Recently started my collection

A little late to the party but I recently started to hunt for UG/VG. I only wanted to purchase pieces I thought were unique and got the bug bad. Here are some of my favorites and what I paid. Most of these I purchased from antique stores or flea markets, but a couple from eBay. Still have yet to find that surprise UG.

- Richard’s & Hartley compote, 1880’s, $100
(Daisy and Button with bars pattern)

- Hobbs Brockunier? Cruet, 1880’s, $30
(Hobnail pattern)

- Canton Glass Company blue UG tumbler, 1880’s, $22
(Daisy and Button pattern)

- Dugan Diamond (bird in flight, seagull) bonbon, 1920’s, $26

- Ruffled top swung vase, 1920’s?, $30

Got a few favorites up on display

Recently picked up the green ball so I thought I would get a nice array of color on display.

What’s the consensus on this beauty?

I know the emerald green jars are pretty rare, but also reproduced a lot. What do yall think of this one? I’d like to buy it but I’m a little hesitant.

Found this awesome “Wishbone” by Laurel today

I’ve been on the hunt for a while now when I spotted this beauty. I’m not sure if it came with a diffuser but this one is missing. I had to have it! Paid $150. Gerald Thurston design.

The Giant food store had this beauty for $25! Too bad it was the last one left!

Could anyone venture an I.D.?

I can’t quite seem to pin this one down. It’s a Holden Beach tooth, pretty chunky which leads me to believe it’s not a GW, unfortunately it’s pretty worn. Possible Angustidens with missing cusps? Not sure.

Fossil fest ‘26

Been going to Aurora, NC for 3 years now and this year was by far my best haul. The material was much less rocky than it has been. I believe to have found my first complete Chubutensis. This was about 4 hours worth of digging. I’m so grateful to the museum/staff/mine for putting this show on every year for free, such an awesome time. Anyone else attend this year?

I broke my only rule

I broke my rule of only purchasing things that need work/thrifted. When I saw this I just absolutely had to have it. It is one of the most beautiful pieces of furniture I’ve ever laid my eyes on and haven’t seen anything quite like it. I paid $950 usd which also makes it by far the most expensive piece I’ve ever purchased. The seller did a fantastic job on the refinish and we are both thinking Danish but sadly the remnants of the tag are illegible. So glad to have found it!

Another Acclaim re-finish

Starting to build up quite the collection of Lane Acclaim pieces, I just can’t let them go! Bought this off marketplace for $175 and my wife thought I was crazy. I was hoping the papers were just shellacked over but unfortunately they were also glued down somehow, was somewhat painful to get them all off. Turned out pretty nice, still has some character so I don’t feel as bad with the inevitable paces our toddler will put it through. Finished with candlelight stain and a boat load of satin poly.

Unbelievable marketplace find

Scored this beautiful Lane Acclaim dresser with mirror for $60. It was an hour away from me I was shocked it was still there. Looks to have been made in 1959. I’ll be riding this high for a while!
