I have easy access to horse manure through a friend. But I’ve heard it can be weedy. I can get cow manure, but I have to ask and idk how friendly he is about it, being a large dairy. I hunt the dairy in the Fall.
My compost needs a ton of green and nitrogen and on top of that, organic fertilizer prices have doubled, so I’d like to live off compost as much as possible.
I personally would've gone with "Don't pee in the fancy potty"

About a month ago I posed a question on a “weed” that sprouted in a container. Didn’t look like a weed like normal around here, so I let them grow.
About thirty apples. I thinned out the small ones and clusters down to two apples.
Tree is still young but about the size id like to keep it. Need to learn how to support these branches and espalier eventually.

Found this barrel dolly at in-laws house when selling it last year. Probably not an heirloom. They liked buying antiques and guessing that’s where this came from. Anyway, used the existing wood as patterns. Planed the wood to size. Shaped the handles with bandsaw, draw knives. Not too much sanding, 40-60 grit orbital. It’s going outside again. Wood is…. #2 Doug Fir lumber. Picked out the best at a local millwork supply from their lumber once I learned what vertical grain cost. Lol. Linseed oil finish.
Metal: The cart seemed to have been crushed at one time (plywood sisters on the handles for one). One rest was bent out of shape, the flats were a little tweaked and the scoop thing (idk whet it’s called) was also out of shape. They all needed some bending back. Then just wire brushed to get rid of the crust and rubbed with linseed oil. Hardware is all new since I had to cut it off. Stuck with new square nuts. Everything exposed, polished off the zinc so that it would rust eventually. I have to go back and touch up black on the heads, but couldn’t wait to show the world.
Do you keep belly meat? Worth the trouble?

My little bit of research says to fish during the spawn. But they could still be around, no?
