What colored contacts is she (Ella of iMeovv) wearing here

was thinking Hapa Kristin Cat-titude in Lady Beige but it's not as bright even when photographed with a flash. I'm stocking up on colored contacts for the next 14 months and I'm splitting it down into graphic heavy contacts and natural looking contacts. I'll also be posting contact reviews on here with photos in indoor and outdoor lighting since I've always found the lack of such images frustrating. Unrelated, but my pet peeve is when the only available photos of lens on a model is when it's on someone with much lighter eyes.

Kyle Gallner is NOT the perfect fancast for Isaiah Abrams

Circle jerk content, obvs. Don't be offended if you disagree.

No one looks at that face in the hottest highway with a pistol in their pocket and willingly gets in.

I get that he has played characters like so before but I want to see a different actor who hasn't done it numerous times (I also dont think he's that hot plus the age gaps way too big like I get that Ethel has daddy issues but she can't be reaching for spam at the top of the shelf) — I raise you, Fra Free! what has led me to this annoying personal opinion of mine is that he's really hot and I want to see him in a wife beater while fixing a truck.

other than that is my personal interpretation of Isaiah alines loosely with Sam Devlin (Unchosen). I get that he's got an Irish accent but I've seen more British/Irish actors do a better job at faking an American accent than an American actor attempting theirs.

I personally think that Isaiah DID NOT eat Ethel just for shits and giggles, it's one of those weird interpretations of becoming one with a person so they won't ever leave you. Was he feeling sick? physically, yes. But mentally the sick fuck was at peace.

There's two interpretations to how Isaiah wanted what his mum and dad had mentioned in Thoroughfare, either his dad was abusive and he looked up to him or his dad and mum really had a good relationship and he's absolute crap at replicating it so it led him to just cannibalize Ethel.

Bring up fan casting for Isaiah and I will not shut up.

My baby hairs are more defined, is it just me?

I'll send photos of my hair when I can. I have a lot of baby hair for my age though not as much as ***a lot***. it's very clear theyre wavy, even more defined than the rest of my tresses. its lowkey one of the reasons why I was convinced I had wavy hair a year ago, i have a little tuft (always present in pictures) that curves meanwhile the rest are either smaller tufts or very clear S shapes thats textbook wavy. I remember when my hair was rock bottom but they still looked cute and healthy, any tips on how care for them or should I just... not care too much given that the rest of my hair did better when I stopped internet routines. I want to keep them for as long as I can, any tips? im eighteen and the women in my mums side of the family says that for some they last well into their thirties or even forties. I want to take care of them since I think of them as face framing pieces that mirror the rest of my swavy hair naturally!

We should hole up all the awkward college boys in a ditch to make more music like Ax and the Hatchetmen

I have developed a comprehensive plan to isolate every awkward college boy in the country and redirect their collective discomfort into a state-funded music initiative. Phase one begins with the ditch, from there on forth we will throw instruments in each week to keep them busy then inevitably force them to listen to the entire discography of Ax and the Hatchetmen several times each week in order to produce tracks worthy of my hungry ears. thank you for coming to my Ted Talk./j

My hair began to look better when I stopped caring too much about internet routines

to begin, my hair is fine, highly porous, light-medium density and is 2A/2B. I used to do a lot and assumed that curly hair routines would be fine. I was wrong. anyways, long story short I get proper swavy hair information and did my own research. I used little mousse and did the whole standard conditioner drill! but it just wasn't cutting it for me. I didnt use too much mousse or conditioner yet my hair seemed to look very wet and somewhat stringy for the whole day? I then realized I had to just end up experimenting because I've never seen anyone with hair like me in person or demonstrating on how to care for it online. I just focused on products that keep my hair from getting damaged given how easy they snap, stretch, and get affected by heat!

initially I'd use hair masks but eventually I just got lazy and stopped doing it thrice a week until it also followed for conditioner. I currently use Growus damage therapy shampoo and thats about it, I shower late at night so it meant that I would need to use a blow dryer, I only use it with the cold air setting on and on speed 2, I no longer bother with air drying or using a diffuser. I still scrunch, but its while im drying my hair instead of it being in the shower. closest thing I get to scrunching in the shower is gathering it all and folding it to crudely squeeze water out at the back against my nape.

surprisingly my hair looks better than it ever did the past three or four years. a lot of people think I style it by doing tight braids before I sleep. before I go to bed I actually do braid it but its such a loose soft and low braid its only purpose is to keep my wave chunks from tangling since if I dont I wake up with a birds nest for hair. do I brush my hair? yes, but only before washing it and I use boar brushes, the kind they use for babies. if my hair got really tangled I use the standard black toothed boar brushes! I think it's also worth noting that my front pieces are much more wavier than the ones they overshadow, this led me to thin the lower layers with a razor or thinning scissors. I know that people think it'd make it look sad since I already have fine hair but it made it almost on par with the front pieces and extra soft looking if you ask me.

p.s I wash my hair either once or twice day, I have an oily scalp which makes my fine hair prone to greasiness! she cant survive going day two without shampoo.

