Freddie Mercury never lived in a world without Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, or Donald Trump. He also died before any of their presidencies.

Oh Mary! When I don’t know Mary

I’ve had FOMO at not being able to see comedians I love as Mary on Broadway (Oh Titus! Oh Maya! Oh Meg!)- I figured that a lot of my delight of the play would come from seeing a comedian I enjoy acting like a deranged slapstick First Lady with their own personal brand of humor that I know and love (To be fair, I was unfamiliar with Cole Escola before they originated the role, but I’d enjoy them too). Now the national tour is coming, but I’m not familiar with the actors portraying Mary. Will it still hit the same?

You know how some people have dreams where they show up for the final exam without studying?

I had a dream last night where I showed up for my colonoscopy “unprepared”.

Well I guess this is growing up….

During the Satanic Panic of the 80s, you could get ID cards made of your kids, which you could show to the news and media if they were kidnapped. Here’s mine from 1985.

What is your favorite rendition of a hit song performed in a jukebox musical?

I loved the arrangement of “21 Guns” in American Idiot. I never thought twice about that song back when it was on the radio, but now I hear it in a different way.

Any smaller, regional board game conventions going on in the US this summer?

Done GenCon, I prefer something smaller even if it’s just open gaming and tournaments. Into the fall is cool too. Would be up for traveling, but East Coast preferable!
