I’m in California Bay Area, and have a card that I sent a while back that I think will 9 but it has a think that to my knowledge someone could clean and get rid of and the difference between a 9 and 10 is significant, anyone have any suggestions or help ?
So far it is just ok, it cost around 42$ in the USA for a spool but if ordered from Japan it’s like 10-15$. The abrasion resistance is minimal so I would recommend running at least a 4 ft leader if not more. Casting distance has been amazing, although it doesn’t cast great in wind. It’s hard to say but on average it seems be casting around 30 % further than my Seaguar Smackdown at similar line weights but higher Diameter. One thing to note is wind knots a pain to get out and happen often , I hope this goes away but the fist 3 times I have used it I have gotten at least one wind knot with the first time getting 3. I think as the line works it way into the spool and I throw more heavier lures not in the wind it will work itself out. This stuff in a little heavier like a 30Lb would cast amazing in a baitcaster and I plan on ordering a spool in the summer for my chronarch ci4 in prob 30-40lb ish. If the wind knots go away which I am hopefully this line will be a dream and for trout and smaller largemouth I would highly recommend especially at the jdm price. I would say a 8/10 at the jdm price and if wind knots go away but if you have to pay the us price I would pass entirely and get suffix or smackdown.
Just bought some on Digitaka in 0.6 which is 12 Lb for a Shimano stradic 2k and want to heard what people say about it. Most of the reviews I have found of said pretty positive things about it. The only negative thing I found is the abrasion resistance is lacking. But apparently it’s pretty sweet to cast and should work great on my stradic 2000 from Digitaka as well.
Mcq was hard
Saq was hard
DBQ was ight
Leq was light
Deps Bull Shooter 160 (3.7 oz) on the way from Japan still
2x Bass Pro Shops XPS Glide (2.1 oz)
River2Sea S-Waver 168 (1.6 oz)
Fishlab Bio Gill Pro Glide (1.8 oz)
3 x Berkley CullShad 8" (3.5 oz)
Megabass Magdraft 6" (1.25 oz)
If I were to get them I would get the 7 inch spro Chad shad or the Bucca trick shad 6 inch next but not sure
They are around 110 for the 6 inch 3.7 oz version if I order it from Japan it is about 45+ 10% tariffs and 5$ shipping so around 50 ish total do y’all think it is worth buying as my next glide ?
Some context on me :
My main thing is mountain biking where I am familiar with that 56 mile distant as I have done it half a dozen times with elevation on a mountain bike. My longest ride on a mtb was 101 miles with around 8500 feet of climbing. I still consistently mountain bike at the high school level and race . On the running part I used to run a ton and was running 5 k where I was running in the 18 area and I stopped for around 6 months, but yesterday I ran at zone 3 for a 5 k just to see in a neighborhood and ran like 21 . On the distance side I have ran distant before but it had been about a year since I ran over 10 miles and about 2 since I did a Marathon. So for the Biking and Running with a few week of prep for running I think I’ll ok. The swimming is the part that I am worried about, I am not a big swimmer, ok but not good , I swim occasionally but not often and I know if I am serious about this I would need to start swimming . The longest I ever have swam was 1 mile at 6 k feet of elevation for fun , unsure my time but it wasn’t easy as the breathing was hard. What do y’all think, I was thinking about doing one in Late to mid June . It isn’t a offical 70.3 as u 18 is not permitted at those , but it is similar distances I believe, I have till early June to sign up I think and the swim is on a lake I believe. What do y’all think ?
digitaka, seems to be pretty good for what I have read but also Tokyo bass and jdm tackle heaven ,discount tackle and a few other , what do you guys recommend
Was really leaning towards the new Nasci but wanna here some other idea and maybe a jdm option as the saving are pretty good. I was also looking toward the Okuma itx cb and itx as well a ultegra and mirival and a few other but wasn’t sure lmk
Rod: Powell Endurance Medium 7'6 Fast
Reel:Shimano Chronarch 150 hg
Line:Seaguar Smackdown 30 lb high vis
I have Nasci 1 k and it has 6 lb braid and 4 lb leader
Might swap it to 8lb braid and 6 lb leader but looking to spend under 100$ on a nice ul rod
I Am a long time fisherman who is just getting into the world of glide baits, I am fishing a 7’9 Powell endurance MH rated for 2-5 oz glide baits . I have purchased 2 bass pro shop xps glides 2.1 oz 6 inches , but I am looking at getting a few more . I am using 20 lb fluorocarbon. The glide baits I have been looking at are River 2 Sea s wavers , Spro Chad shad 6th sense Flow glide or Draw , Berkeley chop block and a few others . I am honestly not really sure what to get I already have 2 slow sink glides and I was maybe thinking about getting a surface glide but wasn’t sure or just get 2 more slow sink glides and maybe a fast sink too but I am not sure any advice or help would be appreciated greatly as I am pretty new to this
