Where do you backup kdbx online?

I wanted to have recovery access of my kdbx when i lost all of my devices, and stranded far away from home.

The one i think reliable is having my kdbx stored on veracrypt and put it on public github repo. So i just need to memorize 2 passwords.

I am thinking of storing it on cloud storage, but most of them is a bit annoying with their "suspicious login activity" things

So public github repo is the only reliable method i can think of. Plus, the attacker needs to crack my veracrypt volume first..

What do you think?

Lightweight Chromium browser for low-end phone?

I need browser recommendations for a low-end Android phone with a Snapdragon 625 and 3GB of RAM. Preferably Chromium-based and lightweight. I currently use Cromite, which is quite lightweight, but the lack of updates is becoming a concern.

Do AdGuard’s “Hide Referrer” and “Hide User-Agent” apply to all apps?

In the Protection tab > Tracking protection (Android), does anyone know if these two AdGuard features:

  • Hide referrer from third parties

  • Hide User-Agent

..only apply to browsers (when HTTPS filtering is enabled), or do they also apply to other apps whose traffic is routed through AdGuard?

Just wondering whether these settings affect all apps or only browser traffic.

This might sound like a stupid question, but how do I import bookmarks into Chrome on Android? There’s no “Import Bookmarks” option, because there is NO that three-dot menu

Thinking about switching back to Chrome. Is it better to just blend in?

I’m thinking about switching back to Chrome. My main concern is that Brave’s fingerprinting protection might actually have the opposite effect — making me easier to fingerprint because my browser setup becomes more unique.

Also, I’ve bought AdGuard’s Family Lifetime plan, so blocking ads and trackers would be AdGuard’s job.

So with the ads & trackers covered by adguard, would it be better for me to just use Chrome and blend in as an “average Joe” instead? Chrome is used by the majority of Android phones and tablets, so I feel like it would be a good place to blend in.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions.

How’s Edge’s battery usage & performance on Android?

For those who use Microsoft Edge on Android, how’s the battery consumption compared to Brave and Chrome?

Is Edge actually more battery-efficient, or is the difference pretty negligible?

And what about performance? Does Edge feel faster or more responsive than Brave or Chrome, especially when opening and switching between tabs?

I’ve heard a lot of negative things about Edge from other subreddits, but I don’t want to just take those opinions at face value. So I’d rather ask people who actually use it, especially on Android.

Should I turn off Brave's built-in ad blocker since I'm already using AdGuard app for Android?

Hey everyone,

So on my Android phone, I'm using the AdGuard for Android app (not just the DNS-based AdGuard you set up under Private DNS) with HTTPS filtering turned on for Brave.

I've read that running two ad blockers at the same time isn't really recommended — apparently it can be redundant, eat up more resources, and basically just makes both apps do double the work for nothing.

So my question is: should I just disable Brave's built-in ad blocker entirely by setting Shields to "Allow all ads & trackers"?

The catch is, I still want to keep Brave's fingerprint blocking feature active — if it wasn't for that, I probably would've switched to Chrome. So I can't fully turn Shields off either.

The setup I'm thinking of:

  • AdGuard app → handles all ad and tracker blocking
  • Brave Shields → only used for fingerprint protection (ads/trackers set to allow, since AdGuard's already covering that)

Does this setup make sense, or is there a smarter way to configure it so the two don't overlap or waste resources? Would appreciate any input from people who've dealt with a similar setup.

Thanks in advance!

I am using AdGuard + Brave’s built-in ad blocker, is it redundant?

If I’m already using AdGuard on my Android phone (with HTTPS Filtering ON for Brave app), is it redundant to also keep Brave’s built-in ad blocker enabled (either Standard or Aggressive)?

Would it be better to set Brave’s built-in ad blocker to "Allow all ads & trackers", while still maintaining fingerprint blocker, and just let AdGuard handle the ads & trackers blocking, or is there still a benefit to using both (AdGuard's Adblock + Brave's Adblock)?

I’m mainly wondering whether running both provides any additional protection or just results in unnecessary duplication.

EDIT: its AdGuard app for Android guys, not AdGuard DNS thats entered on Private DNS setting.

Is it normal for Zorin OS to use 200–300 MB of data after being offline for 2–3 months?

