Question regarding sky:cotl art

Do y'all prefer when artworks give them human faces or when artworks give them the canonical masks/humanlike faces?

Finally properly drew my skykid, I need more practice but yeah.

I've only really done quick sketches before this. I wanna try to practice drawing skykids so that I can trade art for IAPs since I see a lot of artists doing that

How do you shade fur without making it look super glossy/weird?

Working on some character concepts and I'm a bit lost on how to shade this guy since he's fully covered in fur, I've rendered a bit if his mane that's surrounding his face but other than that I'm kinda lost.

I've kinda just been trying to shade his fur similarly to how I shaded the other character's hair but I'm scared that it's just gonna make him look super greasy.

I've never really properly shaded a character who's fully covered in fur (at least properly) so I'm feeling a little lost. Any help is appreciated!!

[OC] Eldritch creature design I made for a thing I'm doing with some friends

I love designing monstrous characters, yummers. Albeit this one is more human than it could be

How can I improve my facial anatomy?

I used clip studio paint, soft brush for the sketch lines and oil paint for the shading.

I'm inspired by a lot of medieval artists I see so I decided to go out of my comfort zone a bit, I'm attempting semi realism. My usual style is anime inspired.

I'd especially appreciate feedback on the man with the downturned nose, I don't usually draw downturned noses so I'm afraid that the front and side profiles have the nose looking different.

I don't usually shade faces so I'd also appreciate feedback on if the way I attempted to shade the planes looks accurate or not.

I used a few references but I didn't use any one in particular for any of the drawings, I usually just have a big page open of a bunch of references and use whichever I feel like. I could try and find some of the references I used of necessary

Any tips on how I could improve my heads?

First slide is what I'm trying to improve, second slide is my usual style.

I decided to go for a more realistic approach, I'm unsure if it's too different from my normal style but I wanted to make the people feel more real.
