Thoughts on my first city welcome

Thoughts on my first city welcome

Not bad for a first city? Still going to build the SW side with more industry and then just let the city sit and take in the income. Rezone, airport etc .

Thoughts and ideas please! Played it safe. 2 days playing. I'm about to open up another region.

Today marks 6 months!

I have had many stints of sobriety. Longest stint was 92 days. I'm 40 and have been drinking since I was 16.

Lost a marriage and family because of it.

Today marks 6 months of actual recovery.

After being your own worst enemy for so long, it is a new feeling being your own biggest fan, best friend and advocate.

That feeling? That's called "Self-Love". And it's beautiful.

I'll never let that go.

I am absolutely proud of myself for this, to some, "mild" accomplishment. But to me, this accomplishment isn't mild. It's HUGE.

I am not just "there". I am PRESENT.

After years and years of trying, this is the longest I've ever gone since my late teens without alcohol.

At 2 months away from 40, I'm actually discovering myself for the first time.

And you know what? I'm not that bad of a guy.

I should have done this waaaay sooner.

The old saying of "You only find sobriety after you finally realized you've suffered enough and become tired of it " rang true for me.

To many more months and years ahead.

Thank you.

Haircut!

Think I finally found the hair cut at 40 years old that suits me. I normally wear a hat, so it's a special thing to show my hair 🤣 Show it before I lose it! Lol

Other pic is my usual attire.

Sleeveless flannels FTW!! 🤘

Went from beard...to just the mustache.

First time rocking just the mustache in my 40 years of life. Thoughts?

Wife won't talk to me right now and says we aren't married anymore 🤣🤣🤣

Had for under a month

Bought the 36in "preseasoned" Blackstone June 21st.

Didn't want to trust the "preseasoned" aspect, so I seasoned it myself when I brought it home. You know the drill. High heat, coat with a thin layer of oil/conditioner (I used the Blackstone brand conditioner). Let it burn off until no more smoke. Repeat 3-5 times etc.

Been doing pretty well with it. Many dinners and breakfasts on it so far. After every cook before I sit down to eat, I scape, water and scrape again while the griddle is cooling down. When it's cool enough, I do a final layer of oil to coat it in preparation for the next cook. Put the silicone cover on it, lid and then full canvas cover.

After cooking todays breakfast of eggs and bacon, I started the cleaning routine.

Once completed I noticed these...bare spots? Is my seasoning flaking off? Am I doing something wrong? Or am I just being a dorky new owner and everything is fine just cook on it more? Phota taken AFTER the clean and re oil

Thanks for looking.

Joined the club!

40 years old and finally picked one up on sale!

After I put it together and seasoned it...BOOM! Made some burgers on it to break it in. Can't wait to experiment with it and truly embrace it.

Velco dogs indeed

First GSP I've ever had. I have a pointer mix, but now a GSP pure.

And my goodness. This 8 week old is adorable. If I sit on the floor anywhere near him, my lap becomes his nap place.

Once he falls asleep I put him in his kennel. We are kennel training him as we have our other dog.

Felt like sharing the adorable puppy face

Umm what's this

Well ...I kept waiting for it to drop at least like an In This Moment tune, but no. It just got worse.

Joined the GSP club...

And here we go. It begins. He's 8 weeks old. Breeder named him Colt as his whole liter was named after fire arms. Still gonna see if a better name suits him.

I want Stain. So when I call him...COME STAIN!

Real mature right?

We Own This City

I guess I'm a little late to the show. However I just wanted to share that I'm enjoying this little mini series so far. Based around the Baltimore Gun Trace Task Force, it goes into how the policies, political atmosphere and culture surrounding the Baltimore Police department allowed the GTTF and Wayne Jenkins got away with so much.

I love seeing many actors from The Wire in this show. Seeing Marlo all suited up and working the OTHER side of the coin was a treat. Landsman, Dookie and Herc all are in here as well.

You probably all have seen it before, but if you haven't...check it out!

Not nearly as thought provoking nor as in depth as The Wire, but the main star, Baltimore, still shines through.

Got a haircut...

Got my hair done differently than usual. Think I'll keep it. 40 don't look too bad on me.

Thoughts?