My laptop is running Zorin OS 18.1 Lite, and I rarely connect it to the internet — maybe only once every 2–3 months.

However, every time I connect it to the internet, the initial connection seems to consume around 200–300 MB of data. Is this normal?

At first, I thought my laptop might have a virus or some kind of malware. But then I remembered that it's Linux, and I always install software through apt and Flatpak. For software outside those sources, I only use trusted PPAs, such as for VeraCrypt and Fastfetch, or installed the .deb from developer directly.

Could the 200–300 MB usage simply be because the laptop hasn't been connected to the internet for several months? Maybe it's downloading updates, package information, Flatpak updates, etc.? Btw, i never set it to auto-update, thats why its strange.

Also, is there any application or tool I can use to monitor network/data usage per application, similar to the data usage monitor on Android? That would really help me figure out which application or process is using the data.

I'd appreciate any explanation or suggestions on how I can check exactly what is using the data.

Can AdGuard Firewall conflict with Xiaomi's internet access settings?

I have a question about the Firewall feature in AdGuard for Android.

On my Xiaomi phone, there's a built-in setting that lets me control an app's internet access. For example, I can set an app so it can't connect to Wi-Fi.

So let's say I also block that same app using AdGuard's Firewall. But in Xiaomi's settings, Wi-Fi access for the app is still enabled.

Would these two settings conflict with each other?

Basically, would Xiaomi still handle the system-level restriction, while AdGuard adds another layer of blocking, or could having different settings in both places cause some kind of issue/conflict?

Just wondering how these two firewall/network permission systems work together.

Low on storage. Should i use Chrome + AdGuard instead of Brave?

Due to limited internal storage, I want to keep only one browser on my phone. I currently have two installed:

  • Brave, which I use as my daily browser
  • Chrome, which came preinstalled

However, I noticed that with AdGuard app enabled, I no longer see ads on Chrome, even on news websites that are usually filled with tons of ads. AdGuard also blocks trackers, so Chrome feels much cleaner than it normally would.

If storage space were not an issue, I would keep Brave. But having two browsers takes up quite a bit of space—at least 1 GB or more.

I also tried using Shizuku + Canta to remove Chrome, but I found out that it only uninstalls the app for the current user; the Chrome system app itself is still there (it takes space you see).

So I'm starting to consider just using Chrome instead. Since I already have AdGuard installed and it blocks the ads and trackers, I feel like I can get a similar browsing experience without having to keep Brave installed.

What do you think?

Lightweight distro for Celeron N2840 & 4GB RAM?

Lenovo B40-30 with a Celeron N2840 and 4 GB of RAM, currently running Zorin OS Lite 18.1 (XFCE).

It can run Brave; it’s just a bit slow when loading web pages and opening certain apps. But overall, it works fine.. just a little slow.

I’m mostly just curious: could I squeeze out even more performance by switching to a lighter distro, such as Debian LXQt or antiX Linux?

Or.. could the processor be the bottleneck here?

Is "_etm_template_uuid" safe to delete in KeePass2Android?

I've been using KeePassDX all this time, and I recently started trying out KeePass2AndroidOffline as an alternative, mostly out of curiosity.

I noticed that some of my notes entries contain a field called _etm_template_uuid. This field didnt appear on KeepassDX, only appear on Keepass2Android.

Is it safe to delete this field? Does KeePass2Android use it for anything important, or is it just metadata that can be safely removed?

Thanks!

KeePassDX → KeePass2Android

I've been using KeePassDX on Android for a while, but I want to try another app that seems to have more features.

Would there be any issues with opening and using the same .kdbx file that I've been using with KeePassDX in KeePass2Android? Is the database fully compatible between the two apps?

Can I download Whizlabs AWS course videos using ytdlp/youtubedl for offline viewing?

I already purchased an AWS course on Whizlabs, but my internet connection is pretty bad. I’d like to download the videos later when I have access to a Wi-Fi connection, so I can watch them offline.

Is it possible to download the course videos using yt-dlp/yt-dlnis? Or is there another tool that can download them for offline viewing?

I’m only trying to download a course I’ve already paid for, not share or redistribute it. Here is the proof.
