldn't want to play anything like it again, but at the same time I can't wait to win.

  2. Frostpunk, I have my frustrations like this but again it's like nothing I've played in the city builder scene, with the focus being on survival rather than thriving. Really challenging but satisfying to ultimately win

  3. Puzzle Agent, a point and click without the pointing or clicking. Super relaxing time where "exploring" is simply holding R1 and selecting an option. Interactions are whimsical and nicely voice acted, the meat and potatoes of it all is traditional style puzzles. Don't find something in one screen and use it 3 hours later, walk into a room, click on the puzzle and solve it Professor Layton style.

Do you peel your mushrooms?

I'm in my mid 30s and I've only just found out some people peel mushrooms, and I wonder if this is a thing like how Americans wash eggs and Europeans wash chicken. I've probably eaten 100kg of mushrooms in my lifetime and not once has it occured that they have a skin to be peeled

How has something like ghost hunting/paranormal investigation become relatively mainstream?

In the digital age where things are now more than ever verifiably false, and given that there's obviously no hard evidence for it, how is there a legitimate following? Are more people than I realize just pretending as a role play? Has it stemmed from a religious background somewhere (I'm not in the know but I've never heard any ghost talk stemming from a faith)?

It seems like a much bigger industry than the likes of tarot reading, crystal balls, etc that are all of equivalent stature to me

I like the feed much better when I'm logged out, I pretty much don't like it at all when I'm logged in, how can I fix this?

Obviously I'm following more and more subs in an attempt to see things I want to see, but a small handful dominate my feed. I also get a lot of posts from subs I don't follow and have no interest in because I don't even understand what they are about.

I've tried deleting my account to start fresh but the delete button doesn't work for me

Are there any Devil May Cry like games on Premium (but no PS3 streaming) right now?

I haven't played any of these kinds of games since Bayonetta 2 on the Wii U but I can really imagine getting stuck in now. I've browsed the catalogue and seen exactly none that I recognise

Alternatively as there's a sale on, does the Devil May Cry collection hold up

What is the third choice multiplayer military FPS these days?

If you aren't buying Call of Duty or Battlefield, what is the third option? Historically they had rivals coming out yearly but what now is the competitor in the military FPS market?

What game on Plus (any tier) is the 'most' RPG of them all?

A complex but necessary level system, tough bosses, I prefer something strategic where you NEED to level, over action where you can get by on skill (e.g. Soulslikes)

Final Fantasy VII is the obvious one, what's the next?

I'm looking for modern adventure games on the ps5

My favourite style are the Sherlock Holmes games.

After that it's more traditional ones like Sam and Max. I've played pretty much all the classics I want to play already.

I did like The Walking Dead a little because it had interesting choices, but the actual act of playing it was very boring so nothing much like that.

Ideally I would love something similar to the Sherlock games

I've spent a couple of generations away from Playstation. I had an Xbox One last generation and when that gave up the ghost mid way though last year I finally picked up a PS5.

I loved playing Returnal. Astro Bot was great to play with my daughter and as good as the early Mario games I loved as a kid. Lies of P and Silent Hill 2 remake have been my other two favourites. I feel like that's where the classic style of gaming has ended though. I used to love pretty much every PS1/2 exclusive I could get my hands on. Now I think the format is heavily story focused or heavily open world focused and I don't like either. I find walking around and listening to story being told, or travelling from a to b to get a mission only then to head to c to be so tedious.

Are any of the PS or current gen exclusives on (any tier) in that classic style of linear but gameplay focused that you would recommend?

The Last of Us looked great and was fun to play, but way too much was just walking and listening. I like classic God of War, but the reboot looked similar to TLOU. Likewise Uncharted 4 looks gorgeous but upfront it was heavily railroaded for story purposes.

My all time favourite games are Half Life 2, FEAR, Max Payne, Goldeneye, Resident Evil 4 and Bioshock but I don't only like shooters!

Obviously a bit of story is fine, I even liked it in Silent Hill 2 because it was once in a while and a 2 minute cutscene. My favourite kind is Bioshock where it all comes via audiologs
