How do movies like Karakkam get green lit in the Malayalam industry?

Can someone explain how movies like Karakkam get green lit in the Malayalam industry?

I can understand how a script can look promising on paper but end up failing because of poor execution. That happens.

But for this movie, the writing itself was extremely atrocious and honestly brain rotting. And for a movie with such a big focus on music, it was extremely bad. There wasn't a single moment where you felt like bopping along. The comedy was so cringe too. It's supposed to be a musical horror comedy, but it somehow failed at all three. The horror didn't work, the comedy didn't land, and the music was a huge letdown.

I don't really blame the lead actors. At the end of the day, it's a paycheck, and they probably signed up based on what they were told.

But the people who brought this project to life... how did this even happen? More than being a waste of time and ticket money, it's just such a shame and feels like a stain on an industry like Malayalam cinema, which is known for making some amazing films.

What am I missing here? Does anyone actually know how projects like this make it all the way to release?

Is LSQ Superscreen scope or flat screen? What are the best seats for sound?

Planning to watch Spiderman at LSQ superscreen but not sure if will get a cropped scope screening or full flat IMAX version.

Anyone got any insights?

Screen X have been horrible every single viewing for whichever movie ive been to, regarding projection quality and sound.. so only planning on checking out screen x as a 2nd watch if the reviews says its worth going.

What's your opinion on the 2026 1oz Britannia from Costco? Best to buy in store or home delivery? Worried about getting followed.

Thinking of picking up a 1oz gold Britannia from Costco and was wondering what people think of them in general.

How do people rate the 2026 1oz Britannia in terms of premiums, liquidity and long term holding compared to other options like Maples, Eagles, or Krugerrands? Is it still the best all round choice for UK buyers, or are there desirable alternatives?

Also curious how people typically handle buying and storage. Do you usually order for home delivery, or prefer collection/safer pickup options? I’ve seen mixed opinions on delivery vs in person, especially around security.

Bit of a paranoid question maybe, but does anyone worry about being “noticed” after buying bullion (e.g. followed home or targeted afterwards), or is that just overthinking it in practice?

Would appreciate any real-world experiences or advice.

Upper Second Molar - Save or Extract?

Hi all, looking for some second opinions on this upper back molar (photos + X-ray attached).

The tooth was originally going to have a root canal, but the dentist is now recommending extraction because the decay may go too far below the gum line and there may not be enough tooth left to support a crown.

Do you think this tooth can still realistically be saved with a root canal and crown?

Just trying to understand if saving the tooth is still a reasonable option or if extraction is the more predictable choice. Thanks in advance.

Upper second molar restorable?

Hi all,

Looking for some professional second opinions on an upper second molar case. I’ve included both clinical photos and a bitewing X-ray (circled).

Questions:

  1. Would you consider this restorable with RCT + crown in an upper second molar like this?
  2. Given the apparent subgingival extent, is crown lengthening even predictable in this region?
  3. Does this fall into a “hopeless” category primarily due to lack of ferrule?
  4. Would orthodontic extrusion be considered here, or not worth it for a second molar?
  5. If extracting, would you recommend socket preservation for future implant placement in this area?

Background:

- Tooth was initially planned for root canal

- Dentist has since advised extraction, stating the tooth may be “too far gone,” possibly due to decay extending below the gum line

Clinical observations (from what I understand):

- Significant loss of tooth structure on one side

- Deep caries with what appears to be subgingival extension

- Very limited remaining supragingival tooth structure (questionable ferrule)

Radiographic observations:

- Large radiolucency in the crown approaching/likely involving the pulp

- Interproximal decay extending apically

- Bone levels appear relatively intact

- No clear periapical pathology on this bitewing (understanding limitations)

Current recommendation given: Extraction followed by implant.

Trying to understand if there’s any predictable way to save this tooth vs. accepting extraction as the most appropriate route.

Appreciate any input

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I have around £60k remaining on my mortgage, which is due for renewal in July, and I’m trying to decide on the best option in the current market. I also have approximately £40k in savings.

Given that the remaining mortgage balance is relatively low, would it make more sense to:

  • take out a 2-year fixed rate,
  • go for a 5-year fixed rate, or
  • use a lump sum from my savings to reduce the mortgage balance significantly?

I’m also considering the possibility of moving to a slightly larger property, as our family is starting to outgrow our current home.

(Hopefully will be able to take the hit on extra stamp duty from the savings)

I’d really appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.