How to get my hair up to God?

i've tried bump-its, chunky headbands, back-combing... but all my attempts end up having barely any change. I have ver fine 2A-2B hair but the density of it on my scalp is medium-light. I once had extra volume curls done at a salon, they used hair spray, crimping, and back-combing to give me volume but in photos its pretty clear that the voluminous curls I wanted wasn't achieved. whenever I try, I always make sure to flat iron my hair so it can be tamed easily without tangling easily, I remember when I had a chop before because of the heat damage affecting around three or four inches of my hairs ends (I used to do J curls where the hair is straight but curves inwards at the ends, I would repeat a few times on some sections when it didn't behave the way I want it to). Since then I've been taking serious care of my hair and began getting heat tools that actually help keeping it from being damaged. I think I've been able to tame my wavy hair? I don't need heat styling to make it look neat anymore (if I brush it, it gets puffy looking).

I think im ready to try again, should I get extensions?

Do you guys ever look on your titles from a year back and laugh?

"wow, that's a really generic and bad way to title this." and then thank the universe you never even finished writing it in the first place since looking at the title already makes it clear that whatever will follow is cringe worthy. but you read it anyways and get second hand embarrassment from yourself.

Can we make “do I look more Asian or white?” posts Friday-only?

this might be an unpopular opinion, but can we please consider making the “do I look more Asian or white?” / “what do I look like?” posts Friday-only?

I've been noticing how much more frequent these posts have become compared to when I used to be very active on this sub. I remember there always being some appearance/passing posts, obviously, but it feels like they've become a much larger part of the subreddit now. I don't think these posts are inherently bad. They can be fun, and I understand being curious about how other people perceive you. But at some point it starts feeling like we're constantly sorting ourselves into racial categories. Compared to other mixed-race communities I've looked at, I feel like r/Wasians has developed a particularly strong fixation on this. Obviously it's clear that appearance matters. Being perceived as more Asian, more white, ambiguous, etc. can genuinely affect how people treat you. I'm not denying that but I also think there's a point where there's posts constantly asking to classify or guess starts feeding into itself.

I just don't think that's a particularly healthy thing for a community to revolve around. If you're Wasian, you're Wasian. You don't become more or less Wasian because Reddit decided you look 70% Asian or 70% white. Feel free to identify with one side more than the other if you're more connected. At some point, the opinions of complete strangers really shouldn't have that much authority over how you see yourself. I'd much rather see more posts about actually being Wasian. Family dynamics, culture, growing up between backgrounds, being perceived differently depending on where you are, language, identity, funny experiences, awkward experiences, etc. There's so much more to the experience than trying to determine which racial box our faces fit into. These posts have become so popular in the sub to the point if you post a photo people will assume you're asking to be guessed whether you look more white or asian. im not targeting one experience, i've had it happen to me thrice now given I used an alt. tbh, I'm also tired of the NSFW-bait posts and the weirdos they attract. You can actually see one of my old posts on here about it and be able to see other members agreeing, I kind of miss them ngl.

There have been posts in the past where it's pretty obvious that someone is using the sub as a funnel toward their NSFW account: blurry/revealing pictures, heavy makeup, strange angles, and then their profile is basically just an OnlyFans advertisement. Obviously not every adult posting a selfie is doing this, but it has happened and it's disappointing to see. Im not shaming NSFW accounts or the people that just so happen to do onlyfans on the side, be free! I respect you! im specifically talking about the accounts dedicated to it and don't contribute to the community beyond posting their faces and asking to be guessed. they don't even comment outside of their post ("She doesnt even go here!" —Mean girls reference).

Some users also include their age and sex/gender when posting their face, which I think is worth being conscious of given the kind of audience this can attract. Obviously that's not inherently sexual. Plenty of non-NSFW subs, especially experience-based ones, use age and sex/gender when it's actually relevant to the discussion. I'm specifically talking about when it's attached to a selfie whose entire purpose is having strangers assess your appearance. That kind of age/sex labeling is much more commonly associated with sexual/selfie-oriented subreddits, and I think it's worth being aware of that when the same format starts appearing here. I'm not saying that someone identifying themselves that way is responsible for creepy behavior from other people, because obviously they're not. But when you're posting a selfie specifically for strangers to assess your appearance and also giving them demographic information about yourself, it can unfortunately make the post more appealing to people who are here for reasons other than the Wasian community. If you're posting a selfie and explicitly identifying yourself as, say, a 19F, you're giving the exact demographic of people looking for that kind of content another reason to engage. I'm not saying it's the poster's fault if someone behaves like a creep, but I do think it's something worth being conscious of given what this sub can attract. It's more suiting to use sex/age in the context of telling your experience.

Then you get the people in the comments who are very obviously not here because they're interested in the Wasian experience. They're just there because they've sexualized the idea of Asian/white mixed individuals and are looking to mess around iykwim. I don't want to be too direct since it may be seen as rude. It's tiring to see, and it's honestly disappointing when you come here expecting a mixed-race community and instead find people treating Wasian people like a fetish category and they get upvoted occasionally (no shame if its a genuine confidence booster, im talking about the ones more overtly hitting on the OP). Big appreciation to those who downvote it or shame them in reps.

