Transitioning to India with a foreign degree, how valuable is CFA?

Hi everyone, I'm currently transitioning to the Indian finance market after doing my undergrad degree in Canada in accounting and finance. I returned to India due to a difficult job market in Canada, but I'm not having much success in India either, and could use some advice from anyone who went through a similar situation. I have previous experience in big 4 accounting and corporate finance internship experience in Canada, I'm trying to break into advisory, valuation, sell side roles here in India. I'm currently studying for level 2, do employers value CFA and foreign work experience or is there something else I need to do that carries weight in India? What are the best channels for networking and finding jobs apart from LinkedIn? I appreciate any advice, thanks!

Return to India from Canada, need job search advice

I graduated with an undergrad degree in accounting and finance in Canada and unfortunately couldn't find a job after graduation. After trying for about a year I made the decision to return to India, but the job market is equally tough. I reached out to many connections and no one is able to help. I have a lot of internship experience + CFA Level 1, I'm not sure where I am going wrong and how to navigate the Indian job market, does anyone who has returned from Canada have any advice on searching for jobs here?

Back in India after doing undergrad in Canada, no work experience

I graduated with a degree in accounting and finance in Canada (Ontario province), I couldn't find a job in Canada for a year with my PGWP despite having 1.5 years of co-op and internship work experience, so I decided to move back to India. I live in Chennai at the moment and can't find a job here either, applying all over the place in Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai. Even my contacts are no use, nobody seems to be able to help. I have my CFA level 1 and I'm doing Level 2, does anyone have any advice on how to get a foothold in this job market?

How useful is the Python PSM?

I've already completed the Financial Modeling PSM already ahead of Level 1 May results, but it wasn't that useful as I already knew modeling pretty well. But I don't know much about Python and I wanted to learn, is the PSM useful or are there other resources that are better?

Graduated uni and haven’t found a job in over a year

I graduated about a year and a half ago with a business undergrad and as the title said have had no luck finding a job. I have over a year in internship experience, even tried asking those companies i worked at if I could come back and had no luck. I’ve tried networking and reaching out to friends and various connects and everyone sympathizes but no one can offer anything except a ‘send me your resume and I’ll do my best’.

I’ve had 4-5 interviews over these 18 months but I never progressed too far, they were always multiple rounds and they never gave feedback, but they always looked disappointed when they found out my experience on my resume is not ‘full time’ but intern experience. I’m so confused, since I’m applying for entry level positions, why am I expected to have full time experience?

Any advice appreciated, Im continuing to upskill and network but I’m slowly losing my mind.

Mitchell Marsh or Aiden Markram would be a nice addition to CSK for leadership

LSG have one of the worst squads in IPL so if they choose to reshuffle their team I think one of those 2 guys would be an ideal addition cause they are both experienced international captains.

Obviously Mitchell Marsh can also solve our batting problems but I was looking at it from a leadership aspect, we can do with one of them 2 very badly.

Although they will be expensive no doubt.

Urvil Patel is the ace up our sleeve

I think Urvil will be very key in our final push for a playoff spot, he's showing glimpses of what he can do and when he gets going he will be destructive, he just falling short right now. I hope we show some faith in him and back him to keep playing aggressive cricket. He has a lot of help down the order so he should just go for it and play his shots without fear.
