I shouldn’t be able to smell you, and that includes perfume.

I think that I shouldn’t be able to smell someone unless I’m in their personal space. Whether that means B.O. or perfume, or cologne. I understand that you think your cologne smells good, but it’s a health hazard to some people. If you want to wear something, fantastic! But I should only smell it if I lean into your personal space.

My self-diagnosed autistic coworker is so disrespectful and I’m sick of it

I’m just tired of it. I was hired for a position that started recently. There’s poor communication, which is an entirely different issue. My coworker is in a manager type position. I first heard of her after some coworkers on my position were talking about how rude she is. I brushed it off since people like to gossip.

When I met her, she introduced herself as self-diagnosed autistic. That‘s not where I take issue. Healthcare system kind of sucks, and it’s very hard to get a diagnosis after a certain age. She said that because she’s autistic, she has trouble understanding tone so don’t think that she’s being rude. I get it.

My issue is that she just yells at people. I was shocked the first time it happened. She yelled at someone for not doing a task quickly enough. The next time it happened, it was to me. She yelled at me in front of the public and said that I didn’t help her with something I was supposed to. For the record, she never told me that I was supposed to. And I could have taken initiative, if someone told me the activity was taking place. I was in an entirely different task that I had been instructed to do. During that time, she told me that I shouldn’t have been hired. I’ve been yelled at three times since then. One of my coworkers was yelled at for helping an autistic and non-verbal child find his mother, and then she yelled at the child and called him stupid.

She was spreading rumours that one of our coworkers, a fifteen year old, was pregnant and the father abandoned her because she’s a sl*t. (she isn’t and is a lesbian actually). I tried telling her to be more sensitive and she blamed everything on her ’not understanding tone because she’s autistic’.

This isn’t about her not understanding tone. This is about what she’s saying and how disrespectful she’s acting. I’m just so done, but I’m in a year long contract.

AITAH for yelling at my neighbour’s kid?

My neighbour’s kid is very badly behaved and his mother refuses to do anything about it, or else I would have spoken to her already. For example, he stole from one of my other neighbours, who runs her own at-home bakery. She has a chronic illness and can’t leave the house most days, so she bakes at home and leaves her goods in a bench outside her house when someone is coming to pick up their order. This is her job to be able to provide for herself. This kid has stolen from her on several occasions. She has a Ring doorbell and knows it’s him. She brought it to the mother who denied that it was her child (his face is very clear in the footage) and said the other woman was stupid for leaving things outside for anyone to steal.

This child has a habit of running out in front of cars. He’s nine years old and is fully capable of understanding the consequences of his actions at that age. He jumps in front of cars to make them slam the breaks, or stands in the middle of the road and laughs at them.

I was driving one day when he did this to me. I rolled down my window and told him to get off the road. I had places to be and didn’t have time to gentle parent someone who isn’t my own child. He left, but stood next to my car. As I began to drive again, barely moving since I know what he’s like, he tried racing me on his motorized scooter.

I got out of the car and scolded him, saying that one day he’s going to die. I told him that a car is fully capable of killing him and he needs to stay off the road or else that’s going to happen to him.

His mom posted on Facebook calling me the b-word and a Karen for not letting kids be kids. But ever since (a week has passed) he hasn’t done anything again. Normally he’s pulling this stuff every day but he walks to the side of the road when people come if he’s playing.

AITAH for yelling at him if he’s not my kid?

Congee tips?

Hello! I’ve been trying to experiment with different foods around the world. I grew up in a household where pretty much all we ate was burgers, breakfast for dinner, and chicken wings. I’ve been trying to explore new foods. So far I‘ve loved tofu pad thai, butter chicken, souvlaki, and now I’ve set my sights on congee!

I’ve been looking at recipes and everything, and I’m a little nervous about it. I know there’s probably no reason for it, but it seems daunting. What kind of a rice should I use? I don’t have a rice cooker, so what if I mess up the rice? If I wanted to use chicken broth, can I buy some from the store or is it not good enough quality?

Any tips are welcome! I’ve also never tried congee before… I’ve just seen it online and it looks delicious so I’ve been dreaming about it.

Why don’t we tell kids where babies come from?

I understand not wanting to tell your child all the details of sex. I get that part. But why do people make up elaborate lies that mess with their child’s head? Children are often told different things from their classmates and it just confuses them more. Why don’t we just tell kids it grows in the mother’s uterus?

Is the show worth watching?

Hello! I’ve been in the fandom for around a year now and haven’t watched the show. I just got access to it but I’m hesitating on whether I even should.

I would hate for it to be bad and negatively impact the fandom for me. I know the censorship is pretty huge and that it doesn’t really have a proper ending. But should I watch it?

Sick often?

Hi! Is anyone else sick often? I feel like I’m sick every two months, and it’s always pretty bad. By the time I recover from being sick, I’m sick again.

I take my rescue inhaler, and my steroid inhaler as I should. I take all the recommended vitamins except vitamin C since I can’t find one I like and have sensory issues. Anyone else going through this?

How do I fix BO?

Hello, I’m very self-conscious about this. I shower daily (I use lots of soap), wear deodorant all the time, and yet I still have some issues. It’s only my armpits that have a smell, and I just don’t know how to fix it.

I don’t even sweat a lot. Sometimes I’ll just be out for a walk, and when I get home there’ll be a smell again. All the deodorant in the world won’t fix it. I’ve tried using less, using more, using different brands, drying before use and I just feel like there’s nothing to do.

I’ll wear a backpack for twenty minutes, and then the part of the straps that went under mu arms will smell. I’m so self-conscious about it that I keep my arms down all the time. I don’t know if anyone else has noticed it since no one has commented, but I’m so worried that they have.

I have sensitive skin too so I have to be careful what I use. Nothing heavily scented, and perfumes would trigger my asthma. Some ingredients (I don’t know which ones) gives my red bumps too.

What to do with a kilogram of ham?

Hello! I asked my parents if they could pick up 150 grams of ham for me while at the store and they got me a kilogram of ham instead. I’ve been trying to think of ways to eat it all since they have insisted they don’t want any ham, even though a kilogram that expiries in a week seems excessive to me.

I’ve made sandwiches, and nachos, and I’m looking for more inspiration! Preferably ways where I wouldn’t taste the ham at the forefront since I don’t enjoy meat. (Can’t avoid meat in diet for health reasons). Thank you so much!

Is seeing a pulmonologist worth it?

I was diagnosed with asthma when I was four and I’m nineteen now. I’ve never seen a pulmonologist or really spoken to my doctor about my asthma since I was first diagnosed. I was diagnosed with Active Asthma, but it doesn’t feel like that anymore. My asthma isn’t just triggered by exercise, but a majority of things.

Allergies, exercise, strong emotions, perfume, scents, stress, or even just random attacks. I spoke with my doctor once about it briefly three years ago, but he says I just need to get into better shape. For reference, I exercise around 3-4 times a week. Granted I’m not doing wind sprints since exercise triggers my asthma, but I do moderate exercise pretty often.

I feel like my asthma is developing, since even stairs leave me winded and I have all these new triggers. Would it be worth seeing a pulmonologist or would they tell me all the things I already know?
