Do I need NC Lyra or would a rerun of Gloria be serviceable?
I'm not a huge Lyra fan, but afaik there isn't another hyper strong physical DPS like her (Maybe Gloria with Cinderace).
I know my fire types are lacking and she'd be a big help, but I'm just wondering if I could skip her in place of getting Gloria.
Games I've finished this year ranked!
https://backloggd.com/u/Blitzkava/list/2026-games-ive-beaten-order-beaten/
Here's all the games I've beaten by the halfway point.
These are ranked based on how enjoyable they are.
I haven't included any replays, only brand new experiences. It's been a lot of fun to get to play so many cool things!
Do you think these stats are good?
Won a game and got into Diamond 3. However I was looking at my stats as White Fox. While I feel very good about them, I'm wondering if I was heavily slacking on the healing side.
I feel like I played too aggressively, but for the most part, it was to push or hold the point for overtime.
Do you think this is effective or was I more of a hindrance to the team by not outputting as much healing? Genuinely looking for advice.
50490230451 is the replay for anyone interested.
I was so happy with this performance!
I play hyper aggressive with White Fox. While sometimes it can lead to my demise, other times I can just pop off so well.
I'm really proud of this particular section where I was able to single out the Invis and hold the point long enough with Venom.
Let me know of any other tips I should know, I just know I love playing this character!
How many heroes should I learn to be flexible in competitive?
I'm getting more comfortable playing competitive and just hit Gold 2. Not a huge accomplishment but its definitely been a lot of fun!
What I'm wondering is if I want to keep going, how many heroes should I be flexible with for each role? I don't play a designated role and usually just fill what the team needs. I wanted to see in that case, how many I should try to learn for each role based on variety.
So far, the heroes I mainly play are:
- Vanguard - Emma Frost, Venom, Angela (Although latest patch has Angela really hard to use)
- Duelist - Phoenix, Blade, Squirrel Girl
- Strategist - White Fox, Luna Snow, Jeff
Is this a good variety for each role? Are there some characters I should drop in favor for another playstyle?
Thanks for the help!
I finished the game. What a beautiful time I had.
This is kinda a follow up post to the previous ones I made ("I'm only 6 hours in and this game is incredible at getting me into it. How?" and "Loving the game but a bit stuck on one boss.".
So yes, this game is incredible. How they manage to keep a consistently well written story with time being a focus and characters of multiple eras interacting with each other being so enjoyable, I have no idea. Let me go over what I loved:
- As mentioned, story was great. Time travel can be a tricky thing to write about but this was flowing so well from each narrative plot point. Individual world storylines and overarching story was all so enjoyable to jump around in.
- Characters are some of the best around. Specifically the main party. Each one of them is as great as the next. There were moments that made me laugh and moments that made me feel sad. But I loved them all. For those wondering: Robo is my absolute golden child and will praise him forever.
- The music. OH MY LORD THE MUSIC. Chrono Trigger theme, Memories of Green, Secret of the Forest, Manoria Cathedral, Boss Battle 1, Frog's theme, Ayla's theme, Lab 16's Ruin, Robo's Theme, Brink of Time, Corridors of Time, Wings That Cross Time, Last Battle. All of those were some of the absolute greatest. But the two outstanding: Battle with Magus and Wind Scene. Oh my god how these perfectly captured their moods and I will never be able to get them out of my head. Incredible tracks.
- Gameplay wise this is a really fun way of handing the real-time battle. It has the same components as FF real time battles but has its own flavor and twist with combo attacks and how encounters work with positioning too. Definitely a lot of fun.
So, in terms of what people could be wondering (And I don't know what bearing it has overall):
- Trial I was found not guilty but still detained. Also picked up the locket before helping Marle.
- Party wise, loved them all but my favorites to least were: Robo, Ayla, Magus, Marle, Frog, Chrono, Lucca. Again, loved them all though!
- I got Ending 2: Reunion. I haven't looked into any of the endings yet in general, but I guess I must have missed something with Chrono coming back or not. The credits seemed to tease that Chrono was back so I guess I'll need to investigate that more.
- Hardest bosses for me were: Black Tyranno, Giga Gaia, Golem Sisters and Ozzie Trio. Lavos was tough and did take me a couple of attempts but I think I was just extremely strong for that point of the game.
But yes, overall: This game is incredible. For anyone who wants to play old school JRPGs, I would definitely put this up forward!
Thanks to everyone in this community being so kind and welcoming with the previous posts. I had a delightful time! I'm happy to talk more about my experience with anyone who wants to 😄
I've started streaming and love it. But how do I get over listening to my own voice?
As said, I've just gotten into a week of streaming. It's been great, I've really enjoyed it. Even with no viewers or a friend or two watching, I am really having fun just talking aloud about the game and laughing at myself when things go badly for me.
