What sexual changes should I expect after turning 45?
And can I do anything to reverse the negative course? I’m already experiencing a not so strong you know what. I’m also not thinking about sex as much as I did even a few years ago.

I don’t understand how he can go into the black hole and land in this tesseract that leads to his daughters room of all places. Help me, I don’t understand that.
I bought my first ever AeroPress! I want to start branching out of Folgers. I was gifted a few hundred dollars and would like to buy a nice quality scale and electric kettle. Would love recommendations. Perhaps even a coffee to try! I like lighter roasts. I was also gifted an Encore grinder.
Is it wiser if I want to retire at 47 years old, which is 3 1/2 years to pay off my house that has a 3.75 interest rate or to invest the money and something like a brokerage account?
My biggest thing is right now my house payment is The only debt I have. So I’m thinking it would feel more comfortable for me to retire at 47 with a fully paid off house along with knowing that I’m 100% disabled veteran so I won’t pay in my state any property taxes.
So if I retire that biggest expense is gone. What do you think?
I’m going to begin taking some daily for cognitive benefit. Which would is from a good quality brand?
I’m 43, married, have an almost 5-year-old daughter, work two jobs, and my wife has been battling cancer for the last couple of years. So life has definitely been stressful, and I know I’m carrying a lot mentally.
Lately I’ve noticed that I just feel a tick slower than I used to. I’m not talking about major memory problems or anything dramatic. It’s more like sometimes I’m trying to get something done and I can almost feel myself thinking, “Come on, move faster.” Mentally and physically, I just don’t always feel as quick or sharp as I want to be.
I’m 5’9” and around 250 pounds, so I know I need to lose weight. My blood pressure and blood work have been pretty good overall, although I am prediabetic. I’ve started taking my health more seriously and I’m walking over 10,000 steps most days. I’m also planning to start working out regularly and adding strength training.
I know some of what I’m feeling could simply be stress, lack of fitness, carrying extra weight, getting older, or just having a lot on my plate. But I don’t want to just accept feeling slower and say, “Well, I’m in my 40s now.”
For those of you who are 40+, what have you done that has genuinely helped you feel sharper mentally and better physically? Exercise? Strength training? Losing weight? Sleep? Diet? Stress management?
I want to be as healthy, strong, energetic, and mentally sharp as I can be for my wife and daughter. I’m trying to make changes now instead of waiting until I’m 50 or 60 and wishing I had started earlier.
I’m 43 and I can tell that my brain and my body are a little slower. Is this normal? Like sometimes I’m trying to do stuff and I feel myself moving slower. Like I feel myself telling my brain telling my body to move this way and I just feel a tad bit slower I don’t know if that makes sense. If so, how can I fix it?
I keep asking ChatGPT to help me create a project. It created part of the project. But when I’m asking you to develop the other part, it’s only giving me the instructions and then it stops. I keep asking it to do it over and over and it keeps doing the same exact thing it only goes to a certain point.
Any idea why this is happening? It’s not that it’s taking too long to respond. It’s just doing part of what I needed to do. And it stops in the exact same spot every single time. It knows it’s not finishing because I ask it and it says that it is sorry for not finishing. And then when I say, please do it again it does the exact same thing.
At my house, we have YouTube TV, Disney+, Prime Video, and Netflix. I always thought that not having cable and using streaming services was better financially, but I’ve come to realize it is not.
We want to fire but have never gone without any type of streaming service/cable TV in our marriage and really in our lives.
Have any of you totally cut out most of streaming services? What did you keep if any?
43 and I’m in need of life changing wisdom
I’m 43 years old, 5’9”, and currently weigh about 240 lbs. My recent A1C was 6.2%, so I’m officially prediabetic. My blood pressure is usually in the normal range, and I use a CPAP for mild sleep apnea.
Over the last few years, I’ve realized I’m not moving the way I used to. I feel slower playing with my 4-year-old daughter, and that’s been a wake-up call.
My goal isn’t just to lose weight. I want to become healthy enough that my daughter sees her dad as someone who’s strong, energetic, and capable. I want to get down to around 170 lbs, reverse my prediabetes, dramatically lower my risk of heart disease, improve my energy, sharpen my thinking, and simply feel athletic again.
I’ve listened to a lot of Huberman’s podcasts, but I’d love to hear from people who’ve actually made this kind of transformation.
If you were starting from my position, what would you prioritize?
Would you focus on:
Nutrition first?
Zone 2 cardio?
Strength training?
VO2 max work?
Walking after meals?
Sleep optimization?
Supplements that actually have good evidence?
Something else entirely?
I’m not looking for a quick fix. I’m willing to put in the work over the next several years if it means becoming the healthiest version of myself for my wife and daughter.
What made the biggest difference in your own transformation?

I have been using a Fitbit for four years now. I’m noticing that my HRV numbers are higher in the 30s when I do not wear my CPAP mask. When I wear my CPAP mask, my numbers are below 15. Has anyone else experienced this?
Good evening, I was honorably discharged after 10 years in the service. I’ve now been out 12 years. I’m at 100% disability and I am extremely grateful for that.
I have a Wife and son. My wife is unable to work after working for 20 years due to an illness. So I have been the sole provider since getting out, I work for my city.
My wife and daughter use Champ VA as the secondary insurance. I have insurance through my job.
We don’t have any large debt, the biggest that we have is some car issues that we had to pay with credit that are 0% interest for a year. We have 12 more years until we pay off our house and our mortgage payment is under $1000 a month.
We do OK but if I’m 100% honest, I am I’m starting to get tired. I see a therapist with a VA because of some of the things that I went through during my time in the Middle East during OEF.
I make about $65,000 in my job and $4600 a month from the VA. But I’m exhausted. Mentally from a lot of distress that trouble me daily that I can’t seem to shake.
So my question is, have any of you been in a similar situation as me and decided that you were just going to live off of your VA disability? If so, how is that going for you? Right now the VA takes care of all of my medical needs. I know we can do it financially, but I know it’s going to be tight but I also know at the same time will probably help me mentally if that makes sense. Thank you for reading this.
I’ve read studies showing that creatine may improve cognitive function, but I’m curious: if you started taking creatine for that reason, have you noticed any difference?
I was gifted an AeroPress and an Encore Grinder by a family member. I’ve been dealing with serious family health problems and they thought their gift could help lift my mind from constant stress.
So, I wanted to ask here, what is your favorite recipe or YouTube how to video to make a cup or Aeropress coffee? I’ve only been a k cup user.
Thank you in advance
We’re going to Epcot tomorrow. The park is closing at 11 PM. We had a long day today at Hollywood Studios and we’re contemplating not rope dropping Epcot. We wanna make sure that we get to ratatouille, frozen, and Moana rides.
Do you think wait times will be long if we wait to do those rides close to the park closing?
For Hollywood Studios, does this rope drop strategy and plan for the day seem logical? Is this the best use of our time walking? We have a four year old.
My wife is battling cancer and we would like to take our children to Disney World. This trip is special for our family. We will be driving over 1,000 miles and will be staying at the military resort.
We’ve never had a credit card in our 20 year marriage and were thinking this may be a good time to start.
Any recommendations for a good card?
My yard is full of stickers and needs professional attention. I don’t know if True Green is best. Would love recommendations either posted here or dm to me. I don’t need someone to cut it, I need help with stickers, fertilizer, weeds, etc.
