Long time listener, first time caller.
It’s been over two decades since I last built a PC. A lot has changed, but one thing hasn’t, there’s still nothing quite like geeking out over hardware and slowly collecting the parts.
This time is even more special because I’ll be building it alongside my 10 year old son. It’ll be his first PC build, and hopefully one of those memories he’ll look back on years from now.
The hunt for each component has been half the fun. Hours of research, comparing parts, reading reviews, and waiting for the right deals. I may have gone a little overboard, but if we’re going to do it, we’re going to do it right.
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
ASUS TUF RTX 5080
ASUS TUF Gaming B850-PLUS WiFi
G.SKILL Flare X5 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30
Samsung 9100 Pro 1TB
Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360
Corsair RM1000x ATX 3.1
Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini V2 Flow
The goal isn’t just a fast gaming PC. I want to build something we’re both proud of, a clean, well thought out system that looks as good as it performs.
More importantly, I’m excited to get back into the hobby and share it with my son. Looking forward to showing him how the OGs did it before RGB became a requirement. Stay tuned for the finished build!
I started with a blue single-pass strap, but swapped it out for this black one, and honestly, it looks even more badass now.
I’ve always wanted a Hamilton timepiece, and after getting pulled into the history (thanks to TGV), I finally went for it.
This was a bit of an impulse buy, but so far I’m not regretting it at all. Swapped out the bracelet right after unboxing for what’s quickly becoming my go-to: a single-pass ribbed nylon strap with a twin trigger deployant clasp. Totally changes the feel and wears super comfortably 🤙🤙🤙
