Self inflicted achromatic is still interesting to me.

Self inflicted achromatic, an English cover wich I believe is originally by jubyphanic, and which seems to be widely accepted as the most common English translation of the Japanese song. Is interesting to me, as unlike most other songs about suicide, it doesn't have a particularly positive or hopeful ending. Most of the song is the singer expressing a firm, deep rooted belief that if they were to simply disappear, the people around and the world at large would only ever be helped. Along with being convinced that if they were to, no one would mourn their passing.

This is then contrasted by the ending, where the singer seems to have met someone who would sincerely mourn their passing, but instead of being reassured they're distraught by this fact. As they no longer have the freedom to simply die, and being unable to laugh that fact off, or potentially being unable to ignore the fact that now someone would cry for them.

It paints an interesting picture of existential despair to me, especially because one of the reasons why I don't just skip to the good part is because I do have people that would be worse off one way or another if I did.

So to convey that feeling as a seeming burden at the end is almost relatable I guess.

It's a good song, both the English cover and the og jp. Recommend.

Thoughts on kick-ass 2

I think I'd say Its mixed for me. There were some parts I liked, and parts I didn't, mostly it was anything to do with "the mother fucker" because anytime he was on screen there'd be the most brutal, tasteless use violence. Which says something because this is fucking kick ass. If the idea was to give one physical form to all the evilness online, the tasteless jokes and bigotry, and the over abundance of hurt. Then I'd say they did a bang up job with condensing all that into one person. The problem is, they don't commit to him being an online troll or an actual villain. If everything he did was related to Dave, doxing him, his family, his friends and address. And left actually harming him in whatever way to his goons, then he would've been (I think) a really good antigonistic force, and that would've been in line whith how he was written before as a snot-nosed kid that can't do much on his own, which I think is what they were going for considering how he went out. Or, if they did want to use him as an outright villain, maybe showing some restraint would've been a better choice. As it is written, he's tastlessly evil for the fun of it and that could've been something if they dialed back on what he does. Or if he had to shoot some kids in the face to get to Dave because he hates him so much (that's another thing they don't do enough with) maybe have him shoot up his school. It's not like he can't find out where it is. And doing that would've been a much more concentrated and effective way of either killing him, or trying to screw with him, (it's never made clear what he's actually trying to accomplish) and it would've made for a great opportunity for interaction between the two, which is sorely missing from the book imo.

The last book's theme was following one's dream framed through loneliness' obsession. This time around it's kinda muddled. I think it's "be proud of your dream, no matter what." because it feels like that's what they were leaning to with entire premise of the book, with people following along Dave's footsteps after seeing it's possible. And I think it's explicitly told with the conversation between Dave and his dad, (a scene that's criminally short) where he states he's proud of what he's doing, and people around just as. But it doesn't lean into that idea far enough. Mf could've been an example of following you're dreams in the wrong way, or his doxing could've been framed not only as terrifying breach of privacy, but also as a way of stripping Dave of his dream. And the police could've been this too. But as it is the idea is underbaked.

The idea of kick-ass as a whole is bring superheroes into our world, and how scarey and messy that would actually be. And the fist book I feel like does this well, because it uses Dave's thoughts to relate this to a realistic perspective. The magic and horror and pain associated. But I feel like we don't get enough of that. There's the funeral and when he thought he actually killed, and those were honestly great. Along with the first introduction to jf, even though I feel that's weaker than the others, was also good. But I simply wish we could've gotten more.

I feel like my knee-jerk reaction to a lot of these is "oh it's a pacing problem" but i don't think so, because they did it well enough in the first book, so they clearly know how to work with less. Maybe it could be they're trying to jam too much, but realistically it's the same number of perspectives as the first, Dave, Mf, and Mindy. So I'm lead to think that it's a problem with how the story is fundementally told, what scenes they decided to write and not. Which I went into before.

Overall kinda weaker than the last one, with some of the problems carrying over. But with some of its strengths too, like the art, and some pieces of writing.

Hi, I'm thinking of starting, but I have a few questions.

So zzz is the only hacha I play, and generally it swings between a money hungry key jingle trying to get me to pull for the newest thing, to pretty fun. But I'm also thinking of either quitting or throwing it to the back burner for a bit to focus on other things, but I'm curious about this game, and generally vibe with its aesthetic, to that end, I've a couple general questions about the game as a whole. Note that these questions are directed more towards players who've been at this for a while, finished the story, and are just loitering around without too much to do.

•how:s the in game economy? Zzz (so far) is actually pretty okay with giving out currency for pulls on the free. And the things you can do to get more (story, events, side-quests, dailies) while not a lot on their own, stack over time, and that time is relatively short. So would I be scraping for any currency I can?