However, I am just unable to go back and watch my VODs. I never liked my voice and struggle to hear it played back to me. This is a real challenge for me and I know as a streamer, its totally stupid to have this issue. I want to do what I can to try get over it and be able to watch my own VODs or do edits for YouTube/Tiktok uploads.
Is there any advice people can offer me to cope/deal with this? I know people can just say just rip off the band-aid but I almost get this paralysis in going to listen to it. But any advice at all is really appreciated. As soon as I get over this hurdle, I will feel 100% about streaming and be able to give it my all!
Me waiting for the banner priority and tier list so I can waste all my gems:
Take your time with them genuinely!
Loving the game but a bit stuck on one boss.
Edit: Literally did one more attempt after this post and got it hahaha. Used Crono, Marle and Robo. Marle setup Haste on everyone. Chrono then spammed Frenzy on one, while Marle did support and Robo did Hybrid. Definitely the toughest fight in the game so far!
Spoiler free answers please!
Hey, made a post a week ago or so talking about how much I'm loving this game!
Nothing has changed, still loving it. But there's a boss fight I am having trouble with: The Golem Sisters.
It seems like their fireball attack is a guaranteed kill after the steel ball reduces my HP to half.
I have tried different teammates but none have really succeeded. I have a few questions:
- Is there something I've missed in the battle itself (IE - Previous bosses had a gimmick where you take down a specific enemy first or target something else entirely)?
- Are my levels too low for right now?
Game is great but this is definitely the first wall I've hit.
Okami Vinyl arrived!
You didn't see the last post.
Each of the inner sleeves are absolutely exquisite in their designs of each of the celestial brush gods. It makes each individual sleeve feel even more special.
The bonus goods in the pack are also incredible. The art booklet is so nice (Definitely worth the wait to get this), and the additional art cards for the 20th anniversary round it out nicely.
The exterior box is sturdy, and features a beautiful design on both sides, one of Amaterasu and the other of the region in game.
The soundtrack itself: Why else would you be getting a vinyl? Its perfect. Sound quality is exceptional, and no issues noticed with it. Amazing repress. The vinyl itself has a really nice and clear design.
While I think the markings on the cover are still a really weird choice and not my absolute cup of tea, this vinyl box set is absolutely worth it.
What's track are you going to have on repeat? And what is your zodiac animal? For me, I'll be listening to Shinshu Plains and I was born in the year of the rat ^^
I want to try get back into the game. Who would be the best to start learning?
Hey! I got Tekken 8 back at launch. I really enjoyed it for the story mode and also just messing around with characters online. However I never properly got into learning characters fully, just mostly playing it for fun.
With all the characters in it now, I was really interested in getting back into it. The problem is, there's so many characters I am interested in playing. I figured I just wanted to stick with learning one at first before trying to commit to several.
I was hoping could I get some advice on which character should I learn from the ones I'm interested in? It would be a huge help. The game looks so fun and I really want to try break back into it without hitting too many struggles.
The characters I'm interested in are:
- King
- Leroy
- Azucena
- Lee
- Victor
- Reina
- Lidia
- Armor King
- Miary Zo
- Kunimitsu
Thanks, hope I get really get into the game!
I'm only 6 hours in and this game is incredible at getting me into it. How?
Edit: EVERYONE IN THIS COMMUNITY IS SO NICE! Thank you for making me feel so welcome with my post just gushing about the game!
I've just did the first story section in 12,000 BC and I gotta say, this game is so awesome. I have no idea how or why but I'm very hooked on this game already. I don't know if that's natural, but from playing various JRPGs, some of them can take some time before it properly sinks in.
My 2nd, 6th and 7th favorite games of all time are Octopath Traveler 2, Pokémon Emerald and Metaphor Refantazio. Other franchises I've played are Persona, Final Fantasy (6, 7, 9, 10, 16) and Kingdom Hearts. I know some of these can have a slow start but I stuck with them and loved them a bunch.
But Chrono Trigger? I don't know how it does it, but I'm fully on board this early. I don't want to make it sound like I am dismissing it as if I should have been on board earlier, but I'm basically emphasizing how much this game has engaged with me already.
- The story is so interesting, I really want to know where it goes even if I already know some plot elements from online word of mouth.
- The characters are all so charming, not a single one of the party members I've met are bad. All of them are extraordinarily likeable.
- The combat system is really fun and not overly complex like some games are, but there's still room for some fun ideas with combo attacks.
- The music. OH MY LORD, THE MUSIC. I don't know any track names yet but standouts for me are when you're in 600AD overworld map, the opening theme and the boss battle theme. That's just to a name a few of the stellar tracks.
Honestly this game is great. I just wanted to gush about it because it is fantastic!
Could gems have been spent better elsewhere: No way. Always pull for your favourites!
