Hyphen : Product Review

Tried out a few more Hyphen products – the sunscreen, lip balm, and moisturiser.

Have already given a review on this one : Tbh didn't really like the lip Balm, ik even though a good price and all and I know they highlight stuff like peptides and squalane which sounds super hydrating, but the actual feel could have been so much better seriously!!

The sunscreen kinda stings around the eyes, which happens a lot with the chemical UV filters they use in it. It's a hybrid sunscreen, and honestly it's always a debate for me. I would want to prefer pure mineral sunscreens over hybrid or chemical ones. So I still can't decide if hybrid is the way to go. Will have to do more research tbh. (Used it for like a week, gave up bcz of the sting)

The moisturiser I still find way better than the rest of the products. It has ceramides that actually feel nice and do the job of locking in moisture.

I had used their golden hour glow serum before too. It’s got niacinamide and antioxidant ingredients in it. It gave a nice glow but honestly didn't feel like a long-lasting one. Good ingredients, just didn't hold up for me. I would still give this one a repurchase to see if takes longer to work

Overall honestly just feel like Hyphen uses good ingredients, but they could do a lot better with how the final products actually perform:)

Unpopular opinion: Vaseline nourishes way better than any lip balm out there, BUT

Unpopular opinion: plain old vaseline nourishes way better than any other lip balm out there. nothing else gives that heavy seal to actually heal dry lips.

But i had to stop using it recently:) i found out they aren't a completely cruelty-free brand. it is really hard to let go of a holy grail product that works so well, but i just can't support the animal testing loopholes ( so acc to what I could find brands that sell in china have to be open to such thing and bide by laws for animal testing - now question is there are brands that are 100 % cruelty-free and vegan sooo, this kinda stays with me)

If there's anyone who has tried better brands considering these factors do let me know in the comments ;)

Lip balm review: choose your pick

  1. Hyphen Vitamin Infused Peptide Lip Balm (Vanilla)

Price: ₹349 for 10g

Rating: 6/10

The Vibe: Really smooth, lightweight, and gives a nice, non-sticky glossy finish with a bit of a plumping effect. The catch? You'll need to reapply every 2–3 hours.

Ingredients: Peptides, squalane, shea butter, and safe fragrance.

Final thoughts: Definitely the most budget-friendly of the lot and gives a quick gloss. Also PETA-certified cruelty-free and 100% vegan — a solid win for the price.

  1. inde wild Dewy Lip Treatment

Price: ₹799

Rating: 7/10

The Vibe: Thick, smooth, ultra-rich, and leaves a solid protective layer. Incredibly moisturizing and works wonders for dry lips, especially as an overnight lip mask.

Ingredients: Peptides, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, shea butter, and barrier-repair lipids. Contains some fragrance allergens (geraniol, citronellol from rose oil)

Final thoughts: Powerpack, but the price tag is a bit steep. Cruelty-free and vegan, though not third-party certified, as they have simply chosen not to undergo the formal paid auditing process to feature the logos on their packaging, however, its officially confirmed on their website in the FAQs, that all of their products are 100% vegan and cruelty -free.

  1. Laneige Lip Glowy Balm

Price: ₹750 (approx)

Rating: 5/10

The Vibe: Soft with a nice melting gel texture. Feels genuinely hydrating on application and the tint is beautiful.

Ingredients: No peptides, no hyaluronic acid, no squalane. Uses unlisted parfum — you don't know what's actually in that fragrance blend.

Final thoughts : Honestly only likeable for the aesthetic tint. When it comes to actual deep lip nourishment, it just doesn't hit the mark. And at ₹750, you're mostly paying for the K-beauty name. Worth mentioning — Laneige is NOT cruelty-free and NOT vegan (sells in China where animal testing is mandated by law, and holds zero cruelty-free certifications).

Long awaited review - I bought all face masks I could

Hey ladiesss so this is something I had been meaning to try out for a while now and which I finalllllly did 🤭I wanted to try out diff face peel off masks and see which ones better and the one I should stick to in the longer run. I have left my review below, do give it a read!

  1. ClayCo Rice & Sake Radiance Mask

The Good Part: Firstly the concept its something i really liked bczz of watching kdramas 😜and its mechanism is like it leans heavily on Rice Ferment Filtrate (Sake) and Niacinamide. This combo is fantastic 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 for brightening up a dull complexion and keeping the skin barrier happy, so yayyyy to this one

The Bad Part:Because it’s a clay mask designed for a "radiant" finish, it often uses a base of Kaolin or Bentonite clay mixed with emollient oils. If your skin is on the normal or slightly oily side, youre good to go with this. But if you have any dry patches, clay can occasionally cling to them or feel a bit tight if left on for too long. So better be careful here !