•what do the events look like? Zzz (so far) has actually had some pretty fun and carried events that actually give out a decent amount of currency and upgrade materials, so events are actually really important to me.

•is there a skip button?

Very important, especially for events.

•how viable is the express for anything outside the story?

So, in zzz. The starting party is "viable" to get through other content besides the story if one builds them hyper min-maxed.

I'm asking because, if a state of play like that exists in this game too, then I can simply pull for the 2-3 characters that I actually acre about without needing to chase the newest thing to be able to do things with my faves besides story.

This question can also be rephrased as: could I technically get all the endgame rewards by using standard banner characters?

There might be more I'm not thinking of, if there are I may edit them in. But for now these are the most important questions that I'd like answers to.

Thank you

My thoughts on Scott Pilgrim (spoilerish)

Scott pilgrim

Was something I enjoyed, but felt it was over-hyped just a bit.

I read it after I watched the anime some time back, because I heard the anime was separate from the comics, which I have only heard pretty good things about, so picked up the color versions of each volume.

And what I got was a prettyi entertaining ride.

The highlight for me being the characters, which seem to be the author's too. Each one of them fun on their own with their own flaws that make them unique, but their dynamics with one another is where the story shines. They bounce off one another really well, their banter is well written, and they don't do that thing in stories where "friends" are overly rude to each other for the sake of banter. I get the sense they genuinely like one another, and when they do rag it's either off handed or to point out a flaw or something in service to the story.

Exposition is also worked into dialogue well, it either flows naturally enough, or when the characters do say something like "Scott Pilgrim is dating a high schooler which is bad because he's 23, what a loser." I think the writing is presented as being self-aware enough to at least lampshade that issue.

Speaking of, something I liked is that the narrative just let the characters be losers, or just flawed. Scott is dating a high schooler at the start, Ramona is self isolating to a fault, (something I don't think they leaned enough into.) Kim for most of the story is bitter and lonely, (she's great) and Wallace is Scott's gay roommate.

The story gives the characters time to breathe, and be flawed, and not rush to go "oh but they're actually cool, and well-adjusted" which feels like weird thing to say because overall, I feel the pacing was done kinda poorly,

nothing terrible, but it feels like we're rushing a bit through everything, there are 7 exes but only 6 volumes, it can be argued that the twins are basically one character split into two, but even then it doesn't work because they don't give other exes the time to really make an impression, I could name some of their occupations, and maybe a name or two. But they're not strong enough characters to make an impression on their own, and we don't spend enough time with any one of them to make them memorable. This also extends to Gideon and his fight, as what there is in concept is really good, but we don't spend enough time with him, or the fight, or even the resolution to make anything truly stivk. The reason why the main cast works so well is that they're strong enough characters in their own, and we spend the entirety of the story with them, so they have time to grate and endear themselves.

It has issues, and I feel like it's been over-hyped because people online applaud it as this deep, character driven thought provoking makes you want to turn your life around kinda story, it's not. It is, smartly and consisley written, entertaining through out, let's you sympathise with (for) the characters and events happening. With a message that falls just a little bit flat for me.

So is her core a quick assist or not?

Trying to see if astrel voice would work more consistently on a team with her but the wording is a bit confusing.

Here's a more specific question about touch controls across a wide variaty of emulators.

So on my boy (the only one that I know of that does this) there's a feature in the settings where it allows for A and B to be pressed/held together at the same time.

So to be specific this allows, for example: to run in a mario game (b) then high jump (a) and then continue running all by simply dragging your thumb across the buttons.

Officaly it is described as pressing between a/b to simulate simultaneous pressing. But I wanted to be sure we're on the same page.

My question is: what are other emulators that have this feature? Specifically for the nes and snes but really as many systems as one think of is appreciated.

Wasn't entirely sure where else to post this, but.

The hombre title "goodboy galaxy" seems to freeze whenever I try to interact with this character, idk why.

Any thoughts?

Any way to make aniyomi more reliable for anime?

I use it to read manga and that works perfectly fine, but the anime side of things is a mess for me.

There's always an error code of some kind, or the player loads things too slow even though my Internet is fine. And sometimes anime on a certain extention just stop working.

For example, allanime is currently giving me a 404, and wcostream gives me something along the lines of "no video source" even when there is on the actual website.

I realise this isn't very specific, and that's because errors of some kind always to crop up, and then I have to figure out the issue, and then a new one takes it's place. It's never just one thing.

Is there any way to make it more consistent
