Francis is a direct descendant of the family founder, Belinda Alston, mother to Atticus. Francis's parents are Atticus and Edith Alston. He's the little brother of Edgar, who fell tragically in WW1, as did Francis's twin, Leonard. When Edgar was deployed, his wife and soulmate Maira (nee Watson) was pregnant with their second child. In his memory, she named him Edgar Jr.

Francis survived the war, and married Maira's sister Rahshida upon his return (although he has some latent attraction to one of the male fairy townies that he's been suppressing). They had Bernard and ultimately had to move back into the family home. Atticus had tragically passed away from a killer rabbit attack, around the same time Rahshida met the same fate...and Francis's family was out of funds due to his struggling art career and a recent house fire.

In close proximity and with their shared grief, Francis and Maira fell in love and became engaged...*after* conceiving the twins Evelyn and Moira...they have yet to set a wedding date.

In this scene, we see Francis with his son, Bernard, and his step-son/nephew Edgar Jr., enjoying their new radio while Maira pours tea after having just Woo-Hooed with Edgar's ghost in the other room.

August 5 rewind episode

Not sure how to flair this. I think I’ve listened to it 3 times trying to make sense of the conversation they’re having about The Terminator. They’re getting it confused with Robocop right?

Anyone else have $100 worth of stuff on their shopping list and a few too many ideas?

Seems like I'm just paying $150 a month to get someone to send in my Rx, which feels like a total rip off

I'm supposed to have "on demand messaging" with my provider, but there's nowhere to send a message directly to the provider. I'm told I have to wait 1-3 days for a response? My medication was changed, I don't know why, and I have no idea how much it's going to cost or when it's going to be filled...there's no one to answer a few questions about this?

Also what is the "1:1 health coaching"? There's certainly nothing on the website that leads me to that...why on earth would anyone pay this much per month just to get a prescription sent to a pharmacy? It would be significantly cheaper to just see a PCP. What am I missing?

Recommendations for going to a show solo on 7/19

I’m going to be on my own visiting NYC on 7/19–I had no idea it was the day of the World Cup Finals, it’s a total coincidence. No shows are jumping out at me other than Death of a Salesman, but I don’t want to break the bank. I don’t care if it’s Broadway proper or off Broadway/musical or not. Just looking for a solid matinee recommendation to enjoy while my kid is out with her friends.

(I’ve seen Back to the Future, Six, and Death Becomes Her on Broadway and liked them all. DBH was overall an amazing show, BttF had incredible effects/not the best music imo, and Six was a pleasant surprise but I’m not a big fan.)

My humble fancast

I am in no way advocating for another Joker movie/any new movie or show that prominently features the character rn. BUT I was wearing my Sinners shirt today and realized how much the look reminds me of J in Killer Smile. I think Jack O’Connell could nail it, and idk if I’ve seen his name thrown out there for this much.

Anyone take weight loss meds and have a neutral or positive experience in terms of their anxiety?

I’m generally nervous about taking any kind of medication, but I’ve been looking into GLP-1s to help me get back to a healthy weight. It seems like they have general health benefits that address some of my concerns as I age, too. Then I started reading about how much worse these drugs were making people’s anxiety. The statistics make it seem unlikely, but I didn’t see anything but negative experiences posted to this sub. Wondering if anyone can share their anecdotal experience of it either not making your anxiety worse, or maybe even improving it?

Maternal Instinct on Netflix

Just finished it. What an unhinged story and terrible tragedy. I could have sworn K&G covered this one, but I can’t find it on the website pinned to the sub. Anyone else watched this yet?

Sidenote: the (attempted) fetal abduction case MFM covered was the survival story of Teka Adams, episode 117.

What does "such other body as Congress may by law provide" mean in sec 4 of the 25th amendment?

Basically what the title says. My understanding is that the issue can only be raised by the VP and either the cabinet or "such other body as Congress may by law provide"? What does the latter allow for?

What is the protocol for exchanging contact info with new/potential friends?

I recently joined a book club and am getting along well with one of the members in particular. I would say we’re friends (book club level friends I guess?), but I have no way to get in contact with her. My 15yo daughter and 36yo partner thing I’m weird bc Im scared to ask for her number or IG. That just feels so forward. And is one more casual than the other? I feel like “can I have your Instagram?” is more casual but also something I have never said in my life. Can I just ask any cool person I meet and have a nice conversation with for their insta?
