Having an insanly hard time firing bricks

Had some bricks laying around at work so I took some and made this little kiln. It's been about 2 hours and my bricks just aren't getting hot enough to start glowing. They've been drying for over a week and I even cooked them on top of the kiln for a few hours just to make sure they were completely dry. Just can't seem to get it hot enough.

Entertain me

I don't have a tab welder and puller. And it's not worth it to buy to me because I'm just doing this one car. I do however have a mig welder. I'm thinking cut along the rocker line with an angle grinder and makeshift a slide hammer so I can pull out the quarter and then do the same for the rocker? Then weld it back together? Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Really don't wanna hear it's not worth trying. I have 2 other cars and I'm just trying to put some work into saving my long time baby when I have the time and money. I'm already pretty deep into this project so I'm not going back

GE jbs26005wh. Late 1980s

I'm no appliance repair guy, just an auto tech that likes to diy everything.

Is this even worth trying to save atp? Clearly it's trying to burn the house down. Obviously I will not be using it from this point on. The first pic is the light for the oven. Second and 3th pics are the stove top element sockets.

Wires are 18awg 600vac 125c° rated. ( 260F°~ American). That feels a little underrated for me on the temperature no? Which would explain why the element socket wires have burnt out at least twice because it's clearly been poorly repaired.

Buying a new oven would set me back a bit. And I really don't wanna keep putting money into a house I'm trying to get out of it because of the astronomical amount of work it's going to need. ( Kitchen and bathroom remo, all the windows, carpet is beyond due, dryer also has melted wires I found the other day, one circuit is out of commission due to arcing in the wall which nearly brought the house down. Had to call the fire department and I'm sitting there feeling the walls for warm spots with an axe in my hand. So long story short im trying to climb out of here.)

Sorry for the little rant. Any advice? Or is it the hand shoulder meme

Business idea but would need start up

Just shy of 700 credit score. I've had a full time job for 2 years now. I figured I would need about 15-20k. Most of that would be a truck that can haul 5000 lbs. Other would be small modifications for fitting equipment and paying for said equipment.

Am I being unrealistic?

Met ed loves to do maintenance outside of Business hours

I just wanted to eat and play a game when I got home. 4 hours later and I'm still sitting in the dark after getting Wendy's against my will. Dinner was planned. What if I couldn't afford to go out??

Start in the morning like everyone else does and finish before people get home. The little amount of maintenance these people do is always at the worst times. One planned outrage consisted of them pulling a vine off a pole. Which then had a significant lean afterwards. And is still like that 3 years later.

And next storm, guess what will happen? They'll be a 30mph gust and it'll be knocked out till the next day.

Rant over. I could be without electricity entirely. Or without a roof over my head. Just not what I want to come home to after working all day.

PA i80 drivers

Don't y'all get tired of this shit. Sitting in stand still traffic because of literally nothing half of the time? What's so hard about using a turn signal in a timely manner, or at all for that matter. What's so hard about knowing when you have the right of way and when you don't. Y'all sit in traffic for probably an extra hour or 2 out of the day because of someone doing something stupid and barely anyone is willing to call someone out of their stupidity and if they are, it turns into a life or death situation because idiots can't handle being called out.

That my drive home was 15 mins max. Instead it was an hour. Too many people here that cant follow simple road rules and etiquette, too many people here in general.

Ik most people that take 80 aren't going to ever see this. But vent over

Looking at getting a CRV. I'm a mechanic so being old doesn't matter to me as long as it's not rusty. Is there an advantage to getting the 3rd gen over the 2nd? The 3rd gens seem to be in super high demand and are often pricey. I'm not really a Honda guy so I don't know the difference between the 2.
