Closed on my first ever sale today!!! I am so excited, each no is one step closer to my YES!!!!
For context I got my very first job in sales. It’s entry level, modest, but the team I work with is super cool. Fun to get along with, and really friendly.
What I’m selling is water delivery service via 3rd party, so I’m contracted and not employed by said water delivery company.
I learned these things:
**KISS**
Keep
It
Super
Simple
And to ask these questions to get to know the customer
**FORDS**
Family
Occupation
Recreation
Dogs/dreams (any pets tbh)
Sports
And lastly:
**SEE**
Smile
Enthusiasm
Eye contact
Here’s the pitch:
\*Wave by face\* (apparently there’s psychology behind that)
“Hi how are you?” Something along those lines
*stop hands* “real quick”
“Did you know *insert company name* is helping you deliver your water now?”
Customer says “no” probably
The pitch: you can get this water dispenser for 6 ***bucks***
these jugs for 6 ***bucks*** \*(\*NOT dollars, they made it very clear to not say dollars)
Customer says “oh wow” probably
More pitch: yeah scan my QR code and see what you qualify for
I’m still practicing but wanted to share with yall what I learned.
I’m excited! Feel free to share your tips and sales secrets!
I am so ready to be released from the shackles of fast food employment. I came here from another store where I was a shift leader, I had to put in my immediate notice to leave because I was fleeing an abusive relationship. They put in a good word to be accepted at my current store. I worked here many years ago in 2019 when I was freshly 18 during what only veterans know as “the dark era.” Management was horrible, culture was down the drain, favoritism through the roof, directorship was absolutely insufferable. I came back nervous but eager to start anew. God told me to give them a chance again until I could find a better job, and it worked out for a while. Then the cracks started to show. I was under the impression that the environment had healed after flushing out all the bad apples, or chickens if you will. I was wrong. The same patterns ensued and I was looked down upon yet again. I came back with an actual backbone this time and spoke up about it. I expressed my disappointment in the leadership, they gave me some sorry excuse and told me they would work with me to get me where I wanted to be. Empty words to butter me up just to use my skills I came with only to not promote me. I saw through the lies. I saw through the unfulfilled promises. I used to be a leader, I knew how they operated because I worked with people like them. Only my other store actually removed those people immediately and did not allow that kind of behavior to fester in the workplace.
I will never work for this company again.
I did it. I put in my formal resignation of employment, my last day will be 8/7/26. I wrote this letter by hand but I also had it in my phone, and I wanted to share it with the cfa crew on Reddit. I changed my name to OP for obvious reasons, but the original one I turned in had my legal first and last name. Not really wanting opinions, just sharing because I’m proud of myself and I got my first job offer in sales. Well, here it goes.
To the Leadership Team,
After much prayer and careful consideration, I have decided to resign from my position at Chick-fil-A.
This was not a decision I made lightly. Last year, after leaving an abusive relationship, I believed God was leading me back to this store. I came with hope, grateful for the opportunity to work here again and excited to contribute in a meaningful way. Having previously served as a Shift Leader at another Chick-fil-A, I was eager to bring that experience, continue growing, and serve this team well.
Over the past several months, I have worked diligently to support the restaurant in whatever way was needed. I had the opportunity to train three team members, and while that may seem like a small responsibility, it gave me a genuine sense of hope. It made me believe that leadership saw a future for me here and that I was moving toward greater opportunities to serve.
Because of that, I was encouraged by conversations about future development and promotion. I looked forward to evaluations, coaching, and opportunities to continue growing. Sadly, those conversations never seemed to turn into action. Over time, the hope I once had slowly faded, and I found myself becoming increasingly discouraged.
I want to be clear that I do not see myself as a victim. I recognize that leadership carries difficult decisions, and I understand that not every expectation will align with reality. This letter is not written out of anger or a desire to assign blame.
Rather, I have come to realize that remaining in this environment is beginning to cultivate bitterness and resentment in my own heart. That is not who I want to become. My relationship with God and the condition of my heart matter more to me than any position or title. Because of that, I believe it is time for me to step away.
