What's your favourite World Cup moment ever?

As a Belgian fan the 2018 World Cup still haunts me a little. We had that squad, probably the best generation we'll ever have, and we couldn't get it done. The Japan comeback was insane but losing to France in the semis still stings.

But outside of Belgium, Tshabalala's goal in 2010 does something to me every single time. That sound in the stadium, the vuvuzelas. A guy from Soweto scoring the opening goal of a World Cup on home soil. Nothing comes close for pure emotion.

Ronaldo's hat trick against Spain in 2018 is up there too. 3-3, last minute free kick, the audacity of it. That whole game was just beautiful chaos.

And Germany 7-1 Brazil in 2014 still feels unreal. Watching that live felt like something was broken.

Curious what this community remembers most. Doesn't have to be a goal, could be a match, a moment, a feeling. What's yours?

Fellow World Cup Fantasy managers, I built a Letterboxd for football matches and I couldn't think of a better place to share it

As a long-time football fan I always felt something was missing. Tweets about great games disappear. Reddit threads get buried. There's no real way to look back at matches that meant something to you.

So I built Fanalyzd. Log every game you watch, rate it, write about it, build a personal diary you can actually go back through years later. World Cup just started so every game from today counts.

Already have a couple hundred users ready for the tournament. Would love to see what the fantasy community thinks since you lot watch more football than anyone.

Free on App Store and Play Store. Drop a comment and I'll send you a promo code for premium free.

Had this idea for years, spent the last year actually building it. Released Fanalyzd right as the World Cup kicks off. Hoping this is the moment it takes off.

I've wanted to build this for a long time. A Letterboxd for football, log every match you watch, build a personal diary, go back through it years later.

About a year ago I finally started building it properly and Fanalyzd is the result.

150 users so far, about 20 coming back regularly to log matches. For a solo project with no marketing budget that feels like something.

With the World Cup just starting it feels like the right moment. You can log every game you watch from the group stages all the way to the final. Build a full diary of the whole tournament.

Free on App Store and Play Store. If anyone is interested drop a comment and I'll send you a promo code that gets you premium for free.

My first Reddit post got me 100 users instantly. My second, third and fourth got nothing. How do you play the long game?

A few weeks ago I posted about Fanalyzd, a match diary app for football fans, basically Letterboxd but for games you watch. Got around 100 users from that one post, about 20 of them coming back regularly to log matches. For a solo side project that felt insane.

Posted again. Nothing. And again. Nothing. And again. Nothing.

The World Cup kicks off in two days and I had really hoped to get a couple hundred more users before it started, but I genuinely don't know how to keep momentum going without just spamming the same thing over and over.

Has anyone figured out how to sustain organic growth after the initial spike? Do you just keep finding new communities or is there a smarter way to play this?

App is free on App Store and Play Store if anyone's curious.

I posted about my football match diary app a while back, 150 people signed up. Just shipped a World Cup update in time for Thursday.

A few weeks ago I posted here about Fanalyzd, an app I built basically because I wanted a Letterboxd for football matches. Didn't expect much.

150 people signed up from that thread. For a side project with no marketing budget that actually means a lot to me.

So I kept building. The World Cup starts Thursday and I just pushed a full update for it. You can log every game you watch, track which ones you attended, go through it all years later. Friendlies too, so if you've been watching the pre-tournament games you can already have a full diary running by kickoff.

150 users isn't viral. But it's 150 people who wanted the same thing I did. That feels like enough to keep going.

Fanalyzd is free on App Store and Play Store. Drop a comment and I'll send you a promo code for premium free.

De Bruyne tegen Brazilië is het mooiste wat ik België ooit heb zien doen. En we hebben het nooit mogen afmaken.

Lukaku receiving the ball on his own half turning and just starting to run. And De Bruyne finishing it against that Brazil at a World Cup & Courtois keeping everything out after that.

Hazard De Bruyne Lukaku Courtois all at their best. And four days later it was already over against France.

The best generation we ever had and we never got to finish the story.

The World Cup starts in a week. Do we have a chance this year? I built Fanalyzd because as a fan I wanted somewhere to keep track of what I experience — built by a football fan for football fans. It's basically Letterboxd for football matches. Log every match write what you felt share it with your mates. App Store and Play Store.

Check it out at Fanalyzd

anyone else write a short analysis of every game they watch

every football game i see, whether it's on the telly or I'm in the stadium, i write a short thing after, just what i thought about the press, the shape, why the manager made that sub, whatever stood out.

been doing it for a couple of years now and honestly it changed how i watch football. you start noticing things you'd normally just forget by monday morning. and the weird thing is going back through old ones and seeing how differently you felt about a player or a team five months ago. opinions you were convinced about that just completely fell apart.

only recently started keeping it properly in one place though, been using Fanalyzd for about a month. curious what you lot are using for this, if anything.

Three promotions in four years under the same manager. Same club that was rotting in League One not that long ago.

I don't want this era to blur. I already know it will if I'm not careful. What McKenna has done for us is going to be talked about forever and I want to still feel each game of it properly in ten years time.

That's genuinely why I built Fanalyzd. Diary for every match you watch. I've got our whole run logged and today I just sat and went back through all of it.
