New to POA want to end it.

So fairly new to dealing with a POA there are roughly 50 homes in the neighborhood each paying an annual fee of $300. There are no amenities of any kind in our neighborhood. The only thing noticeable the POA does with the money is have maybe 600 square feet of grass mowed about two times a month during the summer.

The issue that I'm having is I recently put up an election sign for our ward that would directly affect our neighborhood. It's a professionally done, standard election sign size, nothing crazy, and I was told it would need to be removed or I would be fined or potentially have a lien placed against my home.

I followed up asking what it would take to change the rule and was informed it would take 60% of the homeowners agreeing to the change and then I would be held liable for any legal fees/fines associated with the change. I found this to be unreasonable, given over half the neighborhood is owned by landlords/property management companies that I can't reach. Let alone, they won't care about changing the rules. In fact, they would likely be for the rule since it would have a nonzero chance of lowering their property value.

I then asked how we disband the POA and have since been ghosted. I would have loved to never move into an HOA/POA but when I was buying, there was nowhere anywhere near my work that wasn't in one unless I moved way out into the country.

FUCK POAS!

A necessary shift

I saw a woman on tik tok talking about how her friend dropped her for being male centered and another creator who said she received some man hating comments for talking about going on a date with her dream man. Not hating on either creators but I think it does represent a shift in the social climate regarding having a man & how it is now seen as embarrassing. I feel like the social and political climate surrounding having a man is changing & being male centered is not as normalized or socially acceptable anymore. At times it feels like we’re having two different conversations and living in two different worlds. Some of us are living in a reality where men are killing us, women’s rights are being stripped away, a family annihilation happens every 5 days, and men are in group chats teaching each other how to grape their wives, daughters, and sisters. And others of us are living in some fairy tale world where they will be the special chosen one who will be exempt from the fate that so many others have been dealt. Some women don’t want to admit that they want a hierarchy where they are placed above others for having a man because personally even if I found a man that met my criteria I would still feel the same way about men. The only reason women go out of their way to defend men or call others man hating is because they want to believe they are special. A lot of women are trying to resist what is supposed to happen, we were never supposed to be so male centered & obsessed with marriage. So many of us have died at the hands of these relationships, and for what? The illusion of love? I think a shift in how we view relationships is necessary for womankind.

I removed myself from donating organs

So I got a new ID today. I used to believe in organ donation until I read posts and stats on how men are organ recipients and most women are organ donors. I asked them to remove my organ donation slot. The man asked why I wanted to remove it, I told him I didn’t want to donate to men and men are the majority receiving of organs and tissue. Well he made a face and said ok well I removed it but you have to go on this site and remove it on there too. Turns out if I was ever in a situation where they would remove my organs, they would check to see if my id said no but would also check a database and if I didn’t remove myself, they would still take them! Like WTF!!!!!

While removing myself from the database, you have to give an explanation and I placed, “I don’t want my body to be used for male gratification or to prolong a man’s life. “ And don’t worry… it asked me 4 times if I was sure and that organ donation is a noble cause. I think they should make it so you only allow women to receive your organs or tissue. No men, no boys.

Dumbest banning

Curious about your dumbest times getting banned? Mine has to be this one. In the purple on the sign it goes on about remembering those stolen and killed by ICE and the fascist government so I called it out and got banned for it.

Who still stands for the "pledge of allegiance"?

I stopped standing for the pledge of allegiance back in high school in the 90s. I remember a few years before becoming aware of how weird and cringe it was.

One day, in 10th grade, I decided not to do it. Because I had enough of pretending like I cared and just how creepy it was to me. Of course, I was the only one to do it. My teacher took me out of the classroom to talk to me about how disrespectful it was.

T- "Why won't you stand!? I fought for this country, and you should respect it!" He said frothing at the mouth. Mind you, he was a psychology teacher too.

Me-"I think it would be even more disrespectful to PRETEND like I care." I said calmly, with zero fxcks given.

He dropped it when he couldn't intimidate me.

To this day, I still don't stand. I love what the intentions of our nation tried to be. But, simply look at our entire history, and we're a gross failure at best. And a hypocritical disgusting joke at worst.

The trail of tears, slavery, no rights for anyone not a white male, ww2 mustard gas experiments on Japanese, African and Puerto Rican soldiers, purposefully setting off nukes to study how the radiation effected the nearby civilian population, ad naseum..

The last baseball game I went to I was the only one who didn't stand, as per usual. I've always wondered how many people do it because of peer pressure or just simply can't stand by their convictions around so many people?

So why do you or don't you stand?
