Experimental Art Trades
Looking to do trades with people who don't mind me trying new things. I need to get out of my comfort zone, and this was an idea I had.
I'll DM you if I want to trade :3

Dates in order: Aug 3, Jul 23, Jul 5, Jun 12, Jun 11, Jun 6, Jun 5, May 23. These are based on the date in the photos app, so some are probably off. These are my best in this timeframe imo (this is the time where I started realizing a pause in progress)
Are my skills getting better or is it actually coming to a halt? Idk where to go next in learning. I have been working on anatomy, but I need a break from it. YouTube videos feel like they aren’t helping (rendering wise) and when I try something new, it feels/looks wrong. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
Devsis "Congratulations, you got the new costumes!"
Players "Nice! What buffs do I get from them?"
Devsis: "What buffs?"
The only thing we get for these new costumes is 50 diamonds, a title, and a new design. This would be totally fine if 1) it was easier to get, 2) more diamonds, and 3) they didn't do buffs before. However, they have been giving us buffs for ever costume sets ever since they started, why stop now?
Don't get me wrong, I love the new designs, it's just frustrating. Especially if it's a character I'm not going to use as much. I'd rather save up for a character I use or if there is a buff. Which is frustrating bc I want these new costumes, they are just too much work for the rewards we get.
Am I the only one who thinks this?
I've seen really cool bases and I watch a lot of hermitcraft (a crap ton of episodes, multiple days worth) and there are so many cool designs/ideas.
So how do you guys do it? I'm mostly a character artist. Backgrounds/buildings don't come naturally to me, but I really want to create something big. It would be such a nice feeling to complete a mega base for the first time, and it would give me something to work on for a long while.
I haven’t posted the full render on my instagram yet (link on my Reddit page), but getting traction is very difficult. My last post only made it to one view. It was just 4 hours ago, but I would think it would have more than 1. The account is fairly new (started around early May). Do I just have to keep posting and hope for the best? The odd thing about this is I was getting followers very often for a decent amount of days and then it dropped off.
The reason I bring up my rendering is because I’m quite new to doing it. I want to say I started rendering fully this year. There was a long pause in my digital art because I needed a new computer and the other one didn’t work properly. This makes me think I’m behind.
Any tips on how to render better or how to grow online would be great. If there are any other glaring issues, please mention, it would help a lot 🙏
This was my most recent art with a full detailed background, and it took me a very long time to finish (~18.5 hours). I want to make a comic, but backgrounds take a long time and keeping it consistent is a nightmare.
I found a website called 5D planning, which is for house planning. However, it doesn't move as freely as I need it to. Which Is such a bummer because the rest of it is exactly what I want in a 3D house making.
So are there any tips on how to draw faster, and are there any websites that could help with 3D?
Any advice on how to place characters in a 3D space with proper sizing would also be great. Props oftentimes look very small with the characters I draw them with
This is mainly about who I want to pull (based on my account), but feel free to use this as a reference
I'm least likely to pull for Changli and Zhezhi because I don't see myself using them. Changli could be helpful with my mono fusion team (Brant and Lupa), but she is complicated + confusing to play. With Zhezhi, I could use her with Carlotta and Shorekeeper, but I'm assuming Suisui will be a better fit.
Yinlin is a cool character, love her animations and design. I just don't know what to do with her and I heard she isn't great. Her weapon on the other hand seems to be a must pull (based on what I've heard). Other than that, I am not pulling for Yinlin.
I've watched videos on Jinhsi and she seems to still be good to pull. However, I have also heard not to pull for her because she is "too easy". There's not much I know about Jinhsi, and from what I see, the teams she works with isn't what I want. I would need Zhezhi and Jinhsi to make it worth it and I already don't want Zhezhi.
Jiyan was fun to play when I tried him out during the main story, he is also a male character, and those are a rare treat. Cool design and animations, feels smooth to play him and he is one I've been thinking about getting. On the other hand, Xiangli Yao is a male character that doesn't get many banners (barely any :') ). So idk if I should pull for him because of that or not.
Over all, Im thinking of getting Jiyan and Yinlin's signature weapon (string master). If I had to choose which to prioritize, I would say string master.
I would love to hear which character/weapon you guys are planning <3
In Crispia, you can get soul stones from dark and master mode. Beast-Yeast give chests with a verity of different items. What does Timeline of Fate give?

I haven't made it to this section yet so I don't know the rewards and Googling it didn't give a clear answer.

I'm hoping it's more soul stones (to bring back bonds), but I doubt it
I want to start doing commissions in roughly a year and I want to know my weak points so I can work on them.

I already know I need to get better at drawings hands and feet :3
I would've wanted it to be on a deceitful chocolate, but oh well
I had to crop the first one because Reddit didn't like the full image lol
First is for u/Aikimoto
Second is for u/Clear_Department842

Eta: the last two images need to be clicked on, it look so crusty lol 😭
I like this kind of rendering and want to learn how to do it. To start simple, I'm just wondering how they rendered the skin. Visual tutorials would be really helpful, but it's not necessary!

I work with Clip Studio Paint and would like to find an easier way to draw freckles. I've looked through assets and I've tried drawing them by hand, but it is never right. I was thinking of making my own brush. However, how should I make it look more real when the normal brush I use doesn't get it right?
I'm looking for either brushs from assets or tips on how to draw them by hand to make a natural looking brush
Thanks!
Best with humans and humanoid characters <3
This question is probably asked a lot, but I want to know different practices to get better at it. "Just draw boxes" doesn't give me much of an idea of what to do.
(I'm not sure how to tag this properly, sorry if I did it wrong)
ToS:
- Needs to be okay with me putting the art on my toyhouse (I will give credit)
- Should be okay with me posting the trade after
- No contact for a week after accepting trade will cancel it (unless reason is given BEFORE the silence)
- No progress photos, but messages on progress instead
If you have any questions, feel free to ask :D
