What happens when someone submits a safeguarding concern? England

My (30F) friend is anonymously submitting a safeguarding concern with my local council as I am unable to shower at my parent's house, have to sleep upstairs and am not able to use my wheelchair indoors. My mum is emotionally abusive and has blocked my attempts to leave home but also won't make the house accessible.

What can I expect if my friend reports this? I am assuming social services will come round which I am nervous about but feel this is necessary at this point. I feel guilty in a way as I worry about the stress it will cause my parents but saying that I have stress induced shingles at the moment. I also worry that I will be left in a worse situation than before, even more trapped at home with my parents knowing I reported them. Would really appreciate any insights or experiences please

Payments being declined despite having money in account

I attempted to make two online payments (one on a website and the other through an app) and they both failed after multiple attempts. My debit card is due to expire next month so not sure if it is related to that or not. I called Natwest but they said they couldn't see evidence of the payments being declined despite the payments not going through (plus an email from one of the companies saying so).

I will see if contactless works tomorrow but it looks like I will be left in a difficult position until my new debit card arrives. Has anyone had anything similar please?

Possibly have shingles a year after last infection but only have two spots

I was diagnosed with shingles this time last year by a GP after noticing a very itchy area on the back of my leg. The doctor took one look at it and said shingles, a few weeks prior to this I got a terrible headache that resolved when the shingles had scabbed over.

I now have a very similar headache that I've only ever had once before and I noticed two shingles like spots on my arm that are extremely itchy. I'm slightly embarrassed about getting two spots checked out so not sure whether to just leave it until it gets worse. Has anyone else just had a couple of spots with shingles?

Spiky tonsil stone out of sight

I've removed three medium sized tonsil stones in the last month but I can tell there is a large one at the bottom of my right tonsil. My breath is horrendous and I can feel the stone particularly when I swallow as it is quite sharp. Also when I lie on my left side I can feel it irritating my left tonsil.

Any ideas on how to get rid of this pesky invisible stone? I've tried salt water gargles and it removed two of them but not this one. I'm also nervous about choking on this stone as I feel like it is pretty large but that could just be my imagination

Witnessed an elderly driver nearly reverse into two children at retail park (England)

Occured at a private retail park:

I was a front seat passenger in a car and I witnessed an elderly lady (with an elderly female front passenger) reverse out of a parking space so she was facing the wrong direction in the left lane. To rectify this, she quickly reversed into another space on the opposite side without checking her mirrors. She narrowly missed two children who were getting into a car in the adjacent space.

The only reason they were not hit by the car is because their mother shouted at them to move. I honestly thought I was about to witness an accident; the reversing car was so close to these children. I took a photo of the car with the numberplate visible but am unsure what to do now. Is this a police matter that would warrant calling 101? There was no dashcam in our car so we have no footage but we were outside several shops so I would assume they have CCTV. I just hate the idea of this unsafe driver still being on the road.

Tonsil stone is invisible until I cough

My medium-sized tonsil stone is extremely low down to the point that I have to cough in order to see it properly. This has made removing it extremely difficult as I have to exhale whilst trying to poke the surrounding area. Has anyone experienced something similar and could offer advice please?

Universal Credit bank statement request issue

I've been asked to provide four months worth of bank statements which I thought would be fine. The only issue is that I have one transation that is 'Automated Credit *Neighbour's name* *Neighbour's address* which I think will cause some problems. I didn't declare a change of address as I was still living at my house but I would go to my neighbour's house to use their shower as my own home does not have an accessible shower.

They did ask for a deposit of £100 in case of any issues but I'm not sure whether to explain this to the DWP before I submit the statements or after? I also don't want to get my neighbour into any trouble as it was an unoffical arrangement, are the DWP likely to contact them?

Would appreciate any input please

No support whilst in hospital for major surgery (UK/NHS)

TLDR; I am a wheelchair user (30s) living in an unsafe home with my parents, I'm due to have major surgery and will have no physical support whilst in hospital and after discharge. Looking for other's experience and/or advice please

I am an ambulatory wheelchair user (30s) due to have a major procedure in the next three months in a city which is about an hour away. I live with my parents in an unsuitable house; it is not wheelchair accessible and I have no access to a shower as I can't get into the bath. My mum has convinced herself that I am not particularly disabled which is quite a complicated situation, she also has social anxiety so I have been unable to get a carer. My dad has said to me that I should have access to a shower but he ultimately does whatever my mum says (I suspect there is coercive/controlling behaviour coming from my mum).

My dad will take me to my surgery but I will have no one to help with my personal care for the week I will be in hospital. I have a pre-op appointment with a nurse this week and I'm tempted to tell them that I have no one to help and no discharge plan as I can't go back to my parent's house after surgery as I can't shower there. I am planning on staying in an accessible hotel room. My worry is that if I ask for help then social services will get involved.

I have had bad experiences in the past when the police came to my parent's house and told them everything I had reported. My mum basically convinced them I was a pathological liar and I had a terrible time for the next 6 months when I was stuck inside. Is it worth seeing what help is out there? Looking for other's experience and/or advice please.
