Donor egg sibling

I am considering using a donor egg to have another child. I have been struggling with secondary infertility for years and had a 3 cycle long unsuccessful IVF journey.

My questions are how did your parents tell you that you were donor conceived? What would you change about it? Do you have any advice for a parent who is considering using donor means to have a child?

The donor conceived child would have a sibling who was naturally conceived. If you are in this position, do you feel any different?

Any advice would be extremely appreciated.
Thank you all for sharing your experiences.

I hate threat and bribes.

I have a very strong willed, deeply feeling 4yo daughter.
A lot of times I feel semi confident in the strategies I use to parent her. The rest of the times I am exhausted and confused. One of those times was today.

We were at a friend’s pool. I had warned her several times that it was going to be time to get out. I had also set a timer.

Obviously she was not happy to get out (I should add that I am constantly naming her feelings, empathizing, etc etc etc.). And while we were getting dried off and ready to go she was angrily babbling about going back in the pool, and walking toward it like she was going to get back in. Not knowing what else to do I said if you go back in the pool you’re going to be in big trouble.

Now mind you, she’s never even been in “big trouble”, neither of us even know what it would look like— the most “trouble” she’s ever gotten in is to sit in a pottery barn stuffed chair to take a break. This worked but I hate that I have to resort to threats to get her to listen. Like ffs just listen.

Anyone got any good tips? I’ve probably tried them but it’s worth a shot!

TLDR: tired mom wants strong willed kid to listen without using the same tactics that the boomers used to raise us.

4 year old sleep

My 4 year old fights me on sleep every single night and I am really at my limit. I have tried every single thing possible.
If there is any kind of resource you could share, pls leave it here.

Just got back from a really great stay at Opal Sol and honestly, it exceeded expectations.

The rooms are beautiful—clean, modern, and the ocean views are kind of hard to beat. It’s one of those places where you actually want to sit on the balcony and just relax for a while.

The pool area is well done too. It never felt too crowded, and service was super easy—nothing over the top, just consistently good.

We ended up eating on property more than we expected because the food was genuinely solid. And being right on the beach makes everything feel really convenient.

What stood out most though was how smooth everything felt. The staff was friendly and helpful without being intrusive, and the whole stay just felt easy.

Definitely a spot I’d come back to.