I don't want r/Wasians to become a place where people(specifically women most of the time) posting pictures have to deal with that kind of attention simply because they're posting in a mixed-race subreddit. Making appearance posts Friday-only wouldn't magically solve all of this, obviously. But I think it would be a pretty reasonable compromise. Let people have their “do I look more Asian or white?” posts on one designated day, while the rest of the week has room for literally anything else. I'm not trying to shame anyone who enjoys these posts. I get the curiosity. I've wondered about this stuff myself. I just think we should be careful about building an entire community around racial classification, validation from strangers, and the sexual attention that unfortunately comes with it. I hope I don't get banned if mods see this as me not being polite.

We're people before we're a racial category.

What's the most stereotypically asian thing/rejection you've ever experienced?

Mine is very recent, and it's so ridiculous that I genuinely think it's funny because if I read this as someone else's story I'd assume they were exaggerating.

For context, I'm Filipino-Chinese, and I was in Manila visiting family when I attended a tinghun/dinghun, I'm not even sure which spelling applies because there are now more Chinese relatives in the family who were born and raised in China and married into it (its complicated). For those who don't know, it's basically an engagement celebration where the bride and groom's families meet, introduce themselves, exchange gifts, etc., with various traditional practices involved. In my family, though, the tinghun is also like 75% traditional ceremony and 25% everyone showing off their wealth. this is the second time I've been able to attend one and it can be enjoyable its just that this one was subpar on the enjoyment meter.

honestly, if I ever did want one, I'd want it to be immediate family only. I don't want the entire extended arm of the family tree, their friends, acquaintances, and whoever else they've invited watching me get introduced to people. That's basically what this felt like. Because apparently my grandfather and grandaunt decided that this was the perfect opportunity to play matchmaker. They brought along one of the guests and basically tried to set me up with him. They had already told me about him before but I just wasn't even into him at all and had no interest in dating.

I am eighteen. He is twenty-two, already runs a business, and was being a little too eager with me. All he really did was talk about his business in textiles or something and talk all about himself to impress me, while my relatives were apparently sitting there thinking that all was fine and that in five years time I might still be with this guy or something. And the thing is, I simply wasn't attracted to him. That's literally it. He could be perfectly nice and successful, but I just wasn't interested. my grandfather and grandaunt were trying to facilitate the interaction like this was an arranged-marriage speedrun.

The funniest part is that I'm not even the only granddaughter in the family who's currently single. There are other granddaughters older than me who aren't seeing anyone either, and frankly, they'd have made more practical candidates anyway, especially because I was only visiting Manila and eventually had to pack up and leave.

But apparently the eighteen-year-old who was about to go home was the one they decided to play matchmaker with??? I've almost been put into an arranged marriage before but me and the guy grew up together so it was just weird. we just saw each other as cousins because of the proximity growing up so we were icked out. ive already told them I just wasn't into it. When I made it clear I wasn't interested, the explanation I got was basically "You're too Western." Apparently not wanting to be spontaneously matched with a 22-year-old businessman at a family engagement party is evidence of Westernization now. They apologized to the guy and gave me an earful about how I embarrassed them or how im barely ever around (I do my best to attend their functions whenever I can, I just so happened to be really busy the past few years due to academics).

And it gets even funnier because my grandmother had actually asked me before if I would ever want a tinghun of my own. I told her probably not—not because I dislike the tradition, but because it's just not me. im not a fan of parties, the few reasons why im doing a debut instead of another trip is because of all the gifts and my mum has already planned a good chunk. My Aunts on the younger side advised me that whatever my family planned is more expensive than a trip and 3/4 of them regret choosing a vacation where its a bunch of selfies overseas instead of a collection of professionally shot stuff documenting them at eighteen. If I ever did change my mind about the tinghun, I'd want something small with immediate family, not the entire extended family and their friends turning up. My Grandma was genuinely a little saddened by that because I'm her eldest direct granddaughter, so I think she had this sentimental image of eventually seeing me have one too which is fair. honestly the entire situation sounds like some Crazy Rich Asians bullshit if I describe it out loud. That's genuinely why I'm laughing about it now. I was uncomfortable as hell at the time, but the whole sequence is so absurd that laughing about it is basically how I'm processing it.

I'm really bothered by what I said

tbh it could be just that I really really miss him but I keep overthinking about that time when we first met and I asked him if he was mixed since he seemed so to me. I could just be overanalyzing but he didn't seem very impressed with me asking, to be specific we were both teens and he was half cuban and half Trinidadian in Canada. I was really thrilled, honestly blinded because he was so good-looking and I was happy that my first exp in a "relationship" was with another mixed person so I felt safe and was hoping that we'd bond. I then shared my mix. I cant stop thinking about it since he may have thought I was some kind of fetishizer? idk, I cant help but wonder why and if I'd had set an ick off back then.