I know my value is not determined by a promotion, a position, or the recognition of others. My identity is found in Jesus Christ, and that gives me confidence to move forward in peace. I leave grateful for the lessons I have learned, the people I have worked alongside, and the opportunity to have served here once again.
It is my sincere hope that this restaurant continues to grow and thrive. I genuinely pray that God blesses the leadership, the team members, and every guest who walks through these doors.
Thank you for the opportunity to be part of the team. I wish everyone here nothing but the very best moving forward.
With gratitude,
OP
I am going to apologize in advance for my frustration in this post. There is a lot going on in my head that you are about to read.
My boy of 8 years was just put down last Saturday. My baby, my golden boy. My mud bud. When we got him from the breeder as a puppy we were under the impression he had no health issues. He was a pure bred dudley yellow lab. Before anyone starts, I don’t want to hear it. Pure breeds are more likely to have health issues, yada yada, I’ve been told this from every angle. Anyways. He turned out to have a massive liver shunt that we didn’t discover until a month or two after we got him. The symptoms were pretty quick but we didn’t know what he was doing. It started with getting very tired more often than usual. We knew puppies slept a lot, and this boy played HARD, so we thought he was just constantly tiring himself out. Then the pacing started. First he would be up for about 30mins or so just walking around the room, but tracing every wall. We got really concerned when he did this for hours and hours and cry the whole time, and nobody could get his attention. Not with treats, not with outside, not with ball, nothing. Just pacing laps around and around every room and the backyard.
After multiple vet trips and many biopsies and tons of bloodwork followed by thousands of dollars in vet bills(after insurance) we found out about a thing called “hepatic encephalopathy” which is a neurological disorder caused by toxins in the blood due to it not being filtered properly. Well, that was because he had a massive exposed blood vessel leaking toxins from all the protein he was eating and not processing at all. A dog owners worst nightmare when it comes to diets. NO protein, what-so-ever. At least nowhere near the amount required for a dog with a normal functioning liver. That was the deal. Had to be on so many medications, a home made diet consisting of yams, green beans, carrots, hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, pumpkin puree, endless supplements. The list goes on forever.
He was healthy, but his health and growth was stunted greatly due to his condition.
Well, 8 years down the line, he gets sick. Like extremely sick, coughing non-stop. It wasn’t kennel cough, it was pneumonia. A special kind of doggy fungal pneumonia that didn’t respond to antibiotics. The medicine made his lungs fill with fluid due to white blood cell overproduction to try and kill the fungus, and the more oxygen he took in the worse it got, so when he was in the ICU the vets tried lowering his oxygen which as you can imagine only made it worse because who can live without oxygen. We had no choice but to let him go.
After all those years, perfecting his diet, getting him on a functional routine that allowed him to still be a dog, it was a lung disease that took him from us.
It’s like learning to walk after getting paralyzed from being shot and dying in a house fire.
The main thing I’m mad at isn’t losing him. It’s the people. EVERY TIME someone gives their “condolences,” they’re talking about their dog that they lost. It doesn’t feel sincere. I just want to share about my dog who just died. Who was my whole world. I want to grieve Jack. I don’t want to grieve YOUR DOG. I am not trying to sound insensitive but I am not in a place where I can comfort someone. I am so angry about so many things, and people making someone else’s grief about themselves only make it worse.
And then there’s the other comments under his memorial pictures I posted. “He’s so cute!!!!!!!!!”
I KNOW. HE WAS MY DOG. IM NOT GRIEVING HOW CUTE HE WAS. IM GRIEVING THAT, AND EVERYTHING ELSE.
I know it’s coming from a place of “you’re not alone” and and trying to focus on the positives, but sometimes I just want to fucking grieve and be sad!!!!!!!! I’m angry!!!!!! I miss my dog!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭

To be completely honest bro was never on.
He just went viral for being loud and obnoxious in his music, occasionally would make a song with someone well known, starting beef just for clout and sleeping with a minor.
I’ll go first.
