My Dad and I (22f) moved onto this property for the fact that the house is set back far away from the street on a good 3 acre lot. I prefer privacy as I have a stupid fear of people looking into my windows because of a couple instances when I was young living on a culdesac. Our property was once 2 homes, but the 2nd home burnt down 4 years ago prior to us purchasing the land/home and burnt the shed directly adjoining our property.

About a week after we arrived my neighbor (we can call him Ned, M50-60yo) tore down the shed that was alongside our property and provides a direct view to my bedroom window. Ned then parked his camper to aline directly with the double doors to the shed & the wall he took down meaning he can sit in the camper and watch me whether im in the yard directly infront of my home or in my bedroom. Only my room can be seen from there.

My other neighbor (We can call him Craig) previously owned my property & currently Craig’s brother owns the home Ned lives in & the property behind us. Craig warned me about him as soon as we moved in saying that Ned was “overly friendly” to my now close friend and neighbor “daisy” who complained to me about the same weird conversations that mirrored the ones I had with him. Early on he began befriending my dogs which really frustrated me at first but I figured he must be lonely and finds some solace in petting them. Well then he cut down OUR privacy trees and removed the wood board we used to cover up the shed to keep the dogs from escaping considering we live on a 35mph straight country road that is used like a highway now with people going 60+.

I obsessively make sure the entire house is locked prior to leaving BUT I keep my windows open (they have screens, none have been damaged). My dogs would defend our home if anyone ever broke in UNLESS they know the person. yet theres been 2 times where ive came home and my back door is WIDE open and my dogs out in the yard. We dont keep them out in the yard because of the fact that 2 of my dogs have scaled the fence to get to Ned prior. His car was there prior to us leaving both times the door was opened and not there when we got home. Nothing was missing but some items in my room were moved around and our fire alarms started randomly going off CONSTANTLY. We replaced them and now theres no issue so maybe unrelated.

He takes down the wood panel between the shed and our yard a lot & when we drilled it in he took the screws out. My Dad had left one morning and Ned showed up to my FRONT DOOR (I have a 1/2 mile long driveway with posted sinage that warns for my dogs, FAFO sign, no trespassing & a door bell on the gate so they can reach us) to give me an egg carton (I have chickens) and then proceeded to ask me about my day and what I was getting all dressed up for.

Last thing, I have a stuffed beaver infront of my house that says “SLOW DOWN EAGER BEAVERS, KIDS PLAYING”. I was closing the gate up front recently & he yelled to me “I LIKE YOUR BEAVER” and I pointed at the stuffed beaver and yelled back “OMG YEA ITS FUNNY HUH?!” and he said “NO NOT THAT ONE, YOUR OTHER ONE!”. Am I overreacting about this???? Nothing he has done besides cutting the trees down is illegal from my knowledge.. idk how to feel about this.