  1. Medicube Collagen Night Wrapping Mask

The Good Part: The concept of this one comes with Collagen extract, Jojoba seed oil, and film-forming agents that literally glue hydration to your face while sometim honestly the idea to put it on over night seemed bizarre 😬😬

The Bad Part :To get that signature "wrapping" peel-off film effect, these formulas rely heavily on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) or specific polymers:)))Sooo if your skin is sensitive or easily congested, trapping everything under a literal plastic-like film all night can sometimes trigger minor breakouts or cause tiny bumps (milium) if your pores clog easily. Additionally, you may feel slight discomfort bczz I did face it leaving overnight and also may start to peel off after few hours of application

  1. Sulwhasoo Clarifying Mask

The Good Stuff:It’s loaded with traditional Hanbang (Korean herbal) ingredients like Solomon's Seal, Honey, and Japanese Honey, againnnn the concept LOVEDD IT ❤️ These are incredible for soothing inflammation and providing antioxidant protection.

The Bad Part:Two words:Alcohol and Fragrance. To make a peel-off mask dry down effectively within 20 minutes, alcohol is usually high up on the ingredient list. If your skin is ever compromised, dry, or sensitive, that hit of alcohol plus the heavy herbal fragrance can be irrigating, so you know what you gotta do now:))Plus, the physical act of peeling it off feels superrrr satisfying—can pull at the skin, which isn't great if you have active acne or a compromised skin barrier, in that case its a complete no no

---

The Final Verdict

Most likely to use and Safest Bet:ClayCo. It's the most straightforward, standard wash-off formula with great brightening ingredients and the least risk of causing a random reaction ✅ soo I def am gonna stick to this one !

Less likely to use:Sulwhasoo. As amazing as the traditional herbal extracts are 💁🏻‍♀️ the alcohol content required to make it a peel-off mask means it's not a formula you want to use if your skin is feeling dry or sensitised do better watch oout 🙃may or may not use this one depending on my skin's condition

Skin1004 Air-Fit Sunscreen: No white cast but gave me a delayed breakouts (2 month review)

Just wanted to drop a quick review of the

SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Air-Fit Sunscreen since I’ve been using it for like two months now.

Just for context, my skin is super acne-prone. Seriously, almost every sunscreen triggers breakouts for me. Befoooore this, I was using the Acne UV Gel SPF 50, which btw worked like magic for me.

Overall, I’d give the Skin1004 a solid 7/10 Here’s how it went:

The Good:

First off, it didn't sting at all when I started using it, which is a massive plus+++++ Even better—no initial breakouts and absolutely zero white cast. For me, that’s already a huge win!!!!

The Bad:

But here’s where it goes downhill. After a while, I feel like it actually compromised my skin barrier. It started giving me a slight stinging sensation fresh on application, and honestly, I ended up breaking out soon afteR----

It’s definitely not a bad sunscreen, but if your skin barrier is on the fragile side, just be a bit careful with it over time!

COS RX worth the hype?!

COS RX worth the hype?!

I used to have acne like anything and I still do and its lesser now as I have learned to control over my acne anddd I have also learned this over time tbh and while I was exploring the right product for myself and my skin

It was then when I discovered COS RX Salicylic Acid Cleanser and god I was really glad it it helped me with the comedones on my face 😭 and while I was also taking care of my gut health at the same time it did helped me clearing them out like majority of them. Now I would also mention how it helps, the cleanser acts like a deep pore plumber and helps get rid if those stubborn oil blocks

I have still do get comedones time and again and whenever I do I use this cleanser by cos rx honestly it helped me with clearing out my acne, only when hormonal acne hit:)) and im a huge fan of snail mucin serum too love whatever it does to my skin!! Really hydrating and post application feels toooo good!!

So I think its deffff WORTH THE HYPE!!

Acne x LRP review

My honest review on La Roche Posay -

Started using the products last year in dec, used their products for about 3 months and here my quick review:

I did started seeing results; fyi I have acne prone skin and also the oiliness that comes on my skin is ughhh 😮‍💨

Now for those who may have not heard about LRP, it is a french pharma brand.

Review -

Overall effectiveness - I would say it did work me and also it didnt. After a month or so it kinda stopped working the progress which was pretty visible somehow it kinda took a pause and that just made me worry again for my acne prone skin. I was in month three NOW and still decided to to continue the usage and honestly, it did started working again and then boom again the growth--- was like im not seeing visible results which I clearly was.

It was the Effaclar anti acne gel face cleanser mostly I was talking of- I was a bit disappointed just makes my skin dry, I would say, I was also careful with the amount of portion to be used. I had my hopes tied onto this one honestly but I think could be just my skin or so. And really I did liked the product, only if it didn't make my skin dry post usage would have been my go to thing, deff

The LRP Anthelios UVMune400 Invisible fluid sunscreen- worked oout for me big time! Formula is thin and watery based.Def made me glad on the purchase and results too, didnt notice any sweat indoors and also it didnt sting at all and that was the banger for me. Smell wise its fine. One last thing I faced was slight yellowish color after the application which I am still okay with, its just like white cast but in yellow color and it didnt affect my skin tone as much.

Value for money - its a 50/50 for me tbh (considering the no. of products I have used) and also im yet to use their other products which is also soon arriving at my door step. Lastly I feel, its a really expensive brand obv its a premium brand I would def give it a try and a accordingly continue the usage depending on how the products end up working out for my skin.
