Has anyone heard of anyone with near complete, severe anheodnia recovering?

Hello I’m someone that suffers from SSRI/antipsycotic induced anhedonia. And, I suspect that I am in a near complete anhedonic state. I feel no positive or negative emotions, and have pretty what’s called consummatory anhedonia where I can’t enjoy much of anything. I feel like I’m unable to care about anything, or feel love, etc. I feel like it’s hard to navigate myself with this and to work/function.

Has anyone heard of anyone being able to recover from such a severe condition?

I’m Looking for hope but also honest answers. Thank you.

How long should one be recommend to wait to heal naturally before trialing medication for severe anhedonia?

Hello, I’m someone that suffers from severe SSRI/antipsychotic induced anhedonia.

Does anyone know the recommended amount of time to attempt to heal naturally before trying medication or supplements?

Or is it just different for everyone. Thank you

For someone in under a year of SSRI/antipsychotic induced anhedonia would you recommend a healing protocol first before trying medication?

I am someone that suffers from severe SSRI/antipsychotic induced anhedonia.

Would it be recommended to do a “healing protocol” before starting medication or just go straight into it?

Thank you.

In terms of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) used for someone with anhedonia, what would be the most appropriate part of the brain to insert electrodes?

Deep brain stimulation is only recently being used for individuals with anhedonia/depression, and the most appropriate part of the brain to place the electrodes for DBS is still being researched. Based on research: It's between the Anterior limb of the internal capsule (ALIC), Medial forebrain bundle (MFB), Nucleus accumbens (NAc).

Would anyone have any advice on this?

What do you think the probability is of someone with severe anhedonia recovering?

I’m someone that suffers from a severe SSRI/antipsychotic induced anhedonia. I know there are few people on this subreddit who are severe cases like myself. I’m in the process of trying several treatments but I have a feeling this is going to be a long, difficult road ahead.

If someone does have true possible brain damage, does that mean they probably will never recover?

Does anyone know if anywhere in the world is performing MST treatment, privately yet?

I read that MST is in development still, but a part of me wonders if anywhere in the world is doing it privately already.

Thank you.

Has anyone heard of any success stories where a person had a substantial case of anhedonia, and was able to recover?

I’m someone that experiences severe SSRI/antipsycotic induced anhedonia. For me, I don’t seem to feel passive “pleasure” or reward signal for most things: music, pictures, videos, and also seem to suffer from having a lack of physical comfort a bit too.

Has anyone heard of any stories of someone who recovered who had experienced a similar caliber of anhedonia?

I feel like I’ve seen some stories here and there, but it’s hard to say exactly. Thank you.

What type of sleeping aid is safe to take while taking parnate?

I haven’t taken parnate just yet, but I plan to soon. Before taking it, I already unfortunately experience a mild Insomia and I think it’s very likely going worsen the Insomnia I already experience (I’m a very light sleeper).

Does anyone know a safe sleeping aid to combat parnate’s Insomia side effects?

How is NSI-189 freebase meant to be taken?

The directions aren't listed on the website from which I ordered it from. But, I've read multiple reports of people who say they took it sublingually. And if taken sublingually, then how much should one take?

Thank you.

What treatment or medication could be most effective for consummatory anhedonia?

I suffer from severe SSRI/antipsychotic induced anhedonia. I specifically have pretty bad consummatory anhedonia. Any advice on what treatments I can do to at least be somewhat alleviated?

Thank you.

Severe SSRI/antipsycotic induced anhedonia. Where should I start in terms of medication/treatment?

I’m torn between Cerebrosylin, NSI-189, parnate, and pramipexole. Can anyone give advice which to start first?

Thanks.

If I have severe anhedonia/emotional blunting, and after taking Psilocybin mushrooms, saw limited improvements in emotion, does that mean medication likley won’t work well as well either?

I was under the impression that magic mushrooms are stronger than known medication or substance. So, I wanted to ask if mushrooms didn’t fully succeed, does that mean medications or experimental chemicals likley won’t either?

Trying to weigh my options on what to do. 🤔

Would ECT be effective for someone that suffers from severe emotional blunting?

I suffer from SSRI/ Antipsychotic Induced Anhedonia. The worst symptom I have is nearly a complete emotional blunting and blank mind where it’s very debilitating. I have tried rTMS, ketamine infusion, and some other various supplements and medications here and there but to not much avail as of now.

Has anyone heard any stories of somone with complete emotional blunting being alleviated by ECT? (Any other treatment recommendations are also welcomed).
